Ever since I resetted my phone every time i when I click on "+ Add Fingerprint" I immediately get an error message saying "Make sure that the Home key is clean and dry, then try again". I have resetted my phone again and it still says the same thing. I have tried wiping the cache and going into safe mode but still no luck. I have cleaned it alot of times and still no luck.

I am trying to turn on fingerprint lock. When I click on "+ Add Fingerprint" I immediately get an error message saying "Make sure that the Home key is clean and dry, then try again". It does this before even attempting to scan my fingerprint. When I click OK on the message it closes out of the add fingerprint screen straight away. When I go back in there I get the same message immediately.

I have entered my finger multiple times only to have ever it work for a while then start to fail at scanning. Most of the time it's just not working but other times it comes up with an error message. I have a tempered glass screen protector on it have set it up with it on so I don't think it could be the issue due the working the progressive failure.

I'm trying to set up the fingerprint lock on the edge 6. So I've gone to setting and security and all that. I've added both thumbs as fingerprints. And under lock screen type it says fingerprint. Yet every time I lock the screen and hit the home button it says swipe to unlock. Even tho I go back to settings and under lock screen it says fingerprints. What step am I missing? Also I restarted the phone and the first time I pressed the home button it asked for my fingerprint but then after that it went to swipe screen. What should I do to fix this so it's fingerprint every time.

When re-adding my thumb, I always place my thumb the same way that I do when I unlock it. I have tried adding my thumb to 2 fingerprint slots. No dice. I have to place my thumb on the scanner like 3-5 times before it reads my thumb.

After this no fingerprints are recognized anymore and I'm forced to log in with the Backup password. After a reboot the issue seems gone, but then it returns after a while (period between seems to vary). I have four fingers entered in the database, that normally all four work correct.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy SM-G920A S6 fully stock that was on 5.0.2. I recently got a update OTA for it to 5.1.1. Of course this update failed to load for some reason. I then downloaded the stock update 5.1.1 unmodified firmware and flashed it via Odin. Worked perfect. Then I tried using it for my fingerprint and this error came up. I've tried rebooting of course. I tried resetting through recovery and wiping cache but it the error still pops up when I use anything related to the fingerprint reader.
Methods that I tried to use to Fix:I read on a past thread, that if you disable the fingerprint service in application manager and then reboot and then enable, it fixes the issue. I tried that and it was the same thing. I've been reading a few Xda threads and it seems like there is no real fix for this. I have my device unlocked, not coded - european version. It was all good no problems with anything. Just last night i went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I noticed this error on my S6:
"An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. if this message appears repeatedly, restart your device."
Clearing cache did not work. Nor did the factory reset... Tried running fingerprint test by typing *#0*# on the phone app but it stopped with no result so I guess there must be something wrong with the fingerprint scanner.
I just got my phone. I realised that I do not have a shortcut for my files and the only way I can access it is through 'S Finder'. It is not on 'Apps' and how to create an icon for it on my 'Apps' or 'home screen'.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an S6 edge and for about a week now I am constantly getting error messages on the phone which are always that some app/Internet/samsung keyboard/touchwiz etc etc has had to stop. It can be sorted by closing the app, however sometimes the phone totally freezes so I have to manually reset it or it will reset itself. I have tried factory resets which have been to no gain and have even had the same error messages after a factory reset and there's nothing on the phone.

After installing the phone from the box all worked fine. Then suddenly message reminder stopped working despite all the settings are correct. After a complete reset (factory settings) all worked fine again for a few days and now again message reminder is not working.
