Apr 22, 2010I cannot lock my storm2. The button which locked my storm 1 is now a power button and there is no lock icon anywhere.

BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Purple Yahoo Mail Icon On Phone?
May 3, 2010So I noticed on someones Curve 8330 that they had a different icon for their Yahoo (and AOL) email account and I was wondering why I don't have that for my Yahoo account on my Storm. I just have the default envelope icon, is there anyway for me to get the "Purple Y" icon on my Storm? Or is there anyway to customize the email icons on my Storm?

Mar 19, 2010I have scrolled through the forums reading about both these phones and i have a few questions
1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?

Mar 29, 2010Ok i have 2 storm 2s, on one the AOL Icon still shows up... *even after a battery pull* on the other my AOL icon has just turned into the standard email icon folder, black and white with the Globe underneath.... anyone know how to get the AOL Icon back on the phone? And what would cause it to fall off of one phone but stay on the other phone?

May 11, 2010My BB Pearl 8100 is dying a slow death. The trackball is starting to lock up every few days. I'm seriously considering moving over to a Storm2. Now, I have a couple of challenges and hoping I can get some guidance.
I have AT&T as my carrier (the device is mine) as part of my corporate phone plan; (my choices are AT&T and Sprint). What I'd like to do is get my hands on a Storm2, unlock it and then move that over to my AT&T plan.
When unlocking the phone will I lose any of the features? Also, is there anything I should know do regarding device activation? Would I just use the same SIM card?

May 6, 2010The default BB password is too difficult to type all the time.... PatternLock password was too obvious and the background wouldnt update (berryweather background) Storm slider was great just WAY TOO BUGGY! Any other options out there?

Jan 4, 2010I just finally joined the bb scene on Dec 26, with my new Storm 2 9550.I thought this was maybe due to the technological advancement of the device, as all new things usually have bugs.Sometimes while I am texting, or if I have just sent a text, set it down, then received one, my storm will freeze.The screen basically lock, not allowing me to click it. When I try to click the unlock key, nothing happens, and nothing will work until I hold the unlock/power key to turn it off. Sometimes it is stubborn enough where it won't work until I take the battery out and put it back in.It's done this a few times, which probably isn't good since I've only had the phone for 10 days. Do you guys think there is probably something mechanically wrong, and I should go exchange the phone? Or is it probably just a bug with some software and I should just ride it out?
Edit: Also, my other concern about exchanging it is the fact that I don't think I'll be able to show the Verizon Rep what is happening, as it is a random occurrence.Is the exchange policy a no questions asked policy?

Feb 1, 2010I'm running .428 and my storm and I know there are lots of threads on the button issue. Mine all stopped working Friday after a dip in the ocean. Next day the bottom 4 started working again but the power/lock still does not work. It clicks but nothing else. And the keyboard is so soft. Oh and about 5 auto shut offs. I have to battery pull just to start it again.

May 4, 2010I had my first storm replaced because the screen stopped clicking, and now I am having never ending problems with the screen lock. Ill be in the middle of the call and the screen will be locked but then suddenly it will unlock and ill hit a button and end the call, or flash, or mute. I have prematurely ended hundreds of calls now.
I got a new one, and it is having similar issues. I know that the face recognition works off of heat, so i don't know how the Texas weather is affecting it, but this is getting pretty ridiculous. I have been counting and I am up to 2 out of every 3 calls either get muted, flashed, or ended unintentionally.
I tried using storm lock, but it does not lock the end key of course, so i can still end the call, which I do often. Has any one had any problems with theirs? Any ideas how to fix?
BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Keyboard Type Coming Out Of Lock Mode
Apr 13, 2010I have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?

Feb 28, 2010I have two storm 2's and on one of them the lock button clicks real good. The other one is more mussy. Any ideas? Should I get the one replaced with a refurb? Other than that it works fine.

Apr 22, 2010Any obscure setting that I may have tripped that would kill these two at the same time all of the sudden? I'm at a loss other than the fact the sucker got wet about 10 days ago. I did the proper wet phone recovery procedure and even had it apart same day to make sure it wasn't moist in there. Worked fine till about an hour ago.

Jan 9, 2010I just updated my 9550's OS to the leaked .428 and the transition was fine besides one issue. The e-mail icon is stuck on my screen. I've read a few threads with this issue and tried every fix they had, nothing has worked. I think I've found the cause of the issue, but don't have a resolution. When I loaded the OS, I had two new Facebook messages. When the OS loaded, the OS recognized them as e-mails until I activated the Facebook app. When it loaded, the Facebook icon popped up on the homescreen, but the e-mail icon didn't disappear.
Some steps I've taken to try to resolve the issue:
1) Check all message locations, including SMS, MMS, BBM, e-mails, etc. There are no new messages anywhere.
2) Deleted both e-mail accounts from my phone, didn't take it away.
3) Backed up my data and wiped/restored.
4) Deleted Facebook as an app, then backed up the data and wiped/restored. Even without Facebook as an app the e-mail icon is still there.
5) Went to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Register Now.
6) Went to Options, Advanced, Service Book, deleted my e-mail from there.
BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Alarm Does Not Ring When Power Button / Screen Lock Enabled
Apr 26, 2010I use the alarm clock function on my BB 9550 and have been noticing the alarm does not ring if the screen is locked (i.e., using the power button function on the top of the device). Specifically, there is still an alarm notification on the screen (to dismiss or snooze), but there is no sound. That's a problem. Seems to work fine if the screen is unlocked.
This just became a problem with the upgrade to O/S version 5.0.0.607. Before that I noticed that the alarm would only be a low hum if the screen was locked, but now there is nothing at all!

Jan 14, 2010I downloaded the beweather free app today and it seems to work great and all but the home screen icon doesnt show the updated temperature after i refresh my beweather free... the weird thing is that it shows the updated temperature when the icon is part of the full menu of icons when pressing the menu button to see all the icons but it is not updated when looking at the home screen layout with just one row of icons if u know what im saying.
