What should I try? Factory reset/turn in phone, or are there other things I should try?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a SM-G900F (no carrier) European S5, bought like a couple months ago, not rooted or installed any custom rom, full stock on 5.0.
When I enable Mobile Hotspot or share the connection through USB, the other devices connect just fine, but no data is received at all.
* Tested with both a laptop and another phone
* To rule out carrier restrictions, I put the SIM in a Nexus4 and enabled Wifi tethering, then connected to it with the S5, works np, just not the other way around.
I read about apps that allow tethering of other devices without the additional tethering plans... foxfi was one that was suggested... however, I don't think it is working on the S6. Any app that works?

So, if I register my computer, I cannot also use my iPhone or iPad, even if the MBP is off. Does the iPhone allow tethering while on Wi-Fi, not on 3G? In other words, if I register my iPhone for Wi-Fi Internet access with the hotel, would I be able to use it as a 'Personal Hotspot' to get Internet access on the MBP and iPad? Secoond question. I've been looking for a very particular tethering solution and so far been unable to find anything: I would like to use my phone's wifi connection on my laptop via the USB cable (I have a 5530 XpressMusic).
Using Ovi Suite, I can use the phone as a modem (i.e. use its 3G connection), but that's not what I am looking for. My laptop's WiFi module is broken, but my phone's wifi is working just fine. So my idea was to tether with the phone to share the connection with the laptop.
Anyone figured out a way to do this yet? I was thinking about MiWi but rock app last time screwed up my iPhone pretty badly. Is there a way to obtain this through cydia?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know this sounds strange but i travel alot and recently hotels sell Internet PER device, so when i get internet on my laptop i cant get it on iPhone or i have to pay for 2nd device, I was thinking is it POSSIBLE to get the internet on my iPhone and tether it with my laptop? this way when i am in my room i can use my laptop and when i am in lobby or at meetings my phone got the internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNow, I turn on internet sharing with my Lumia 900 and it simply does not appear in my WiFi networks list on my iPad, MacBook Pro and iMac (OSX 10.7.4) or my Lenovo G575 (Win7 x64).I try to manually connect in both OSX and Windows but it either causes the trouble shooting wizard to appear (Windows) or throws an error saying either the network does not exist or the connection has timed out (OSX/iPad).
When I first got the phone the beginning of June, I was able to tether to my computer at work whilst the internet was down (Fujitsu Lifebook, Win7 Pro x64) - I did this twice without a problem and was able to get on the net (I'll actually check this still works tomorrow; if it doesn't then it may be a hardware issue).
To my understanding doze goes into a deep sleep when the phone is off. If i tether will doze still be active ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, a small amount of water hit my phone/screen. Honestly, it didn't seem like enough that could get in and do damage. But I didn't realize it, so it sat there for a little bit before I saw it and wiped it down. Worse things have happen to my phone and it wasn't harmed, but this is the only reason I can think for it to be acting this way.
Anyway, I plug it into my charger and it starts going wonky. Kept disconnecting and connecting to the charger (even though it was staying plugged in), then it said it was conencted to the dock, (don't have one), then it enabled some power sharing mode, how. Just got all wacky. then it started disabling things because the battery was overheating.
I blew into the open ports with a small lawn blower and let it sit. It's still not acting right today. If I turn the phone back on, it will eventually start to over heat again. I noticed my backlight capacitive buttons keep lighting up as if the screen in being touched. If I open an app, the app opens then goes away as if the back button is being touched. So I can't exactly open anything!
I have brought s6 its a good device but when i turn video recording its over heat and the " phone it will say this device is very hot try again when cool down and then camera don't work". After reading that i have ran to costumer care they have checked it and saying we cant give u a replacement and say they can only give replacement when the temperature is at 49c what should i do!!

I had to charge my phone and when on or off it wouldn't charge due to overheating. My battery drained and again tried to charge with no luck, but this time instead of the normal charge battery display it showed a red exclamation mark in the middle with a red light at the top of the phone. I have tried everything: Power and volume down button, reboot, factory reset and still same message when charging.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to tether my Sony Erricson Xperia Neo to a laptop pc. Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola RAZR international GSM version (XT910). It is an unlocked phone without any contract or carrier branding.
I seem to have issues whenever i try using my phone as a WiFi Hotspot. When the Hotspot is turned on the data connection drops. I have tried this while using the device as a hotspot for my iPad and/or my laptop. I'm able to browse normally when i'm directly browsing on the phone. But the moment i begin to use the phone as a WiFi Hotspot i see the data connection immediately getting terminated. Even the data toggle widget i have on my home screen gets toggled off automatically. It comes back up once the device i tether from stops trying to access the hotspot.
This is not a carrier limitation. I tried using the same SIM Card on 2 other unlocked phones (Xperia X10i and Galaxy S2) and they both tether just fine. I also contacted my carrier and had the network and APN settings reset while using the RAZR. That didn't seem to solve the issue either. I have tried every solution that i know of. I have even reset the phone to factory settings a couple of times. But nothing seems to work. There are no Smart Actions setup that conflict with the data connection. I'm totally clueless about what is causing this issue.
It is really frustrating to know that i am able to tether even on a two year old Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i that's running Android 2.3.3 but not on the brand new RAZR for which i had to pay around $700.

For the past a month my phone has been heating up more than usual. No overheating warning or random restarts. I played hearthstone and other graphic intensive games and my cpu temp spikes up to 75c then goes back to 60c+ (using Cpu Temperature Pure). I started using the app when I felt that the device is getting hot. I am a noob at all of this and I want to know is the app giving me the right numbers? Any other way that I can check if my device is having hardware problems?

My phone gets very hot and a notification pops us that says "Closing apps to cool down", all of my unnecessary apps close and then my home-screen image changes to the default. This has happened about 3 times and I am wondering if it may be a defect in my phone. Ever since this issue started my battery life has been terrible it only lasts about 6-7 hours. I wipe cache pretty much every week and I am on Verizon.

I fully charged the battery and within 2 1/2 hours the phone went from 100% battery life to 8% without me using it. The phone itself also became very hot to touch, both front and back.
