I have been using a BB Curve 8520 for about a year - quite happy with everything but need help in one area. There is an excel file that I need to refer to quite frequently when on the go. I send the updated file periodically from my laptop computer to the blackberry via email (and then detach the file to the BB flie system). However, to get to this file from BB, I have to follow a lengthly procedure as follows:
1. Press Berry key to see full homescreen
2. Click on "Applications" icon
3. Click on "Files" icon
4. Click on "File Folders"
5. Click on "Media Card" folder
6. Click on "BlackBerry" folder
7. Click on "documents" folder
8. Select desired Excel file and click to display contents
Instead, is there any way for me to create a link to the above file (or move the file) to a folder that I can create directly under HomeScreen, so that I can open the file in one or two clicks, rather than the 8 clicks above?I do know that you can create a new folder directly on the homescreen - but how do I move / copy a file to it?
I downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications. They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?
Does anyone know, with stock apps only, is it possible to save a data file to to the homescreen for quick reference? At minimum, I would like a shortcut to the sepecific data file. Example; I use a simple Microsoft word calendar template to do scheduling for the month. I email the file to myself and save it to the messaging folder. Everytime I need to check who is working, etc....I have to go through the "My Files" shortcut, messaging, then the file I need. Would like to just save the data file or a direct link to it on my homescreen very similar to (gulp) windows.
Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
I've tried searching here and on Google, and have found the same question asked a few times but no answers. There is no tab key on the E72 keypad, so can anybody tell me is there an easy way to skip through a web page from link to link (or field to field)?
I own a BlackBerry Curve 8520. (v5.0.0.681). whenever i am using BBM or SMS, after about 20 seconds, the phone exits and goes back to the home screen. How can i stop this? A friend of mine has recently downloaded an app called 'LockApps'. I used it to lock Media, SMS and MMS and BBM.
The other day I updated my Quick Pull app. I forgot to reset the times in which i wanted it to reboot. Last night I remembered and set the time. I normally set it for 3, but since it was 3 it wouldn't be able to reboot until this evening. After I was done with my phone, I rebooted it manually by going to the app and clicking reboot. My battery was also low in the red so I stuck the charger in it. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead, if had fell on the floor and the charger came out. I put the charger back in a waited a little while for it to charge. When it came on, it only went to the Cricket screen, but would not go to the home screen. I took the battery out multiple times, I waited patiently, yet my phone is still stuck on the cricket screen.. Is there anyway to reset it so that it can work again?
I have a little symbol on home screen and don't know what this is. It is a RED triangle with an exclamation point in the middle of it and it has 57 next to it. What is this and how do I get rid of it?
I've had to have a number of 4 Blackberrys throughout the last 4 months as i keep having faulty ones. I have had my recent one for just under 3 weeks and I downloaded a theme for it. It was fine for a day or two but all of sudden started getting really slow. I did the battery pop and from then on everytime it loads up none of the buttons works and my Blackberry isn't responding to anything that I do. It is stuck on the home screen but whenever i press a button the screen lights up again but other than that nothing works. What can I do to either reset my phone or get rid of the theme without going onto my phone?
I just got a BB 8900 and I love it, but there is something that annoys me. When I set my home screen picture and then reboot for whatever reason, the home screen wallpaper reverts back to the default. How do I prevent that from happening?
I looked through the forum and couldn't find this question answered before, so please forgive me if it has.Is there any way to do away with the Home screen altogether? I'd like to be able to just have the Apps shown. I'm sure there's probably a theme out there to do it, but I'd rather not have to use a theme.
Why do I get 2 signal symbols on my phone. And everytime someone calls or I make a phone call I always hear the sound when you record something. I got my phone as a gift and there are many applications that are not available.
the last time my battery drained and upon recharging and restarting the phone loaded normally to the homescreen. But when I tried entered the password, it froze. After sometime it simply went white and displayed 'App Error 523'. I tried hard restarting it several times but to no avail. This has happening several times before, however all those times upon receiving a call the phone started working fine. That didn't work this time either.
I have a 8520 and would like to know how to change my home screen display so that emails, and SMS messages are in a list on my home screen, is this possible? If so how do you change it?
remove icons on your homescreen. From my reasearch it seems as if you can only hide icons and not delete them. I have the Blackberry Curve 8520, for some reason one of my BBM contacts is now an icon on my homescreen I have no idea how this has happend and how I can remove it
have an old blackberry curve that has an almost constant spinning hourglass an any screen i am in. it is like it is doing a mini reboot, as it there is a pause if i try to open mail, but then it catches up. sometimes i have to pull the battery and reboot that way.
no software updates available, new radio shack battery, trackball brought back to life 7 or 8 times & still working.
I've seen alot of themes that have it that way where it's got the calendar/tasks and the mailbox on the home screen, just wondering if there was a way to set that without a particular theme. anyone willing to navigate me through it? I tried screen/keyboard settings but no luck.
I woke up this morning and noticed I had this weird icon on my status bar at the top where it shows if you have a message or something. It looks like a white speech bubble with writing in it. So I guess what i'm asking is what is this icon? and how would I go about getting rid of it?
