Ever since I installed .713 OS my storm 2 keeps locking up for ten or fifteen seconds at a time.The little clock is in the middle of the screen and spinning. This happens so much it is getting disgusting and annoying. Has anyone else ran into this and what did you do to fix? I did a search but found nothing on this.
I have scrolled through the forums reading about both these phones and i have a few questions
1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?
I know there are a lot of these threads, you don't have to tell me.But i've read some and didn't find what I was looking for, exactly.I am selling my Storm 2 9550, and want to make sure all my information is out of it. But I don't want to make it incapable of using for the buyer. So how do I wipe or just clean out of phone of my info, and still have it working for him? Should I just do a wipe, and then reinstall the OS? Or will he be able to reinstall the OS when he puts it and installs the BlackBerry desktop software? How does it come when you buy it from Verizon?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe fist time I didn't get a green dot a good date or a good number as far as I could tell. This time I got the green dot, but the dates are all in 2009. I have been looking for the 3 digit number in the red circle. Can you please tell me were to find these. I a have been up for 20 hours and I have steam coming out my ears at Verizon. I am not going to bother transerfering if it isn't the new phone. They are both refurbished.

I guinea pigged this, and can confirm it works...partially !!! Install .451, replace java folder with .497, then copy and paste .484 java over that... (NOTE: you may experience an app error reset, just let it reboot and you should be fine!)

However, i realized i haven't gotten an email in a while (im normally good to get at least 3 an hour from reps in my field) So i looked into it and got on my laptop and checked. Sure enough i had 6 emails waiting there for me!! I don't know what i missed on the phone but i am not getting any emails!! I am getting notifications from facebook, MMS, SMS, and BBM but no emails from my Yahoo account.

I then tried thinking of getting a digital voice memo recorder with an in/out line that I could use a wired headset to but I feel like I'm making it too complicated. View 6 Replies View RelatedI am totally brand new towards BB.Recently i had spent about 2 to 3 weeks reading from the forum about 9700 and storm 9520.I myself prefered getting the storm as i want to use the phone more on internet browsing.After reading tonnes of threads, i got to be even more confuse. It seems there are alot of ppl hating this device and alot of ppl loving this device.I guess it has alot to do with the firmware tat each storm is running on. I dun intend to complicates the device and only wish to serve net, bbm, msn, fb with ease. So mostly i might not be getting any 3rd party apps as i am afraid of causing the device to cease normal operations.
My frens had been asking me to get the iphone but i do not wan to be seen carrying the charger all around juz to charge the phone twice a day.My gf is currently using a 9700, but i feel the screen is too small for internet browsing.I had another 1.5 mths more to go for making the decision of getting storm 2. I really hope those verteran user of storm 2 could give me some advice on shd i get storm 2?Or is there a better option for other phone which might serve for my purposes better?Another thing is tat i had seen ppl asking about is the clicking sound could it be disable even with the latest firmware upgrade?
Any problems with it like the Storm1? I never had a lot of problems with the Storm1 but I had a few people tell me the sound on their end wasn't the best.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use my Storm 2 as a Wifi only device as I have switched to another phone. I have set up the Wifi connection to my router and disabled the mobile network. The problem is that only some applications are able to connect to the Internet successfully. I am able to send message through Blackberry Messenger and Pandora streams music but I cannot receive e-mails, load anything in the web browser or use the Facebook app. I am getting an error stating that the device could not connect to the Internet. Does annyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

So when I lock my phone, the screen SHOULD lock too, but it still clicks when I touch it which is bad because I have actually called people while it is in my pocket hitting my leg. Is there a reason for the screen not locking?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Storm2 running official Verizon .713 has suddenly gotten stuck in a boot cycle. It will reboot, get as far as the "BlackBerry" screen, maybe 2 or 3 % into the progress bar, then it will give the white background "freeze/crash" screen but it only flashes momentarily such that I cannot read the error it is giving, then reboots, starting the process all over again in a seemingly endless cycle. Is there any way I can fix this or do I need to wipe the phone and reinstall everything, losing all my data?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhile driving I like to use Google Map and Trapster to track my route, traffic and speed traps. As the apps track movement, I expected the maps to scroll smoothly. While occassionally I see a smooth transition, much of the time, there is a lengthy delay where a portion of the map is white, while it waits to draw the new area. Is this delay a result of the Storm 2 hardware, or is it associated with download/network speed as the device has to download a new map each time you travel to a new area? Sometimes it can take several minutes to redraw the new map-- so I'm thinking it may be related to network speed in different areas as you travel.

So in other words everytime I manually lock my phone, when I go to unlock it I would have to type in a password. I'm not really feeling the the whole password protect after 1,2,5,10,15,20,30, 1hour. I only want it to password protect when I lock the phone.
