My N8 suddenly hung up and suddenly deleted all of my homescreens. It would have been okay for me to set all three screens back to their original configuration but unfortunately, I can't edit the main homescreen. I can edit the two additional screens but NOT the main (1st) homescreen. It just says homescreen is full! Last thing I installed was the Xmas theme Rugge from the Nokia store.

I'm sure when using Anna I could add one using 'add shortcut' but on Belle, 'add shortcut' only directs you to application shortcuts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad my Nokia N8 for about a year now, recently updated to Belle and I think it looks lovely but I've had so many problems since. Now this new one has started and I don't know if it's a bug that I can fix or not, randomly it loses the contact name associations when I open up the text message inbox. It just comes up with the phone numbers, the contacts are still there and when I reset the phone it goes back to normal.

The phone's slightly more than a month old and using the latest 11.x.x firmware. Did a bit of googling, and found several suggestions on how to save battery (turn off everything 'smart' on ur phone). That's not the point anyways. I need to find out why the battery level drops suddenly (like what happens when ur battery's dying out), and *not* why the battery lasts X hrs.
I'm not sure about this, but I think this mostly happens when the battery level is slightly below max, and I use any app that needs the GPS functionality. But then, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the GPS hardware in the phone, 'coz it usually gets a GPS lock in less than a minute (mostly within seconds). Could it be related to the algo used to show the battery level, or is it that its my battery that's faulty?
got my RAY upgraded to ICS and its good.But I am unable to delete some homescreens after the upgrade.

Is there any way to "lock" a N8, which allows anything to be clicked on or viewed, but does not allow any changes to anything without knowing a "key"?
I'm tired of letting people check out my phone, and then having to go through everything to make sure it is still the way I want it to be. I doubt there is any kind of answerr, but I figured I'd ask anyway, "just in case".
I do like showing off my phone, if someone is interested. I think it's rather dumb that anyone holding the phone can change things from pressing or moving the wrong thing.

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I've had my iPhone for probably about 4 months, and up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, WiFi was working fine on it. Then, one day, I left home and came back a few hours later, and I couldn't connect to the home network. I can still see the network, and it comes up with the signal strength and everything seems normal, but then I go to connect and a message pops up saying "Unable to join network [Home]".
There're 9 other devices on our router, which are an iPhone 4, an iPhone 3GS, an iPod touch, an Apple TV, a windows laptop, an iMac, a MacBook, an ipad, and a PS3.

This is bad, because I miss my calls, messages and appointments this way.Â
I don't know if the following has anything to do with it:Â I also have a defective Home button.
It works occasionally, so I usually use the top button on the device to turn it on and a soft button to get to the home page from anywhere.

And when it comes to the stage of "PREPARE" its loading, but then halfway through, the update suddenly stops and go back to the home screen of PC companion, I don't know what to do, I keep on repeating it but doesn't seem to pass by the stage of prepare.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a long standing and loyal customer of nokia and virgin mobile, but when you get a product like an n8 and when you have to go thorugh so much hassle with it in using it, problems with battery recharge, tap screens not working consistently etc, and then when you have to go through hoop after hoop in trying to get something fixed it just isnt worth it any more.Nokia and Virgin mobile have lost vtheir way in the basics they have forgotton who keeps them in business and for that we all now suffer.I can choose in the future to never use another nokia product and I can choose never to fly virgin or buy any virgin producy ever again. I feel pretty good now realising taht I have that choice.I need to go back to using the land line, you know, thats the one with gthe phone cponnected to the wall.

All the other menus or navigating around the phone is smooth as silk. I do run a live wallpaper but changing to a static one it seems the same. With all the horsepower this phone is supposed to have I expected those screens to just to fly by smoothly.
My display suddenly got blank but it is still on. It worked fine until I have no idea what happened to it.
I'm seriously considering not to buy Nokia ever again. First I had 6500 slide and it kept changing the settings itself, then I bought E52 but speakers didn't work from the moment I turned it off and had to bring it back to the store and now this with the new one.
For the last day and a half I've been unable to use my BH-103 Bluetooth earplugs, as the volume is very low. I can hear the content in a quiet room, but not in public or when moving about.
My wired earplugs and another Bluetooth headset have normal volume levels.
What can I check or change. I've powered the unit off overnite while charging, and I've cycled the power (off then on) countless times.
My Lumia 900's display suddenly went off. No, it didnt fall down or nothing of that sory happened. Everything else seems to be working, the phone is beeping on email alerts. I can connect to the computer and zune also shows it as connected. All the three buttons are lit as well. I tried restarting, hard reset everything - no improvement.Also tried restoring to previous version of software via Zune.

After I charged up the battery of my phone fully, my phone was suddenly shut it down. Afterward, I could not start up the phone with 'Nokia' word white screen only.
I went to Nokia Care Centre for repairing three times, but they could not find the root cause. Even they changed with the motherboard of my phone.
I bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan 2010. There was no issue for the first few weeks... My E7 was working quite ok when suddenly it shut down and doesn't start at all. I tried to charge it and still didn't do. Then I tried to make a hard reset by pressing the power button for 8 seconds, still no results. I tried to press the menu button with the volume and the power button together but still the phone is totally shut down.

Yesterday evening (european time) I saw update reminders on the "shop" tile and there were 3 or 4 of them (Nokia drive+ and some others that I don't remember). I was doing something and didn't give a thought but just let the updates to be downloaded and installed and they went fine as far as I know. Today when I tried to take photos the camera suddenly dosen't work anymore.
No matter if I click the hardware button or the camera app tile, it just flip back to live tiles. Camera doesn't work on Bing search either and not on any apps that utilized the camera.I wonder if anyone else have this problem or what I should do next. I have restart the phone a few times but it didn't work. I haven't hard reset it because I have so many stuff in the phone, if there is a easy way to do it I rather not hard reset it.
