something has put my phone on mute.. i have 2 apps that i'm sure are the culprit.. they're cmsecurity and locale.. i've tried everything i can to get my ringer back.. the thing is, the notifications tells me when a text comes through..i've uninstalled both and still the phone is on mute.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen my phone is locked I press the home button and nothing happens. I press it again and nothing happens. I can't see anything. If I do my unlock pattern it works but I still can't see anything. If I press the lock button twice it will then light up the screen. I've changed launches and it still does this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile I was charging the phone with lead to my PC i turned the phone on, Then blue light LED came on and nothing else happens next.. i have tried all the buttons, and everything fails. I even wiped the Data on the phone too!
When i try pressing the different buttons to start the phone it comes up as normal with samsung galaxy s6 powered as android then after that just black screen with the blue led light stuck on, but when i charge it it goes to charge screen when i press power button and down..
When I change the position of the Mute/Silent switch, I get the icon to change (either the bell or the bell with the line through it), but the phone continues to right and never goes on silent. If the icon changes, it seems the switch must work physically, right? As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings.

I seem to be missing 1 option tho, on the S2 I would plug to AUX port on car stereo from headphone jack (straight AUX cable - nothing fancy) and could listen to music and hear calls via car speakers, also on the call my phone mic would pick up my voice so with the phone on the dash mount I could easily make/receive calls, on the S5 however the mic seems to be muted when aux cable plugged in (same with headphones) and I have to unplug the cable or headphones to have the recipient hear me, am I missing a setting somewhere?

When i'm on a phone call it automatically brings up the dial pad instead of going to the standard options like speaker phone and mute and all that. i often switch to speaker phone when on a phone call and i have to click twice when i could just click speaker phone.its just annoying i was wondering if there is a way to switch it to default to the speaker phone screen?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.
Does the samsung dialer not have any way to mute your microphone while on a call?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy does my 4s phone mute itself? I also have a hard time hanging up after a call. The screen goes blank like it's in a sleep mode. I have to use 2 hands to make it hang up--one to hold the home button and the other to hit the end bar. I've "Reset All Settings" in General Settings like other posts have suggested. This worked for a short period of time but now the phone is back to muting itself. Why does this happen?

I have a samsung galaxy 6 and all incoming calls are setting my ringtone to mute. I put my ringtone volume as high as it will go. Then I call my phone. Sometimes it will ring once with volume before it magically sets my ringtone to mute, but regardless, ever incoming call sets my ringtone to mute by the 2nd or 3rd ring.
I've turned gestures off.
I have no updates for the phone.
No recently added apps.
Power saving is turned off.
I have a Samsung s6 running 5.1.1 however when I'm at the gym with my headphones in the volume turns itself down to mute.
It's not a button being accidently pressed as when I turn it back up whilst still in my hand it turns back down..
I have the sound alive turned off and the volume adjustment setting is off. I've tried a restore. It's getting on my nerves now to be honest as when I'm running on the treadmill I either have to stop or just run with no music on.
The "cover screen with hand" option to mute incoming calls and alarms and pause media does not seem to be working. Turning over the screen works, but not hand motion. All of my air browse gestures work, I would think that this feature would work too since it uses the same sensor.

However this morning I put my phone on mute and when i received a text message my phone chimes. I turned the sound off and defaulted the messages to silent but it still keeps making the same noise even though my phone is on silent.

