View 9 RepliesI know a lot of you here would love the battery life i am getting so i do not mean to sound like i am complaining! I am mostly just curious! Basically i was amazed with how good my battery life was initially. I think on my second full charge i managed 8h30mins screen on time and probably averaged somewhere between 7hours - 8h30mins for the fist few days (needless to say i made tweaks to achieve those results as i always do when i buy a new phone)
I have since disabled anther 2 or 3 apps and i have also turned off location and used black themed wallpapers purely just to test if i could get even further from the battery! However the opposite has happened! Suddenly iam doing well if i make it to 5h30mins
I know that may not seem bad .......... but its not great considering the amount of tweaks i have made and i am at a loss to understand how i was getting 7-8 hours screen on time for the first few days/week!
Iam wondering if i could have disabled an app that could be behind this?
When i viewed my battery usage before i would often see chrome, facebook etc using a little battery where as now its screen, android system, android os, cell standby, device idle etc and recently peoplestripe is appearing as using 1%...
I have a galaxy s6 edge running Android lollipop 5.1.1 and the paralex or 3d effect they call wallpaper motion effect isn't working. I have read that it doesn't work at all on 5.1.1 but all so there has been an update that makes it work. It definitely isn't working on my s6 edge.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated my Samsung edge to lollipop 5.1.1 , it seems that the parallax effect or the 3D effect has stopped working. I know that if I hold on the home screen and click the wallpaper settings, I get a little toggle which switches the motion effect on/off. But what ever I do it still makes no difference to the home screen. it still stays the same. Is there something that I am missing or can I downgrade to lollipop 5.0?

So i was using my s6 edge on the way to work and it was working fine as usual, got in and put my stuff in my locker and started work. When i had finished i went to use my phone and the screen stayed black but i have the blue LED blinking slowly so the phone must still have power.
I have tried holding the power button down for varying periods of time which done nothing also holding the power button home and volume down buttons done nothing. I have tried plugging The phone into the charger and the red LED indicating that it is charging does not turn on, it is the same result noi matter which phone charger i use or which socket i use. Also if i try plugging it directly into my pc it is not detected.
Sound? It's so annoying specially if you are using snap chat...

I've found several times that my phone would wake in the middle of the night, which is rather annoying. I turned off notifications for any app that seemed to wake the phone, and I usually put the phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode at night. Now, the only thing that wakes it is when the battery becomes fully charged. How to stop the phone from doing this? I use the phone as my clock/alarm, so I don't want to turn the phone off. Since many people probably charge their phones next to their beds at night, this seems like a particularly dumb feature.

So just got my s6 edge 3 days ago (13th.) I don't know if i just noticed now or what, but whenever i get a text message or facebook message, basically any notification, my screen wont turn on and display it. Just led blink + sound+ viberate. I went into my settings and tried basically everything possible. I have show notifications on lock screen and inside messages app its toggled to show on lock screen also.

I absolutely hate it its hard to explain but example: Scrolling up and down through settings or a website, its not lag its when you scroll really fast it has a jumpy affect or effect where it will scroll the opposite direction. It does not happen on other phones running lollipop except the Xperia Z2 I had.

The parallax effect on the desktop isn't working anymore; normally the icons on the desktop are moving in 3D effect but since the upgrade this is turned off. You can try to turn it on but even that doesn't make sense.
I did contact samsung about it and they said that this must be a lollipop issue. Update the lollipop 5.1.1 to solve this problem. Even after a factory reset the problem will not be gone but show up again after a while.
I updated my firmware this morning and gave the phone to my son so he can play with it, and he dropped it...
It wasn't a big deal, it fell maybe 2 feet into a carpet. But the thing is, the background was still, there is no more parallax effect, even after reboot, and i've notice this right now at night.
Recently got galaxy s6. I am facing one issue, my front camera lags in no effect mode especially in low light. As soon as i click wkde mode lag goes away. With 3rd party app front camera is not lagging.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got my S5 today, upgraded from my three and half year old S2 Skyrocket, However, it seems to have some weird default "unlock effect" where these stupid bubbles of colors appear wherever you touch or swipe on the lockscreen. I've searched around for how to get rid of it, but everything I've found says go to the Lock Screen settings menu and change the "unlock effect." But the lock screen settings menu on my phone doesn't have that option. I tried searching in the settings for "unlock effect" and it comes up with a result, but when I click it, it just takes me to the lock screen settings--which as I said has no option for unlock effects.Did they remove the ability to change/remove the lockscreen effect in 5.0 or am I just completely missing something?

When viewing photos, videos, websites, etc. my phone used to smoothly rotate the screen from portrait to landscape view (and vice versa) as a single "window". So as I'd tilt the phone and whatever I was viewing would remain on the screen and rotate with the phone. All smartphones have this effect so I hope I'm explaining it clearly. Now it doesn't have that rotating effect any more. I can still view things in portrait and landscape, but instead of rotating with the phone as I tilt it, whatever I'm looking at on the screen disappears from one view and reappears in the other. Although the functionality is still there, the look and feel and overall experience is diminished.
I've checked the settings and screen rotation is turned off. I've turned it on and off while rotating the screen and the problem remains. I've powered down my phone and removed the battery a bunch of times and nothing's changed. I even reset the phone in safe mode and that didn't work either. Is there another setting that turns this effect on and off? This problem just appeared out of the blue the other day.
