Ok, this is a very basic question. I'm currently an Android user. Does the data connection turn off after some time when iphone is locked/sleep mode or does data connection always stay on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Bold 9900 for less than 3 months and in the last week I have experienced the following issue: The screen stays lit up constantly, which is making the battery run out very quickly. When I press the lock button the screen turns off for about 5 seconds, then lights up again, and stays lit. I can't see anything in the Options menu that will fix it. As I say, the problem has only been occurring in the last week.

I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.

what does this mean? i just got my iPhone 4 today and i was on the road (apple store is an hour drive from where i live) and i was texing my friends, had:
celluar data: OFF
enable 3g: OFF
data roaming: OFF
and i kept getting this response "turn on cellular data or use Wi-FI to access data" anyone know how to fix this? am i suppose to leave Cellular data on? i turned it off because i thought it would be wasting data. (got 200MB plan)
I was updating and installing to iOS4 when my iphone 3G suddenly says it can't read my SIM card and was locked. On my iTunes screen I was told I needed to insert a SIM card in order to continue with the installation of the iOS4. I used my friend's SIM card and my iphone was able to detect it however my itunes would only allow me to the option to restore my iphone which I did and now all my camera roll, notes, contacts and sms are gone and the backups in my iTunes are all post-iPhone-crash.

1. Removed all battery saving apps
2. Stamina is turned OFF
3. Background data restriction is OFF
4. Wi-Fi is ON, even while phone is asleep
5. Said apps are set to correct options for notifications, sound, downloading.
6. No change after upgrading the OS months ago
7. Heaps of Googling to try and find an answer.
Going on a cruise next week that has GSM roaming on it. I plan to leave the phone off unless I need to check in with someone in US.I know that the voice rate will be $4.99 per minute, but how do I turn off the data portion of the phone to not rack up crazy roaming data charges. I do have unlimited international email but suspect the cruise ship does not count.

When double quick on the home button, I have the symbol for the camera but it does not respond when tapping on it. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. My stepson lost his phone so I turned off service and reported it lost. In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad.
