BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Phone Automatically Brings Up Dial Pad Instead Of Standard Options Like Speaker Phone / Mute

Ok So i'm going to try and explain this and see if you guys can help me. When i'm on a phone call it automatically brings up the dial pad instead of going to the standard options like speaker phone and mute and all that. i often switch to speaker phone when on a phone call and i have to click twice when i could just click speaker phone.its just annoying i was wondering if there is a way to switch it to default to the speaker phone screen?

When I'm on the phone many times the speaker phone comes on without me selecting the option.Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a fix?

I am trying to use voice dialing on the Storm 2. I like the hot keys on the World Phone, so I need a new option.It recognizes numbers just fine. But it will not recognize any matches for any names that I say.I found a tip about "Adapt Voice", but my Storm2 has no such option in Voice Dialing. Only "Adapt Digits" which I did. Is there some piece missing? Possibly OS? How do I check my OS version?

Happened a good three or 4 times on a call yesterday. I was talking on the phone and made sure I locked the screen and then ever couple minutes the screen would switch back n forth between that and speaker and nope it wasn't my face hitting the button on the screen.

Just the other day, I had to use my phone while it was charging (wall charger).The phone kept kicking into speaker mode everytime it went from portrait to landscape mode and back to normal when in portrait mode Is this a bug or by design and why the eff would this be by design?

I have scrolled through the forums reading about both these phones and i have a few questions
1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?

My mute button works to mute incoming calls or music.but I don't see any sort of indication it is active.
Also, I still cant seem to prevent BBM from vibrating the phone, despite several places I've set it to NOT vibrate for messages.both in the contacts and in the general settings for BBM messages.I just tried one more thing--for my contacts, I set the options from "active profile" to "off" for the messages. maybe that will do the trick.weird thing is, when I had pressed "try it" when it was set to "active profile" for the contact's messages settings, it didn't vibrate.now i have to wait for an incoming message to see if this irritation is fixed.

Any obscure setting that I may have tripped that would kill these two at the same time all of the sudden? I'm at a loss other than the fact the sucker got wet about 10 days ago. I did the proper wet phone recovery procedure and even had it apart same day to make sure it wasn't moist in there. Worked fine till about an hour ago.

Accuracy is terrible for me. Have tried it directly with the phone and through a Blueant Q1 headset. In both cases it's rare for the voice dialing to recognize the name or numbers I'm saying, even in a quietly running car with the windows closed and no music. Sometimes the guesses are completely off, like when I say "604" for the area code and it asks if I said "644".I've read on this board about training the devie to my voice but I can't see how to do that.As an aside, I hate the voice with the british accent that reads back the name or number - any way to change it to a North American accent?I'm running a 9550 with 5.0.0.320.

I had to take my phone up to verizon store to check it out and I watched the tech go to the Options menu, bring up the keyboard, type somthing in, and the phone reset like it does with Quickpull or a battery pull....

I know there are a lot of these threads, you don't have to tell me.But i've read some and didn't find what I was looking for, exactly.I am selling my Storm 2 9550, and want to make sure all my information is out of it. But I don't want to make it incapable of using for the buyer. So how do I wipe or just clean out of phone of my info, and still have it working for him? Should I just do a wipe, and then reinstall the OS? Or will he be able to reinstall the OS when he puts it and installs the BlackBerry desktop software? How does it come when you buy it from Verizon?

I have insalled a lot of OS's on my old storm one but for the life of me I can't get the storm 2 to take 436. It acts like it is but when I go to options it still shows 320 installed.

The fist time I didn't get a green dot a good date or a good number as far as I could tell. This time I got the green dot, but the dates are all in 2009. I have been looking for the 3 digit number in the red circle. Can you please tell me were to find these. I a have been up for 20 hours and I have steam coming out my ears at Verizon. I am not going to bother transerfering if it isn't the new phone. They are both refurbished.

Ever since I installed .713 OS my storm 2 keeps locking up for ten or fifteen seconds at a time.The little clock is in the middle of the screen and spinning. This happens so much it is getting disgusting and annoying. Has anyone else ran into this and what did you do to fix? I did a search but found nothing on this.

I have been using my Storm2 for a few months now and have set up the Wi-Fi for both my office and my home.
I have 2 saved profiles in my set up.
Problem is that it will only re-login into the last one used.How do I get it to automatically switch between the two? Is it even possible? Since I scanned and found my work network, then connected - tomorrow when I get back to work it will automatically log in - IF I don't log into my home network when I get home.

After installing 5.0.0.713, I noticed I had no calendar icon anywhere. I looked in all of my folders and made sure it wasn't hidden. I resent service books and that didn't restore the icon. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me if there is an app that shows caller ID on your phone like what you get with a landline. I don't mean just the number or if one of the people saved in your phonebook calls, I am talking any phone that calls your blackberry. On my landline I get number and name or location. I am looking for an app that will work for this. If you are using one let me know and how well it works, and a price.

replacement phone in today and i set everything up and it is working great!! However, i realized i haven't gotten an email in a while (im normally good to get at least 3 an hour from reps in my field) So i looked into it and got on my laptop and checked. Sure enough i had 6 emails waiting there for me!! I don't know what i missed on the phone but i am not getting any emails!! I am getting notifications from facebook, MMS, SMS, and BBM but no emails from my Yahoo account.

Anyone know how to record phone calls on the Storm2? I tried looking for an app, but no go so far. I then tried thinking of getting a digital voice memo recorder with an in/out line that I could use a wired headset to but I feel like I'm making it too complicated. Any thoughts or knowledge of an app out there for this? Thanks ahead for any insight!!

Is there some app to control your pc with your bb. when i watch a movie with my laptop connected to the tv by a hdmi cable the laptop is on the floor. so i can't control it.now i'm looking for a remote app that can control the pc with my bb. i found vlc remote but it is not for the 9520. is there some kind of remote. bluetooth or wifi it doesn't mather.

I am totally brand new towards BB.Recently i had spent about 2 to 3 weeks reading from the forum about 9700 and storm 9520.I myself prefered getting the storm as i want to use the phone more on internet browsing.After reading tonnes of threads, i got to be even more confuse. It seems there are alot of ppl hating this device and alot of ppl loving this device.I guess it has alot to do with the firmware tat each storm is running on. I dun intend to complicates the device and only wish to serve net, bbm, msn, fb with ease. So mostly i might not be getting any 3rd party apps as i am afraid of causing the device to cease normal operations.
My frens had been asking me to get the iphone but i do not wan to be seen carrying the charger all around juz to charge the phone twice a day.My gf is currently using a 9700, but i feel the screen is too small for internet browsing.I had another 1.5 mths more to go for making the decision of getting storm 2. I really hope those verteran user of storm 2 could give me some advice on shd i get storm 2?Or is there a better option for other phone which might serve for my purposes better?Another thing is tat i had seen ppl asking about is the clicking sound could it be disable even with the latest firmware upgrade?

for some reason, when ever i do a battery pull and when my storm starts back up, the screen clicks so easy, but as time goes on (min or so) it gets stiffer and you have to use more pressure.

I have about 3.2GBs of songs I wanted to transfer to the Storm 2 from my Mac, but I am unable to do so. It gives me a limit of 1.8GB. Anyway to raise the limit from 1.8 to like 5GBs? I thought the memory card had like 16 GBs?
