View 4 RepliesI'll be using my phone and sometimes, it'll just shutoff as if you were to press and hold the power button to force it to reboot. I'm on the stock ROM and just reflashed the latest image and its still doing it, is my power button faulty?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone now goes into random reboot and goes into "Android is starting Optimizing app x of xxx" mode. It take a lot of efforts to bring phone back to normal. I googled for this issue but didn't find any firm solution for the same. My phone has custom ROM based on 5.1.1
The issue started few days ago and I am using this ROM since long time.
I usually put my N5 on an LG Wireless Qi charger at night before bed. Over the last week, I had a couple of days that when I woke up, I noticed that Android Assistant has reported a reboot over night.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to get the occasional reboot but on Thursday maybe from any update my phone was rebooting every 20 minutes even after clearing the cache. After Thursday it stopped rebooting and hasn't ever since.
The only other annoyance I received was camera cannot connect when I tried opening the camera app but was resolved with a reboot.
I recently installed a new ROM and kernal (pure nexus ROM with the gods kernal) it's all running as it should be, but the issue i now how is reboots, my phone randomly reboots and shuts down, not sure what is causing the issue. There's no error upon rebooting though. Just freezes and reboots randomly when it wants too...
View 2 Replies View Relatedi had 2 reboots in the last 24 hours. One while i was on spotify and another one while i was playing. The phone freezes and then reboot. Is there a way to find out what's going wrong? Maybe read a log
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently installed a new ROM and kernel, pure nexus ROM with the gods kernel. Its running very smooth however I'm having a problem with it. It'll do it randomly whether I'm multi tasking or not. Some times it will make a beep sound for 3 seconds and reboot. I have attached last_kernel message, I'm not sure if its that or the log cat.

Need to do a hard reboot to get back 5ghz WiFi detection....
Btw, my nexus 6p is rooted and installed xposed....
Over the last few days, I have been getting reboots at least once a day. I can't figure out why.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got some random reboots after upgrading on stock Lollipop 5.1 on my Nexus 5.I've used Android 5.0.1 without any reboots or problem, but after upgrading on 5.1 I'm facing many random reboots when I switch from an app (like a game or Hangouts) using Recents or Home button from NavBar (it also happens randomly when I'm using my phone, like writing a message on Hangouts). The reboots I'm talking about are not "soft" but "hard", because bootloader's logo (Google) appears and restarts my phone, so it is caused by Kernel Panic (as you'll see in my last_kmsg) and they occured on both stock and custom rom.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a nexus 5 running lollipop (5.0.1) and the phone will randomly shutdown or reboot. I've tried a factory reset as well as clearing the cache after the reset. That did not solve the problem. I'm hoping its not a harware issue but given that I don't have a single app other than the default google apps installed.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy device runs on AOSIP Hammerhead 2.2 ROM with Solo Gapps. Everything was fine until 2 a couple of days back my device started rebooting at regular intervals. Sometimes when I unlock the screen it reboots, or which working with some application it reboots. After suggestions from some friends I did a dirty and clean flash as well and did a fresh flashing of the ROM + Gapps. But it still ain't resolving my problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone often rebooting after I unlocked the screen. I don't remember when it started behaving like this, but I already did a clean flash, change the rom, swith unlock to 'none' but didn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I had my N5 since 2013 and the battery as the updates went around was up and down until Marshmallow came out, it was amazing. Great speed , battery and everything, but i broke my own rule and updated to 6.0.1 as soon as i was able to. Well since then the battery isn't so good, and whenever I use heavy apps (primarily when i try to multitask between them) the phone will black out and will turn back on with a chunk of battery missing or it used to be dead. Again this only started with new update so I cant totally point at the battery being old as the problem, but as a new bug with update. I cleared cache and reset it. I tried to downgrade it but kept saying there was missing images and such.
View 4 Replies View Related2 nights ago I opened up my sons Nexus 5 and changed the battery. I replaced it with a oem replacement that I found on Amazon. I put the phone back together and everything works fine, but he is suffering from random shutdowns. He says that he plays his phone throughout the day and every now and then when he pulls his phone out of his pocket it has powered off. He has to hold down the power button to restart the phone. Do I need to take the phone back apart?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems like my Nexus 5 won't send SMS messages, at random times, for no apparent reason. I'm sending messages to friends, getting responses, then boom, the "sending" bounces, but refuses to send the SMS. It then gives me a message saying that it failed, and is retrying. Still won't send, until kt decides to randomly send the SMS at some point. I am on the Fido (Canadian) network. I tried through Hangouts and through a 3rd party app.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI've been having random shutdowns lately. And i just got a warranty exchange same thing happens. I have the t-mobile version. i do have the latest version of 5.1.1 ....
