View 1 RepliesHow to use Google Voice as my default SMS app. My Note 3 and every other phone I've used in the past few years has all had this as an option. I don't really want to use hangouts as it's just not really setup as a SMS app yet. For now I'm using Hangouts but I'm not that happy about it.

Periodically I use Google Voice on the stock keyboard to text. However I noticed when I try to exit Google Voice by clicking the "X" the application freezes and I can't exit until it times out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting used to my s6. Sometimes I am driving and there could be an accident and I need to try and grab my phone and put it in the phone holder in my car then navigate to google maps to find an alternate route by hand. I am wondering if I could make this easier by doing some of this with my voice. I know it is possible to search a specific place after pressing the voice icon manually after launching google maps, but is there a way so I can just put the phone in the car holder then use my voice to launch maps and say what my destination is?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T S5. I also have a Google voice phone number. When people call my actual phone they get the voicemail for Google voice. How can I fix it so that when my ATT number is called they get my voicemail and when my Google voice number is called they get my voicemail for that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to send a text, but didn't want to use my actual number. I read that Google Voice can do this. I downloaded the app, but can't see anywhere in the app that allow me to text, or do anything really. How to use Google Voice?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am using a Verizon Galaxy S6 and have been using Google Voice for voicemails. Recently, I discovered that sometimes my voicemails come through several hours after the call. This does not happen all of the time, but it does happen some. It is also pretty inconvenient. I do not want to go into the app and press refresh after missing a call, just to see if I have a voicemail. I did not have this issue with my Galaxy S3 or Moto X. Also, I have the sync, notification, etc settings all good to go.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get into the car, I sometimes plug the S5 into my car stereo's aux input via a 3.5mm audio cable. I can play anything just fine(streaming music or MP3/FLAC/WAV files stored on the phone). When I'm listening to the car stereo itself(CD, FM/AM, etc), I usually leave the phone plugged in. If I want to use Google Maps voice navigation, I'll have to physically disconnect the 3.5m audio cable if I want to hear the voice navigation on my phone. (again, this is when I'm only playing a CD on the car stereo)Is there a way to get around this so that I don't have to plug/unplug in the aux input cable all the time?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust made the switch from iPhone to Samsung S6 Edge. Therefore I decided to leave iTunes behind and switch to Google Music. I transferred all my music to Google Music and works great from my laptop. The problem is when I try to listen to my music on Google Music from my phone. It only allows me to listen to all of it if I am on wifi. But if I enable the "downloaded only" option only a few of them downloaded. The other ones are grayed out and can't play them unless I am connected to wifi. I have already spent several days trying to make this work! - Yes! I am logged in with the same google account on my laptop and phone.

View 24 Replies View RelatedWith my old phone - the HTC Evo LTE - I used to be able to text over wifi with the Google voice app. I can no longer do that with this phone. I can go to the Google voice website and send and receive texts over wifi that way, but I don't get notifications that way. Is there some setting that is off in the app? Or did they just decide to disable that feature? Google hangouts doesn't text over wifi either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my Xperia Z2 today, and I found that teh Google Now voice option doesn"t work, It looks like it's recording, even when there's no sound at all. It completely ignores me when I speak. There is no relation to my speech and the red indicator flashing. Then it goes back to "Say "Ok Google" or tap mic". In fact other voice functions such as in the google play store, or google maps, or google voice typing don't work and exhibit the same bizarre behavior. Just to find out, I tried voice functions on a third party keyboard app (Swype) which doesn't seem to work too.
I have done a factory reset, updated to the latest firmware, updated the apps, but still the problem persists. I suspect the hardware is to blame, not the software.
So, here is the deal. I canceled my AT&T contract and went out a purchased HTC One developers edition (64g). Dialing out and getting calls, have no issue. Load up Google Voice app. Now when I make a call the screen goes black right away.
Steps to reproduce:
* Unlock phone (just screen not dropping new image on phone or anything)
* Start HTC one phone app (after loading google app on phone first).
** After installing google voice, tell it that you should use it for all outgoing calls.
* Go to history (I see it the most here)
* select phone number in list
I'm locked out of my phone. Whenever my phone restarts, it for some reason always changes the default input to Google Voice Input. I just recently changed my security from a Pattern to a Pin. The only problem is now I can't enter my unlock PIN with the google voice keyboard. I said the numbers followed by "enter" and "return" or the numbers by themselves but it didn't work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have google voice on Verizon and Advanced calling activated. When I call someone else using the native dialer using GV to make the call with advanced calling I do not get the HD icon, but the Camera buttons can be pressed for the video call, but when I do it says "the other person can not accept video calls at this time".
The other person's G4 Camera buttons are grayed out. When I dial the same person not using my GV number everything works the way Advanced calling should, I get the HD voice Icon and we can do a video call. How to get Advanced calling to work with GV on Verizon?
