Whenever I connect my iPad or iPhone to iTunes, I am asked to update the settings for the iPad. Why is this, and is it something I can turn off?

why my iPhone and iPad suddenly won't sync to my MacPro. They have both been syncing no problem until today. Using iTunes 10.6.1 and neither device appears in iTunes. However if you go into devices in preferences both products are listed. Tried to sync via WiFi and that failed also. However they do appear on the other Macs but I need them to sync to the MacPro. Went through the troubleshooting list on the Apple Support page, have tried different USB slots, cables etc but still can't connect.

Will a screen saver or 'display sleep' stop the remote from working? My mac is set to never sleep, but when I activate it after long periods of inactivity I notice that my Wi-Fi has to reconnect. I'm assuming the wi-fi drops out while the mac is not in use (though itunes is still playing music), and I cannot connect via the Remote app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had to reformat my PC for some reason and download iTunes afresh. So none of the history of iTunes remains. I have got the apps back by going to the purchased section. But I do not have the information on all the songs, videos etc that I had included from my vast collection in the iTunes library. I now want to upgrade my iOS and I believe I will lose all data, including all media when I do that.
1) Is there any way to update iTunes to my iPhones settings, including all media etc.? Purpose is to ensure I do not have to go back and create all the playlists etc. from scratch on iTunes before I upgrade my iOS.
2) For future reference, is there any way to backup the iTunes library itself?
3) A backup, per my understanding, will not help with any media I have included in the library - is that right?

My phone said to download update so I did which then lead to the itune connect screen. I connected my phone to the PC and opened itunes which gave me the message that it did not recognize my phone and would have to restore factory setting. I tried to reboot my phone by holding down both buttons (no red slider ever appears) until it turned off. Once I turned it back on it went right back to that screen. I tried to restore factory setting and it gave me an error.
This is now know as the SCREEN OF DEATH!!!!!
