I have my S5 connected to my car radio via bluetooth. I'd like to listen to the local radio, but would still like to get alerts (including GPS directions) without having to switch the source over to the phone. Is this possible? How?
View 3 RepliesI used to have a Bold 9700. When I listened to music with headphones, incoming message alerts would sound over the music through the headphones. With the 9650, the song pauses, and then the message alert sound comes out of the speaker instead of the headphones, then the music resumes. Is there a setting I am missing here?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the lollipop update I can't turn off the "new sms message" on my radio while playing music through bluetooth. Before the update I could just turn my phone on vibrate or mute and the alerts wouldn't interrupt my music. I'll be singing along to a song when suddenly the music stops, an alert tone comes on and the "new sms message" pops up on my radio display. It's bad enough that half of my apps stop working randomly for no reason since the update.

When I run the first time, in menu I can find My Music / Radio Mix / Gigs / Setting. After couple of time I enter/exit from the app, Gigs and Radio Mix disappear, and I have only My Music and Setting. Means I can't anymore listen to online music or download radio mix for offline listening. If I uninstall the app and install again, the first time I found the complete menu, but after they disappear again. Without Radio Mix menu the Nokia Music app is not useful anymore.
When I had my iPhone I could join it to my car radio to play music through Bluetooth no probs. My Galaxy S5 can 'see' my radio but always fails to connect. Would I be correct in thinking that there are different types of Bluetooth? Its not like its a cheap radio either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought this phone before couple of months ago and I love to listen radio over internet when I'm bycling.The network I have is same , my sim card is same but when I try to listen radio over internet , somehow it'll stop after 10 or 15 minutes,untill I'm clicking the play button again,why this happen I don't know, I tihink phone couldn't change the gsm protocol to wcdma protocol when it's choosed "gsm/wcdma preferred",is there any solution for this? only gsm is not enough due to data traffic rate and wcdma is also not available everywhere?

When I try my phone doesn't even see my radio. My old Galaxy S5 used to play just fine on the radio with the Lollipop update... It does see and pair to other devices,like my Tone Pro headset.

it might be a stupid question but my bluetooth headset works fine when making phone calls but doesn't work when playing music.
The phone plays the music fine but when I turn on the headset it sais "phone#1 is connected" but no music in the headset.
On my Blackberry Curve 8330 I could listen to music via bluetooth, then place a call using the headset's voice-dial button. When the call ended the music would restart. But on my shiney new Storm2 9550, this doesn't work. After the call ends, the phone just stays at the dial screen. Any suggestion on what I could try?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was listening to the giantbombcast using the pocketcasts app, and I about 15 minutes in the volume automatically goes down. I turn it back up, and it goes down again, automatically... right away. As soon as I push the volume bar to the right, it swings back to the left. Then, "Ok Google" pops up. It says "say Ok Google" or tap mic". The volume then goes up, then down, then up, then down uncontrollably. Then it stops, and I'm just looking at the Ok Google screen. When I press back to go to the pocketcasts, all of this happens again after 30 seconds. I don't know what is going on here.

Whenever I open the Google Music app, for example, and then turn up the volume using the volume rocker, that annoying warning that says "Listening at high volume can cause hearing damage..." or whatever pops up, and you have to hit OK to dismiss it. On the S5 that warning even seems to pop up more often. I never figured out how to disable it on my S4, which was running an older version of Android, nor do I know how to disable it on my S5 running Kit Kat 4.2.2.

I use a Bluetooth headset to listen to music that I have on the SD card but would also appreciate the option of listening to the radio on occasion. The problem is that the radio will only work once the wired headset is connected, as the cable is used as an aerial. Is there any way in which I can overcome this problem. I have tried plugging the wired heaset in so that the radio works through that, but then there is no sound through the Bluetooth headset. For the record, I have experienced an irritating problem since having upgraded to 2.3. I downloaded a few skins off the HTC Hub after which the downloading notification arrows on the top information bar as well as the download information on the information sheet could not be removed. I tried many options, to the extent of even deleting the apps concerned, but the notifications remained. The only way that I was able to clear them was to perform a full factory reset causing much information to be lost. I wonder how many others have experienced the same problem. Other than this the upgrade did improve a number of functions.

When I goto Radio it gets hanged instantly only option I have is to click on red button or menu button, but radio app keeps running in back ground. When I tried to turn on my Bluetooth I gets a error message 'Unable to perform Bluetooth Operation'. When I got to Albums and tried to send any music file via Bluetooth I get a message 'Unable to connect'. I had already tries hard resetting and re-installing firmware through OVI suite, but I am still facing this problem.

But ... this is not possible. The options for radio output are - loudspeaker or wired headset. May be Nokia will develop this very useful in my humble opinion) feature in the next firmware version.
