View 1 Replies View RelatedIts still over 2 weeks before the iPad Launches and we already have a solution Very Simple really here is what you need.
1. First you will need a jailbroken iPhone, check jailbreakmatrix.com on howto jailbreak your device
2. You will need to install the Rock Installer when you jailbreak
3. Second head over to Rock Your Phone and sign up for a free account
4. Install MyWi with Rock and start it up
Here you create your Wifi Name, Password and Encryption and then goto your iPad and join the Wifi Connection, No jailbreak no software no nothing required on the iPad
We are located in Canada and know that the iPad 3G is coming with micro Sims which you can't get here yet so don't waste that 6gb data plan you have, and lets put it to use. This way you can also grab it on April 3rd when it launches and don't have to wait for the iPad data plans to be released from the carriers?
For your jail breakers and iPad owners. You can successfully use mywi tethering and the iPad to run off 3G anywhere. I'm posting this tethered to my iPhone and using the iPad.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am travelling and am in a hotel that has expensive wireless Internet that works only on one registered device. So, if I register my computer, I cannot also use my iPhone or iPad, even if the MBP is off. Does the iPhone allow tethering while on Wi-Fi, not on 3G? In other words, if I register my iPhone for Wi-Fi Internet access with the hotel, would I be able to use it as a 'Personal Hotspot' to get Internet access on the MBP and iPad? Secoond question. If the iPhone is locked to my provider in Canada (Rogers), does this means taht the 3G data is also locked, or is it only the voice/SMS features that are locked?

I'm not exactly sure if I'm correct, but on my iPad, the wifi doesn't disconnect after you put it in standby, but the iPhone and iPod touch does. Any cydia apps that will accomplish this?

I've been looking for a very particular tethering solution and so far been unable to find anything: I would like to use my phone's wifi connection on my laptop via the USB cable (I have a 5530 XpressMusic).
Using Ovi Suite, I can use the phone as a modem (i.e. use its 3G connection), but that's not what I am looking for. My laptop's WiFi module is broken, but my phone's wifi is working just fine. So my idea was to tether with the phone to share the connection with the laptop.
My Samsung Galaxy S6 is new and I am using a root wifi tether. It gets extremely hot (attached picture with CPU-Z with temperatures). Is this typical?
What should I try? Factory reset/turn in phone, or are there other things I should try?
Has anyone been successful tethering their E6, I am trying to utilize the JoikuSpot app and I not having any success.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAbout two months ago, there was a lot of buzz on the net about "lumia 800 gets wifi tethering in the next update"Well... Am I missing something important on my phone or is the wifi tethering still not there? I could use it, especially since Joikuspot is not available for this phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I updated my iPhone 4 (AT&T) and iPad 2 (Verizon 3G, wifi) to 5.1. Since the update (went flawlessly), I have been unable to connect to wifi networks anywhere. All that I get is the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect (but never actually does). I have RESET all Network connections numerous times, did the 'Forget this' connection on everything, etc. They will no longer connect to places that I have always connected to (Home network, CLE Airport, Hilton, Work, etc...). I can connect to all networks fine with my laptop and blackberry, but I just get the constant connection circle with my iPhone and iPad 2. I have tried:
1. Reboot (Soft)
2. Reboot (Hard (Home and Power button)
3. Forget WiFi connection
4. Reset Network Connections
5. Tried 6 different Wireless (wifi) networks that I have always been able to connect to with no luck.
6. Airplane Mode with wifi on...
7. Turned 3G off...

iPhone 4, iOS 5.1, WiFi will not connect.
Has anyone's iPhone 4S and iPad 2 experience the same problem after the iOS 5.1 update? When the device is left (screen) on, not on standby mode.
Both my iOS devices seem not able to lock on to my home wifi network (AirPorts), after a while they would drop out and on screen shows the 3G icon, I did not have this problem prior to 5.1 update.
Yes I have tried: Forget Network - and re-log in againReset all Network settingsTurn device on and offShut down and turn on home AirPort network
I really do not know what else to do. But if I put the device to sleep, i.e. I always have my iPad 2 on standby, when I turn it on, the wifi would be there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNow, I turn on internet sharing with my Lumia 900 and it simply does not appear in my WiFi networks list on my iPad, MacBook Pro and iMac (OSX 10.7.4) or my Lenovo G575 (Win7 x64).I try to manually connect in both OSX and Windows but it either causes the trouble shooting wizard to appear (Windows) or throws an error saying either the network does not exist or the connection has timed out (OSX/iPad).
When I first got the phone the beginning of June, I was able to tether to my computer at work whilst the internet was down (Fujitsu Lifebook, Win7 Pro x64) - I did this twice without a problem and was able to get on the net (I'll actually check this still works tomorrow; if it doesn't then it may be a hardware issue).
My Samsung Galaxy S6 is new and I am using a root wifi tether. It gets extremely hot (attached picture with CPU-Z with temperatures). Is this typical? Is this dangerous?
What should I try? Factory reset/turn in phone, or are there other things I should try? Or should I just deal with it.
To my understanding doze goes into a deep sleep when the phone is off. If i tether will doze still be active ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI never had the issue with the 2G/3G/3GS, but once I got an iPhone 4 at launch and then the 4S, the issue has always been the same. It doesn't matter which network I connect to. Websites load incredibly slowly, apps download slowly, and it's impossible to stream anything or install an iOS update via wi-fi.
I connect to the same networks on my iPad 2 (as well as multiple laptops, both PCs and Macs) and it's always very, very fast.
The funny part to me is that the router is an AirPort Extreme, though I have the same issues with both Cisco and Netgear routers (haven't had any others to try).
My Ipad and mac laptop can connect to my wi-fi router, but my iphone won't. I've reset network settings, but this didn't resolve the problem.

I can't connect to wifi with my iphone 5s or my ipad mini. It this related to the update? I can't update either without a wifi connection. My work bans iTunes, so even though I have a computer, I can't update that way, either. My husband has the 6 (which is fully updated with the new ios) and has no problems with the same wifi signal.

I've been trying to tether my Sony Erricson Xperia Neo to a laptop pc. Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.
