Has anyone experienced this problem before? When I try adding any shortcut to the home screen, it shows a "running circle" icon on the home screen. Looks like it's loading, but it's just like that forever. This happens to all available shortcuts and most of the widgets except for Clocks and Map Apps.My phone is updated to the latest Belle.
Just updated to Belle this morning & having a problem installing widgets/shortcuts to the home-screen. It worked at 1st but now it stalls & the little circle just keeps spinning forever & does not do anything.
My N8 suddenly hung up and suddenly deleted all of my homescreens. It would have been okay for me to set all three screens back to their original configuration but unfortunately, I can't edit the main homescreen. I can edit the two additional screens but NOT the main (1st) homescreen. It just says homescreen is full! Last thing I installed was the Xmas theme Rugge from the Nokia store.
I asked this a long time ago for the Nokia Nuron, and there was no answer. I'm hoping that with the N8 there is a solution.
Is there any way to "lock" a N8, which allows anything to be clicked on or viewed, but does not allow any changes to anything without knowing a "key"?
I'm tired of letting people check out my phone, and then having to go through everything to make sure it is still the way I want it to be. I doubt there is any kind of answerr, but I figured I'd ask anyway, "just in case".
I do like showing off my phone, if someone is interested. I think it's rather dumb that anyone holding the phone can change things from pressing or moving the wrong thing.
I am in the messaging application, click to update mailbox and while it is trying to update the email application crashes and closes completely. I am returned to the home screen but now the shortcut I had for my email account inbox is gone, replaced by a shortcut to the music store. I had to manually fix this several times but then I discovered that just leaving it after a while the correct icon would reappear.
I have been a long standing and loyal customer of nokia and virgin mobile, but when you get a product like an n8 and when you have to go thorugh so much hassle with it in using it, problems with battery recharge, tap screens not working consistently etc, and then when you have to go through hoop after hoop in trying to get something fixed it just isnt worth it any more.Nokia and Virgin mobile have lost vtheir way in the basics they have forgotton who keeps them in business and for that we all now suffer.I can choose in the future to never use another nokia product and I can choose never to fly virgin or buy any virgin producy ever again. I feel pretty good now realising taht I have that choice.I need to go back to using the land line, you know, thats the one with gthe phone cponnected to the wall.
I did a software update via Nokia Suite as it said it had some new themes. While this was installing my N8 ran out of memory and the installation failed. When I checked my N8 the homescreen widgets and shortcuts had disappeared.
I have tried to re- add them but they do not appear on any of the homescreens.
My N8 only has 27mb left on the physical phone memory. I tried to clear some space through x-plorer but was only able to clear like 10 megs out of 250. i cleared messages, i tried tons of things, any recommendations? I don't install any apps to the phone and i try to keep my active apps to a low.
i have n8 belle, and have problem of low phone memory. I searched answers to this problem on the forum, all were related to deleting old messages etc. If i go to memory details via file manager, contacts and messages together only occupy 10mb. Most is taken up by 'other files'.I opened my phone memory via x-plore app, and i found a folder called Private. It has around 88mb memory. And it looks useless, it has files with names of apps that i have uninstalled ages ago. Can i delete the folder Private? How will it affect my phone if i delete it.?
Recently, i had removed all games and few applications , to make phone memory atlest 18 mb free. Then later i installed new applications on my Micro-sd card. everything is working fine. Then all of sudden after few days, My phone memory drops to 12Mb free. Why sudden consumption of phone memory and i tried removing internet cache and history saved. still my phone memory is at 12mb free. No new application is installed on phone memory. What could be the reason for this sudden and constant consumption of phone memory of almost 6mb
Electrify on U S Cellular. When moving from one home screen to another has just a slight lag or more of jerk then a fluid movement.
All the other menus or navigating around the phone is smooth as silk. I do run a live wallpaper but changing to a static one it seems the same. With all the horsepower this phone is supposed to have I expected those screens to just to fly by smoothly.
My 5530XM is acting up again (v.11 firmware). The symptoms are random disconnects from WLAN and, after doing a soft reset, unable to put shortcuts on the home screen (using the Shortcuts theme). I really think the problem is with the memory card because I can't turn the phone on with the card inside.
Is there a way to scan/repair problems with the memory card? I really, really want to avoid a hard reset. Last time I did that, I lost all my apps from the memory card (I have the Games Edition). I can try using PC Suite or Ovi Suite to back up my memory card apps, but I don't trust the suites that much. What I'd like to do is drag and drop my memory card apps to another location in my PC, but I cannot see the memory card apps in Windows Explorer.
i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?
I just got my E72. Replaced the memory card with a bigger one, then did an update...Now, I lost my shortcuts on the main screen.Bad news is that the old memory card is formatted, so I cant just reinstall by using that. I also tried a soft reset, which gave me the message: "Close all active connections" without any connections being active.
I wonder why my phone memory is almost full all the time. I dont have anythin on that memory, all applications are in mass memory and all pics and wids. I have tried to move data to mass memory but i have already moved all that i can and i still have only 7MB free space in phone memory. I cant even install new ovi store to my phone because I just dont have enough space. and I dont understand why it tryes to installa it to c: drive enethough my settings in ovi store tells it to install all things to mass drive.
I bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089
Today I launched TuneWiki for the first time. Before that my phone memory was normal (not low). And after I registered at TuneWiki, the app scanned my music, and after that I got an error saying that: Disk space exhausted. cleanup the disk or re-install application on another drive. Well, the truth is, that I can't even uninstall it, because I get almost the same error. Tried to install the app again without uninstalling but the same happened.
I cant scan phone memory of nokia 5233 using antivirus.when my phone is in mass storage mode via USB, it only shows Memory Card under my computer, It never shows phone memory. We also know that if we keep phone in ovi suite mode, it dont shows option to scan phone memory.
I am using Nokia 500. My question is how to delete unwanted files in C: Phone memory, which has 83MB SIS applications and 81 MB other files and why daily the free memory is getting reduced for example it was 100 mb earlier and I dint even installed new applications and it reduced to 20 MB, is there any option as we have in computer like clearing files in %temp% and prefetch .
I'm using 5530 XpressMusic phone for a year now. The problem is, I formatted my handset a month ago but now when I check the Memories, it says Phone Memory 1.3 MB Free (Almost Full) while my Memory card's memory is doing good. how to tackle with this situation? Because when I connect my phone to PC and check the Phone Memory, I only find files sizing 89 kb.
i have formatted my phone memory ,as of that the contacts are also deleted is there any way to restore them ,because the phonebook is very important for me as fast as possible , im out side my country now sorry if this is a repeated topic , but i searched the net before i finally landed here
