How do I add a bookmark to one of my homescreens on Belle?
I'm sure when using Anna I could add one using 'add shortcut' but on Belle, 'add shortcut' only directs you to application shortcuts.
Does having more home-screens and shortcuts use more phone memory?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy N8 suddenly hung up and suddenly deleted all of my homescreens. It would have been okay for me to set all three screens back to their original configuration but unfortunately, I can't edit the main homescreen. I can edit the two additional screens but NOT the main (1st) homescreen. It just says homescreen is full! Last thing I installed was the Xmas theme Rugge from the Nokia store.

Is there any way to "lock" a N8, which allows anything to be clicked on or viewed, but does not allow any changes to anything without knowing a "key"?
I'm tired of letting people check out my phone, and then having to go through everything to make sure it is still the way I want it to be. I doubt there is any kind of answerr, but I figured I'd ask anyway, "just in case".
I do like showing off my phone, if someone is interested. I think it's rather dumb that anyone holding the phone can change things from pressing or moving the wrong thing.
I have just updated my N8 to belle refresh. Unfortunately, after updating it my N8 home screen is working as before; I can't add any shortcuts or widgets to the home screen BUT I can take out the existing shortcuts and widgets.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a long standing and loyal customer of nokia and virgin mobile, but when you get a product like an n8 and when you have to go thorugh so much hassle with it in using it, problems with battery recharge, tap screens not working consistently etc, and then when you have to go through hoop after hoop in trying to get something fixed it just isnt worth it any more.Nokia and Virgin mobile have lost vtheir way in the basics they have forgotton who keeps them in business and for that we all now suffer.I can choose in the future to never use another nokia product and I can choose never to fly virgin or buy any virgin producy ever again. I feel pretty good now realising taht I have that choice.I need to go back to using the land line, you know, thats the one with gthe phone cponnected to the wall.
View 4 Replies View RelatedElectrify on U S Cellular. When moving from one home screen to another has just a slight lag or more of jerk then a fluid movement.
All the other menus or navigating around the phone is smooth as silk. I do run a live wallpaper but changing to a static one it seems the same. With all the horsepower this phone is supposed to have I expected those screens to just to fly by smoothly.
When I try to add bookmark shortcut to the home screen it just opens bookmarks does not show up on the home screen.

The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.

I downloaded Skype from OVI and it opens properly etc.but does not allow me to enter my password etc. and then reverts to the main screen. I am with Vodafone UK.

I also checked my product code 0599330 in the Nokia Belle availability page and it says available.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a N8 for 1 and half years and very happy with it. I did not upgrade to Belle because I read lots of people that were not satisfied and wanted to go back to Anna.
Problems I read in the forum in various discussions:1) Camera performance in low light has deteriorated, I love my N8 mainly because of the camera
2) Battery life is worse
3) Applications will be lost and I will need to reinstall them all , plus could never get back the Nokia ones I had free through offers
4) The useful and effective Nokia clock/calendar/profile switcher has been showed the door in favor of a Andoid-style clock
5) Widgets are worse or less effective: the email and music widgets are very big that I don't think I will be very happy wasting lots of space with no alternative.
6) Widgets do not change with theme, I have my nice Anna email/music and other widgets that gets transparent or just adapt to the Theme I choose, I haven't seen that on Belle. That ugly email widget for example is always the same , white on blue.
So basically I feel that I give up lots of useful and efficient features just in order to get a OS that is more fluid , has more homescreens and I can move the widgets and shortcuts around??
I have looked around the forum and there are still people not satisfied but most comments are now old.

Its currently on Anna but want to upgrade to Belle so I install the Nokia suite 3.3.86 which is where my issues started. It takes me 20 minutes just to get to the software update tab due to the constant message of not responding! When I get to the update tab I search for updates and says after 10 minutes cannot connect to server. I tried re-installing but seems to be just as bad.I am running a 64-bit pc with high specs so doubt its my computer.

1. Lock the phone.
2. Send a text message to your number (Nokia N8).
3. When the text message is recieved the screen of the N8 displays the work "popUpClock" in the top left corner and the "time, Battery, and signal" icons on the right top corner.
4. The above message disappears in a split second and the screen remains blank for almost 2-3 mins before shutting off again.The best way to check the duration of the blank screen displayed is to keep the phone in dark.This bug could be one of the reasons for the battery draining for some users who recieve loads of text messages in a day.
