Is it possible to show a mail or sms icon letting you know that you have new items when you phone is in the locked state so i don't have to unlock the phone to check if I have messages?

I have setup fingerprint for security and I would like to know - is there a way to hide notifications from the lock screen and to disable the notification tray access from the lock screen when the device is locked (while allowing everything when it's unlocked)? Even when my device gets locked everything is still accessible from the lock screen.
I don't want to disable the notifications altogether from the Sounds and notifications->notifications on lock screen menu.
I want to receive pop up notifications while my phone is locked. Right now the notifications do arrive when the phone is locked but I have to press the side lock button to view them. I would like them to appear on the screen itself so that i do not have to press the button again and again.

When double quick on the home button, I have the symbol for the camera but it does not respond when tapping on it. The camera button has two small bars above and two below, every time I tap on it, the lock screen jumps slightly, but no access. From the lock screen i however have access to my music volume. View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I tried to take a photo from my locked screen. Usually I just double click my home button and the camera pops right up and I can take a picture. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. OH, also on the locked screen, the camera icon has two lines, both over and under it.

My stepson lost his phone so I turned off service and reported it lost. In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad. The screen saver says in red Iphone is disabled connect to iTunes. I did bring it to my house to try and connect to itunes but when I did that it asks me to put the password of the phone into the phone, which I cannot do as it only will let me make emergency calls...

I just bought the Iphone 4S. I selected the option to have the screen locked after 5 minutes of non usage, with a code. When the phone goes into locked mode, it does not ring when people call me, instead they get directed instantly to my voice mail.
To avoid this, I've then selected the "never" option on the locking mode, so that the screen never gets locked : the calls do come through & ring, but the downside is that the screen remains lit, never goes dark, consuming batteries really quickly...
