Galaxy S5 :: Volume Keys Always Turn Phone To Silent Or Ringtone Even When Screen Off And Locked
Jun 11, 2015I've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.

Jun 18, 2015I need to disable the "Reactivation Lock" to flash TWRP recovery from Odin (failing because of R/L) but everytime I try to turn it off and enter my samsung password it will turn back on. I tried removing samsung account or deleting it altogether but no luck.now I can't receive OTA because of Ping pong root and I can't flash because of R/L. the ONLY way to fix this is to flash the exact same firmware (and CSC) as the current firmware via Odin. I'll never use R/L ever!

Jun 26, 2015I managed to lock myself out of my Samsung galaxy s5, and now my phone is now asking for an alternative password (which I don't remember setting).
I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked.
p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.

Feb 15, 2012I have had my Bold 9900 for less than 3 months and in the last week I have experienced the following issue: The screen stays lit up constantly, which is making the battery run out very quickly. When I press the lock button the screen turns off for about 5 seconds, then lights up again, and stays lit. I can't see anything in the Options menu that will fix it. As I say, the problem has only been occurring in the last week.

Nov 9, 2015My fingerprint feature was working fine...then suddenly it wasn't. I have the same fingers today that I had yesterday. So I'm then prompted to change my password via gmail. Did that. Didn't work. Tried hundreds of times now and I'm never prompted to try through gmail again. Logged into my Google Device Manager and Sprint told me (via another phone) I should see an option to UNLOCK the device, yet, only the LOCK option appears as if the phone is lost. Tried that new numeric code set using GDM...doesn't work. I refuse to factory reset.

When I go to the 'screen lock type' screen, it does not offer Swipe or None, they are there but in lightened font. just want to return the phone to no lock. I was able to remove the fingerprints but now the Screen Lock Type screen only offers pattern, pin, password or fingerprints. I want None...but it is in lightened font and says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.

Feb 8, 2016I want to set my lockscreen wallpaper to a pure black one, but when I do, it is not actually black. I have read others on androidcentral having the same problems but have yet to find a solution.
Please see attached screenshot for the issue I am having. Note that the wallpaper used in that screenshot is 100% pure black, but appears grey.
If I change the screen lock to "swipe", it is pure black, but I prefer to have the security of the fingerprint...
My device IS ROOTED and I have xposed/custom ROM installed, and I am sure there must be a config file or something that I could modify to remove this tinting that is occurring.

Feb 10, 2015Got the update last week and not enjoying it so far (have yet to do factory reset). My main problem (besides lag) is that my phone keeps going to Mute either when I grab it or whatnot, I'm not sure. I keep on Vibrate and keep it in my shirt pocket typically (at work). It seems that handling my phone I somehow change the speaker modes without knowing it. Is there any way to lock the mode so that it won't change when the phone is locked? I don't mind being able to change the volume of audio output when the screen is off but for it to be able to switch to Mute or On is not something I want.

This is really unsafe in the car if I must pick up the phone, enter PIN or password before I can make a call. Kind of goes against the meaning of "hands free". I expected to find a screen lock bypass for "trusted" devices or something similar, but so far I have not. My bluetooth receives calls fine when locked, I just can't initiate a call.

It's not the ordinary sound that can be disabled/enabled in Sounds and notifications -> Other -> Screen lock sound. I've tried to check and uncheck that option, which adds a "clicking" sound (not a one that I want), so that option seems to be working.
Extremely annoying that the unlocking sound cannot be removed anywhere in the phones Settings.Also, when I'm talking to someone on the phone, sometimes a watery, notification type of sound can be heard, but when looking at the phones display, nothing has happened that one should be notified about.
