BB Curve :: Link To A File From Home-screen?
Nov 4, 2010I have been using a BB Curve 8520 for about a year - quite happy with everything but need help in one area.There is an excel file that I need to refer to quite frequently when on the go. I send the updated file periodically from my laptop computer to the blackberry via email (and then detach the file to the BB flie system).However, to get to this file from BB, I have to follow a lengthly procedure as follows:
1. Press Berry key to see full homescreen
2. Click on "Applications" icon
3. Click on "Files" icon
4. Click on "File Folders"
5. Click on "Media Card" folder
6. Click on "BlackBerry" folder
7. Click on "documents" folder
8. Select desired Excel file and click to display contents
Instead, is there any way for me to create a link to the above file (or move the file) to a folder that I can create directly under HomeScreen, so that I can open the file in one or two clicks, rather than the 8 clicks above?I do know that you can create a new folder directly on the homescreen - but how do I move / copy a file to it?

Jan 19, 2010I downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

Mar 15, 2012When I doube tap the home button to use the camera from the home screen, it sort of 'hops' up about 1/2 a cm, but then bounces back down without opening the camera app, this is only since the upgrade to 5.1. I tried a hard reset, but no joy (and no shortcut to the camera either!!)

When double quick on the home button, I have the symbol for the camera but it does not respond when tapping on it. Mar 30, 2012Recently I tried to take a photo from my locked screen. Usually I just double click my home button and the camera pops right up and I can take a picture. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. OH, also on the locked screen, the camera icon has two lines, both over and under it.

Mar 12, 2012Ok, so my phone is locked and when I double click on the home button to quickly access the camera button while still being locked it is not working. The icon itself looks differetn and it pulls up the screen so I can slightly see the camera at the very bottom but then bounces back to the home locked screen. What is wrong and how can I fix it. I have a 2 year old and love this feature because it quickly captures the moment.

Apr 10, 2012I recently upgraded my iphone 3GS to the IOS 5.1 however i have noticed that now i am unable to use the camera whilst my phone is locked.
I can use the button but the screen kind of jumps up, like when you double click the home button, to reveal the bottom part of the camera, the shutter and camera/video camera slide, but then the locked page comes back down to hide the camera. Also the function button isnt properly formed, i have the camera but instead of being in a box just the top and bottom lines are shown.

Mar 23, 2012I'm with an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.
Since I upgraded to 5.1, I encounter the above mentioned problem. On tapping the camera icon on the locked iPhone screen, I can't launch the built-in camera. Nothing happens. (I must unlock the iPhone and tap the camera icon in order to take a picture).
1. I didn't have this problem after upgrading to iOS 5.0
2. I can still access the music buttons on the locked screen on iOS 5.1 though.