I bought a Blackberry 9300 Curve (3G) at the end of August, with OS 6 on Tesco Mobile. Over time it has developed the problem that it will not always unlock when I press mute, so I have to do a battery pull or wait at least ten minutes before it actually lets me unlock and use the device. Literally what happens is I press the mute button and the device remains completely locked, really irritating when I have the LED flashing at me too! It mainly happens when I'm messaging someone a lot, so locking and unlocking really frequently.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Galaxy S5 since it came out and haven't had any issues with it yet. All of a sudden this evening I noticed that when I got to the lockscreen that the GPS icon appeared in my notification bar. When I dragged down the bar it said "finding location" which was unclearable from the notification list. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the GPS icon will go away, and other times it just stays there.
Why it'd randomly start doing this now and never happened before? Any way I can get it to avoid doing that without turning my GPS off? I'm just concerned about it draining my battery life, but don't want to lose the benefits of GPS staying on.
After I get a notification my screen stays lit unless I hit the button on the side. I read online that sometimes it's because smart screen is turned on but I've already uncheck that and it's hasnt fixed the problem.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThis was working very nicely on the iPhone. I'd setup a route via Google maps, and go. While driving a call would come in, I answer it. The phone screen is displayed.
Because the phone screen is displayed Google maps notifies me of an upcoming navigation instruction. It also auto mutes it's navigation voice so as to not disturb the phone call.
Google maps will also display the same notifications in the lock screen on IOS.
This is much the same as Android dropping down the phone controls when you're in a different app and an incoming call comes in.
Got the update last week and not enjoying it so far (have yet to do factory reset). My main problem (besides lag) is that my phone keeps going to Mute either when I grab it or whatnot, I'm not sure. I keep on Vibrate and keep it in my shirt pocket typically (at work). It seems that handling my phone I somehow change the speaker modes without knowing it. Is there any way to lock the mode so that it won't change when the phone is locked? I don't mind being able to change the volume of audio output when the screen is off but for it to be able to switch to Mute or On is not something I want.

Instead of the normal 6 tiles at the bottom, I have only three now. I cannot mute the line or go to a dial pad. I am chatting with Samsung support about it but they are clueless so far. We have tried a soft reset, resetting the Cache and Data for the Phone App, resetting app preferences and Safe Mode and nothing has worked.
View 18 Replies View RelatedAttached image shows that when I make a call or receive it, my screen does not show dialer buttons, mute button, or the additional caller/conference button. I have looked at all different settings that I could think of but can't seem to fix this. I have tried this using headset as well as speaker phone.
I was able to bring up dialer button (only) if I go to home screen during the call and open up phone again. This time I can use the dialer buttons but still no mute or conf buttons.
The volume button adjusts the ringtone volume. When it is pushed all the way down, it switches to vibrate. If I accidentally push it once more, it switches to mute. I want the phone to always vibrate, regardless of whether the ringer is on or not. I don't want the volume button to adjust vibration.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSomething I have noticed since upgrading to Marshmallow, and probably the only thing I don't like, is that music playback, for instance Spotify, will not longer mute whenever the phone is "Speaking." In fact, it doesn't even reduce in volume at all, whenever the phone is giving feedback through Moto Voice all other sounds will continue at full volume as well.
The reason this is an issue for me is that I tend to use the phone as my music source plugged in via an Aux cable, in the past, I could have sworn that other sounds were reduced in volume or muted whenever the phone was "speaking." That made voice commands while in the car driving actually usable, but now they are not anymore. I could use things like talk to me, replying to messages, etc. but if other sounds don't get muted, I can't interact with it at all, there's too much noise with music still going.
Ok. So when I charge my phone the red stays on. When I press the power key and hold it in the light turms off and the turn on screen appears( blackeberry&logo and white loading bar)
Once the bar is fully loaded the screen turns white.The red light appears again and the turn on screen comes back without me doing anything..
After being an Android user for the past 7 years, this is my first windows Phone. I normally turn my phone off before going to bed, and connect it to the charger. The problem I have here is the Phone turns on automatically the moment I connect it to the Charger. my question is why don't it stay turned off.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
I have two bluetooth headsets, one is HBH-DS200, the other is MW600. The same problem is: If the bluetooth headset was closed first(out of power), You can not hear anything when calling or answer a call. And you'll find the button "Use the headset" appears when calling, actually the headset has already disconnect, meantime the loudspeaker becomes dumb.
Even if I closed the bluetooth function of Satio. The problem still exist. Then if You reconnect to the bluetooth headset, You can hear the sound through the bluetooth headset while playing game, music, video. But while calling, nothing could be heard, the loudspeaker becomes dumb again! You have to power off Satio and restart the phone, if you want to use the call function, not only a media player! The strange is if you closed the bluetooth of Satio first, the phone function works well.
