IPhone Not Opening PDF From Link On Webpage
Aug 21, 2014I'm testing several landing pages that my marketing department has created to offer assets to partners. Each of these assets are PDFs that can be downloaded but when viewing the landing page on iPhone and clicking on the button to download the PDF only reloads the page. I've tried Safari and Chrome and turned off pop blockers and I have Adobe Reader and iBooks installed on my phone and nothing is working. The PDFs download perfectly fine on Android devices and on Mac and PC. I find is related to downloading PDFs from an email attachment.

BB Curve :: Link To A File From Home-screen?
Nov 4, 2010I have been using a BB Curve 8520 for about a year - quite happy with everything but need help in one area.There is an excel file that I need to refer to quite frequently when on the go. I send the updated file periodically from my laptop computer to the blackberry via email (and then detach the file to the BB flie system).However, to get to this file from BB, I have to follow a lengthly procedure as follows:
1. Press Berry key to see full homescreen
2. Click on "Applications" icon
3. Click on "Files" icon
4. Click on "File Folders"
5. Click on "Media Card" folder
6. Click on "BlackBerry" folder
7. Click on "documents" folder
8. Select desired Excel file and click to display contents
Instead, is there any way for me to create a link to the above file (or move the file) to a folder that I can create directly under HomeScreen, so that I can open the file in one or two clicks, rather than the 8 clicks above?I do know that you can create a new folder directly on the homescreen - but how do I move / copy a file to it?

BB Bold 9700 :: Removing A Web Link Icon From Home Screen
Jan 19, 2010I downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

Jul 21, 2012Has anyone experienced this problem before? When I try adding any shortcut to the home screen, it shows a "running circle" icon on the home screen. Looks like it's loading, but it's just like that forever. This happens to all available shortcuts and most of the widgets except for Clocks and Map Apps.My phone is updated to the latest Belle.

Feb 11, 2012I just got Belle on my N8 and I can't figure it out at all. I know it has to do with "hidden folders" on my E: drive (Not F in this case) I don't know where they could be or should be at this point). It also take a while for any previews to display.
I got 2 missing links that show up when I try to select a wallpaper (from the homescreen). At first I had none then 1 now 2. If I search for pictures from the gallery they don't show up at all (because they're hidden). If I could somehow soruce where they are I could remove them on my own.
I wish (how it was on Anna) that files in the wallpaper folder were the only one that could be found when changing wallpapers from the homescreen. Changing them from the galley doesn't work properly like it does from the homescreen (WTfail). How did I get into this mess? FaceContacts (Hidding that folder) and Trucaller (Hidding that folders cache) photos. I hide them so that they don't appear when selecting in Nokia Sleep Screen and changing wallpapers. I've deleted FaceContacts and removed those folders for now. I left TruCaller because I never saw those images appear so it wasn't the issue.
When I turn off & on my phone I can select a wallpaper again :/ At least the phone isn't slow

Apr 14, 2015The number one thing that frustrates me about most Internet Browsers is the inability to change the settings to have a black webpage background with white letters. White backgrounds are so hurtful on the eyes, especially with a big screen device like the N6. It's additionally a source of bigger battery drain to have bright white pages. Now, for those who remember, changing this used to be possible with the stock "Internet Browser" that came on the Android devices.
I currently use "UC Browser" due to it's ability to change the webpage background to a dark screen with Sepia-colored letters.
Are there any other Browsers that do this or present this ability? And I'm not talking about dimming the entire screen in a poorly implemented "Night Mode" (a correctly implemented one would completely switch the text/background without affecting images).
I'm constantly re-evaluating what I use and would love to have alternatives.
An additional bonus is the VERY strong built-in ad-blocking capabilities of "UC Browser". It completely blocks all injected ads. Go to AndroidCentral using Chrome and you'll see an injected box by "GoogleAdServices" pop-up at the bottom of your screen. The same page with "UC Browser" (with ad-blocking activated) shows nothing but the webpage. I like to have Ads blocked to save bandwidth/data usage, so that's an important feature. What Browsers (or specific extension) blocks these types of Ads (like the ones from Google)? I like Ghostery Browser for this but you can't export Bookmarks.

Jul 17, 2012I have a contact for my home landline number, and the number is correct (i.e. it works when I call home). The contact also has a picture, and a custom ringtone.When I phone the N8 from the home number, it doesn't use the custom ringtone, it doesn't show the picture, and when I look in the log, it hasn't recognised the call as coming from my contact, but it has got the correct phone number (proving that I'm not masking the number on calls from the home landline).
Is there something special I have to do to persuade the N8 to accept UK landline calls, and match them up with my contacts? I've checked my contacts, and only one contains the home landline number, so the N8 is not finding the wrong contact.My wife's mobile works just fine, so the basic mecanism is OK.
