how do i connect iphone to my ipad
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy my iPhone and iPad suddenly won't sync to my MacPro. They have both been syncing no problem until today. Using iTunes 10.6.1 and neither device appears in iTunes. However if you go into devices in preferences both products are listed. Tried to sync via WiFi and that failed also. However they do appear on the other Macs but I need them to sync to the MacPro. Went through the troubleshooting list on the Apple Support page, have tried different USB slots, cables etc but still can't connect.

I'm not exactly sure if I'm correct, but on my iPad, the wifi doesn't disconnect after you put it in standby, but the iPhone and iPod touch does. Any cydia apps that will accomplish this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4S that I use as a personal hotspot for my iPad when I'm away from home. My bf has an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 that will automatically connect to my personal hotspot without me having to do anything with my 4S. My iPad however requires that I unlock my 4S, go to the personal hotspot settings page and then it'll connect. I'm trying to figure out why the iPhone 4 connects to the personal hotspot automatically when the iPad won't. Both connect via wifi. Bluetooth is too slow with the personal hotspot, so I just don't use it.

Anyone figured out a way to do this yet? I was thinking about MiWi but rock app last time screwed up my iPhone pretty badly. Is there a way to obtain this through cydia?

Is it possible to use an iPhone 4 to obtain data for an iPad with WiFi only?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I updated my iPhone 4 (AT&T) and iPad 2 (Verizon 3G, wifi) to 5.1. Since the update (went flawlessly), I have been unable to connect to wifi networks anywhere. All that I get is the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect (but never actually does). I have RESET all Network connections numerous times, did the 'Forget this' connection on everything, etc. They will no longer connect to places that I have always connected to (Home network, CLE Airport, Hilton, Work, etc...). I can connect to all networks fine with my laptop and blackberry, but I just get the constant connection circle with my iPhone and iPad 2. I have tried:
1. Reboot (Soft)
2. Reboot (Hard (Home and Power button)
3. Forget WiFi connection
4. Reset Network Connections
5. Tried 6 different Wireless (wifi) networks that I have always been able to connect to with no luck.
6. Airplane Mode with wifi on...
7. Turned 3G off...

Has anyone's iPhone 4S and iPad 2 experience the same problem after the iOS 5.1 update? When the device is left (screen) on, not on standby mode.
Both my iOS devices seem not able to lock on to my home wifi network (AirPorts), after a while they would drop out and on screen shows the 3G icon, I did not have this problem prior to 5.1 update.
Yes I have tried: Forget Network - and re-log in againReset all Network settingsTurn device on and offShut down and turn on home AirPort network
I really do not know what else to do. But if I put the device to sleep, i.e. I always have my iPad 2 on standby, when I turn it on, the wifi would be there.

Is there a problem connecting Iphones (5s) and IPADs with aol and gmail mail servers lately ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI never had the issue with the 2G/3G/3GS, but once I got an iPhone 4 at launch and then the 4S, the issue has always been the same. It doesn't matter which network I connect to. Websites load incredibly slowly, apps download slowly, and it's impossible to stream anything or install an iOS update via wi-fi.
I connect to the same networks on my iPad 2 (as well as multiple laptops, both PCs and Macs) and it's always very, very fast.
The funny part to me is that the router is an AirPort Extreme, though I have the same issues with both Cisco and Netgear routers (haven't had any others to try).
I can't connect to wifi with my iphone 5s or my ipad mini. It this related to the update? I can't update either without a wifi connection. My work bans iTunes, so even though I have a computer, I can't update that way, either. My husband has the 6 (which is fully updated with the new ios) and has no problems with the same wifi signal.

Will a screen saver or 'display sleep' stop the remote from working? My mac is set to never sleep, but when I activate it after long periods of inactivity I notice that my Wi-Fi has to reconnect. I'm assuming the wi-fi drops out while the mac is not in use (though itunes is still playing music), and I cannot connect via the Remote app.

All devices surfing wirelessly on Airport Express.Replaced Airport Express with Time Capsule.Problem: Wife's iPhone4 (5.1.1) can not surf on wifi provided by my time capsule. All my other devices (iMac, Mac Air, iPad and my iPhone) can. Wife's iPhone can surf on an unsecure network somewhere nearby in my apartment complex. (Which to me, rules out a hardware problem).
Steps taken: Tapped iPhone wifi On/Off multiple times with no change. "Forget this network" multiple times with no change. Reset iPhone Network Settings multiple times with no change. Restored iPhone using iTunes as New iPhone once with no change. (Since doing that, I have restored with back up of iPhone settings and data.) Powered Time Capsule on/off several times with no change. Turned wireless security off with no change. Security is back on. It is WPA 2 Personal with a lengthy password. I'm not getting the "incorrect password" msg. Renewed lease multiple times with no change.
Other indications: 3G is in upper left. Status wheel is spinning next to my network's name. On the initial "Settings" window, my network name is shown (as if it were connected. But tapping it and going to the "wifi networks" window shows the list of available networks with the status wheel spinning next to mine.) Tapping the blue arrow on my network name leads to the window that has "forget this network" at the top, and a list of blank fields: IP address, subnet mask, router and so on. DHCP is chosen, HTTP proxy is OFF. Sometimes, the top two fields (ip address and subnet mask) have values filled in, but the rest of the fields don't.
On my Time Capsule, as seen via Airport Utility (V5.5.3), 3 devices are shown as connected. Clicking this provides a listing. My wife's iPhone wi-fi address is listed. It's "rate" however is 1. My imac is 216 and my iphone is 65. BTW, iOS devices drop off the list when they go to sleep. No big deal there.
Back to Airport Utility, in the summary tab... status is normal, version is 7.6.1, wireless mode is "create a wireless network", security is "wpa/wpa2 personal", channel is 149 auto and 1 auto (I tried changing 1 to 11 with no change), connect using "ethernet" and finally my IP address begings with 76. 76.xxx.xxx.xxx
Moving to the "Wireless" tab of Airport utility... wireless mode is "create a wireless network", radio mode is auto, radio ch. selection is auto, wireless security is wpa/wpa2 personal, "remember password in keychain" is checked. Now Clicking on the "wireless network options" button..... 5ghz is not checked, country is USA, multicast rate is "low", t-mit power is "100%", WPA group key timeout is 1 day (it used to be 1 hour but this has made no change in the problem), "use wide channels" is not checked, "create a closed network" is not checked.
MAC access control is not enabled. But it was enabled previously and I added my devices by their Wi-Fi addresses one at a time until i decided to turn it off due to this problem. this resulted in no change with the problem.
Personally, I feel the prob lies with the DHCP and ip address and related fields, but I don't know enough about what their values should be in relation to my other devices to alter them on my own.
