Galaxy S5 :: How To Disable Ultra Power Saving Mode While Phone Locked
Jun 26, 2015I managed to lock myself out of my Samsung galaxy s5, and now my phone is now asking for an alternative password (which I don't remember setting).
I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked.
p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.

Dec 1, 2012I have a very peculiar issue with my 920. The phone sometimes does not lock when I press the power button. That time, it does not even get locked automatically. I always reboot when it does that; was even about to return the fone coz of this but no device is perfect.

Jan 4, 20125.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?

Nov 27, 2015i am locked out my samsung galaxy s5 phone. i went on the android device manager web and tried to do the whole step until i realized the location on my phone is off. so everytime i reset the password instead of getting the black screen and asked for a pin it keeps asking me for alternate password.i really dont want to do factory reset and lose all the pic memories i made with my kids and family. The memories i cant get back.

Jun 18, 2015I need to disable the "Reactivation Lock" to flash TWRP recovery from Odin (failing because of R/L) but everytime I try to turn it off and enter my samsung password it will turn back on. I tried removing samsung account or deleting it altogether but no luck.now I can't receive OTA because of Ping pong root and I can't flash because of R/L. the ONLY way to fix this is to flash the exact same firmware (and CSC) as the current firmware via Odin. I'll never use R/L ever!

Aug 29, 2015I have setup fingerprint for security and I would like to know - is there a way to hide notifications from the lock screen and to disable the notification tray access from the lock screen when the device is locked (while allowing everything when it's unlocked)? Even when my device gets locked everything is still accessible from the lock screen.
I don't want to disable the notifications altogether from the Sounds and notifications->notifications on lock screen menu.

My phone app is on my home page but sometimes I have to search for the icon because it has moved. May 16, 2014So I downloaded Foxfi, which required me to put a pin on the phone. I put one in, but apparently I put in a different pin than I intended. So now I'm locked out of my phone which has a pin password. Is there any way to get by this without a factory reset?
I have tried intentionally getting the pin incorrect, but not forgot pin or opportunity arises to log in via Google, in which case I would have my phone back.
I have also tried using Android Device Manager, but it is requiring me to "Set Up Lock And Erase" before I do anything on that.
I have also tried hooking up the phone to my computer, but the internal storage won't mount until I get the passcode right and mount the device.

Nov 9, 2015My fingerprint feature was working fine...then suddenly it wasn't. I have the same fingers today that I had yesterday. So I'm then prompted to change my password via gmail. Did that. Didn't work. Tried hundreds of times now and I'm never prompted to try through gmail again. Logged into my Google Device Manager and Sprint told me (via another phone) I should see an option to UNLOCK the device, yet, only the LOCK option appears as if the phone is lost. Tried that new numeric code set using GDM...doesn't work. I refuse to factory reset.

Aug 20, 2015I set it to finger print unlock and within 45 seconds of setting the lock I tried to reopen my phone and it didn't recognize my fingerprint. No big deal, that's why we have the secondary password right? Nope. It said incorrect password every. Single. Time. Which it can't POSSIBLY be incorrect because me being the small brained blonde that I am only use 3 possible passwords at any given time as it is!!!!
So I got onto the device manager and for the first few days was not able to lock it because it was already locked....so I left it for a few days. NOW I am currently on the device manager and the option to lock the phone WILL let me set a new lock on the phone....so I tried it. I go to punch in the password on the screen of my phone and it still says it is incorrect. I have now tried this at least 5 times using the most simple passwords and it still says it is incorrect.

Feb 3, 2015I bought a Galaxy S5 from Argos very recently since I needed a sim free phone, it was a gift for my brother who was moving abroad. However, he has since informed me that the phone is locked and is not accepting the local sims. Now I feel this may have been my fault because I've heard you need to use a couple UK sims before going abroad which I never did. Anyway, I wanted to grab an unlock code for him to use but all the websites ask what network the phone is locked to, which he can't find since it was originally unlocked from Argos.
So in summary, I need to somehow find out if the phone is locked to a network even though the phone was bought unlocked. Pretty confusing, I know.

Checked encryption of binary, unpacked binary, changed the picture of computer/phone to grey panel and started downloading to phone. Phone shows gren robot and "Downloading... Do not turn off target". It downloaded 11% and stopped.That was at 1540. It is now 1710 and it still shows 11%?

Jan 6, 2016I have purchased a S6 from Amazon, but the device is branded with Swisscom, with an awful boot logo and sound, and a few specific apps. I'm waiting for a nano sim, so for now I don't know if the phone is also simlocked.
I intend anyway to install custom roms, so I don't care much about this, however I can't find out whether the bootloader is locked or not (in which case, I'll have to send it back to Amazon I guess).
The device is a SM-920F, I made the OTA update to 5.1.1 upon powering it. Not sure what the bootloader and rom exact versions are, but I will add them to the post if necessary.
Galaxy S6 :: Boot Sound Locked When Using Encryption
Sep 12, 2015I just want to preface this by saying I cannot root my phone. Not because I am incapable but because this is my corporate phone and I would no longer be able to use it for work related things if I rooted it.
I am using a Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy S6. Every person I've come across that has an S6 or newer samsung phone is able to boot up on silent and not get the samsung noise when the logo comes up. I tried doing a hard reset on my phone just to test to see if my phone would boot silently if I set it on "Mute" mode and it did WITHOUT encryption but I am forced to use encryption by my company's device management policy app or I can't access other things like my e-mail.
How to get the device to boot silently without rooting with these factors in mind? I reached out to samsung and they were clueless. As far as the support knows, the phones cannot boot without the noise even on "Mute" mode which is clearly not the case.
I've tried the Silent boot app as well with no success. I've noticed this happens only when encrypted and upon checking the volume settings on the screen where you have to put your encryption password after booting up, the volume settings are kicked back to default.

So far I've found "EmergencyManagerService" is related. I started trying one by one and found this one but then unfroze all.
I get a pop-up saying to wait while it configures (0/100)... But it doesn't ever turn on.

Dec 28, 2015My phone was working perfectly fine this morning when I got up. I went to make a call, it wouldn't connect so I went to Restart it, it froze on the "Starting Apps" screen. I did the whole "Holding the volume & Power" It powers up like it should, but doesn't move past the Samsung S6 Edge Screen. The blue light is flickering on it also. I don't know what to do!!!
