Is there a way to turn off the message preview feature? I really like using the stock messaging app, but on Textra you can have it where a pop up comes up with only the senders name. Is this an option for the stock app?
I have saw several posts on people wanting the message preview to just say new message or just the senders name,i figured out how to get it to just say new message!!!
I set my security up last night to recognize my fingerprint, when i did that there is a option in there for you to click that it "hides content" when you click this,it just shows "New message" on your lock screen.
Been with nokia (symbian) for years and years. just made the switch to android and having a few issues. Galaxy s6 edge.
my old nokia n8, I could choose to receive notification that only showed the contacts name and let me know I had a message from them. Is this possible on the s6? I do not want the message preview on my screen so that everyone can see the message. I just want the contacts name only.
So just got my s6 edge 3 days ago (13th.) I don't know if i just noticed now or what, but whenever i get a text message or facebook message, basically any notification, my screen wont turn on and display it. Just led blink + sound+ viberate. I went into my settings and tried basically everything possible. I have show notifications on lock screen and inside messages app its toggled to show on lock screen also.
I'e had an iphone before but my new one doesnt give me the option to turn off message previews. I know before it was settings-messages-show preview off but my new iphone 4 doesn't give me that option how can I turn off message preview!!
I have just got a new bb torch as I lost my old one and on this new phone when I receive a text message and click on the icon I am now getting a preview of the message in the notification bar.Can some please tell me how to turn this off so that it just shows who the message is from? This was not happening on my previous phone, is this something to do with the new software update?
Does anyone know if theres a way to turn off this annoying feature? I dont particularly want anyone near my phone to see who has messaged or the the first line of its content?
I don't want my texts to show the content on any screen. It seems the only way to stop this is by turning off notifications. Is there a way to change it to just say New Message?
A friend of mine has a Galexy S5 and uses BBM and now for some reason she is getting BBM Instant Previews at the top of her screen and she wants it turned off!
I am using Galaxy S5, andriod 5.0. How to hide the message content in the notification bar when i am using the phone? Let the notification bar just show "1 new message"?
So i did the Lollipop update yesterday on my Galaxy S5 and when i get a text message i no longer get a Preview on the lock screen or a popup once unlocked . I've checked on Messages/settings/Notifications that the Popup Display and Preview message are both checked . Also when i get a message and i push the power button there isn't an envelop symbol top left of the screen just the blue led thats flashes .
Last night we were at the bulls game and phone was working great, but then i randomly checked it again and it was off. It shouldn't have been bc it was charged! ! It wouldn't turn on, and still doesn't. ...i charged it up last night and when i woke up it was hour and still not turning on! !
I've had my s6 for about 3 months now and this is the first problem that i have encountered. So i was using my s6 edge on the way to work and it was working fine as usual, got in and put my stuff in my locker and started work. When i had finished i went to use my phone and the screen stayed black but i have the blue LED blinking slowly so the phone must still have power.
I have tried holding the power button down for varying periods of time which done nothing also holding the power button home and volume down buttons done nothing. I have tried plugging The phone into the charger and the red LED indicating that it is charging does not turn on, it is the same result noi matter which phone charger i use or which socket i use. Also if i try plugging it directly into my pc it is not detected.
I have been trying different options to extend battery life and read online about turning on greyscale via accessibility and hit home button 3 times however the webpage i was reading said nothing about turning it back to normal and any tips to extend battery life that work that will avoid my usage being effected ...
Usually a couple of times during the night I wake up to find my phone screen on. It's bugging me because this does not happen during the day. Otherwise I think I could turn off what is causing it to light up at night.
If the phone is plugged in and the screen is turned on (like when a notificaation comes in) the screen won't time out. It dims, but never shuts off. I have to shut it off manually.
I want to add a permanent signature to every text message I send out on my Samsung Galaxy S6. As it is very important that my name appears on every message because of my profession.
my battery was on 5% so I turned on ultra power saving mode. my battery eventually died, then when I plugged my phone back into the charger it wont let me turn power saving off. my drop down list isn't available and a lot of my setting are missing. ive tried restarting the phone and fully rebooting but nothing works and I cant turn the bloody thing off.
I've turned on photo backup for onedrive on my new s6 edge, just like my galaxy s3 was. works like a charm. I understand it's a different operating system, but this one is chirping every time a photo uploads. i can't seem to turn it off seperately from the rest of the notifications.
All I really want to be notified of is email and text messages, both through the native application.
I've found several times that my phone would wake in the middle of the night, which is rather annoying. I turned off notifications for any app that seemed to wake the phone, and I usually put the phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode at night. Now, the only thing that wakes it is when the battery becomes fully charged. How to stop the phone from doing this? I use the phone as my clock/alarm, so I don't want to turn the phone off. Since many people probably charge their phones next to their beds at night, this seems like a particularly dumb feature.
got an s6 edge and the message "the dock is connected" constantly keeps popping up on the screen. my phone is overheating because of this and its draining my battery.
Can't turn off keep all activities off in developer options it just resets back to on and it's making my phone lag and won't let me open camera settings.
Was just wondering if there is a way to disable keyboard sounds on the S6 Edge ONLY during a phone call. As, if the other party is on speaker phone and starts to type on the keyboard, all the click sounds go through to the second party and the voice goes very low.