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening recently. I'll be sitting with a full LTE connection reading news when suddenly pages will stop loading in Chrome. Trying to launch Facebook or any other connected app at that point won't work. Check settings and I have full bars and all white/gray, not orange indicating a lost Google connection. Only thing that resolves it is to reboot the phone. It will work fine after that until a later date when the same thing happens. Not a tower issue either as this happens everywhere. Stock Nexus 5, not rooted and on T-Mobile.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.4 and CyanogenMod 11. Like always, it had been working really find untill today, when it started to reboot and entered in a loop. I found out that it was because the power button was broken and with the lightest touch, it would activate. Searching through the Internet I found out that many people happen to have this problem. I tried to disable the power button editing a file that is found under /system/usr/keylayout/qpnp_pon.kl, where I had to simply comment the line where the power button was.
Now, if I click the power button it doesn't happen anything, like I was expecting, but after 30 seconds of clicking it, it shuts down and it reboots like if it was an internal error or someting similar that caused that reboot. Is it possible that disabling it the way I did could cause any type of problem that made it reboot after touching it?
I know it's an internal problem or something like this because when I touch it, it doesn't lock the screen or show the power menu, so the button itself is kind of "disabled", but it keeps causing this problem.
Phone reboots by itself, now that has stopped but the WiFi won't connect. Go to settings and phone stuck in WiFi turning on and the on/off slide is greyed out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
I have Nexus 5 and was running good with Marshmellow and suddenly one day the screen started scrolling up. Restart or factory reset did not work. While starting the boot logo was also corrupted and I use to get is display with random pixels lit with different colors, mostly white and red. So have tried different bootloaders and even downgrading to 4.4.4 but the issue is still there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the following issues:
-(When i lock my phone or when it locks itself it reboots) fixed
-I can't turn on wifi and bluetooth
-(Can't copy files to phone) fixed
I tried this [URL] .... but in the step [URL].....
I don't get any problems. I did the second command but it also didn't solve the issue that I can't copy files. I tried resetting to factory settings twice, didn't do anything. I tried putting it in the refrigerator but didn't do anything.
99% sure it's hardware issue, gonna RMA the phone.
After finally getting access to the wifi button in safe mode, I knew the issue was caused by an app. The only one I had recently installed was TMobile. Sure enough, uninstalling it solved all 3 of these issues.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI replaced the cracked LCD. Every time time the screen is awakened the touchscreen seems to randomly choose a different Y-axis starting position. Sometimes it is correct sometimes it is a little off and sometimes way off. Is this a defective replacement or is it an android issue.

My Storm will reboot, seemingly without cause or warning, and sometimes take hours to reach the home screen again. When it does this it will go black, the red light will come on and it usually goes off after a short time. After that a black screen with a clock pops up and finally the BlackBerry screen with the loading bar at the bottom. It goes through this process several times before it will turn on. When it does come on it tells me the battery is drained, even if it was fully charged before it shut off. It makes it pointless to keep paying for a phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone randomly reboots while it's sitting there not being used. This is very odd and I'm starting to believe it's a firmware bug so I ask you to report this to the dev team. Basically the phone will reboot and that's it, but not a full reboot, because it won't ask for pin code, it will just close all apps, play the boot animation, and go back to the lock screen. The only way to tell it happened is either to be looking at the phone as it reboots or check under diagnostics -> system incidents. My phone is totally stock and I don't have anything too weird installed that would mess with the system. It has been factory reset and refurbished.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince the start that I own my Galaxy S6 I'm having issues with the phone. The biggest issue is that when I use my phone it will freeze for 1/2 seconds and then it does a soft reboot.
All my apps/data stays open but I have to wait for like 1 minute before I can start working again.
The weird thing is that sometimes it happens like 4 times in half an hour but sometimes it doesn't reboot for more then a month. Then you think 'finally it doesn't happen anymore' and then from outta nowhere it reboots itself, it's really frustrating.
I've already factory reset my phone and wiping my cache partition but it won't work.
A couple of weeks ago I traded in my 9630 for a 9900 and love it but recently the device has been doing random soft resets for no apparent reason.
