BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Keyboard Type Coming Out Of Lock Mode

I have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?

Just upgraded from the Curve to the Storm 2. Love the look and feel, BUT I can't type at all on this thing! It takes me 12 tries to type a 5 letter word. I keep thinking I am hitting the correct key but hit the key next to it. I am praying it is just practice and then it will be better,

Wish I could change my keyboard mode from "reduced" to "full" for password entry but can't figure out a way to do it. In options it is set to SureType and it comes up as SureType everywhere else except for password entry when it comes up as "reduced".

One of the main reasons I returned my Storm1 was because of how loud the constant clicking was to produce an email. The fact that I was typing/emailing on my device during a meeting was very noticeable to others in the room given the click-click-click-click-click. Is this still the case with the Storm2?

I just received my new storm 2 after replacing the first because the screen wouldn't click in the corner. I made sure I got one with a march 5th branding so I had the updated screen. Earlier today the send, Menu, Return, and End keys plus the screen right next to the started this "TINKing" noise. The other side still "clicks".

Does anyone know if there is a shortcut to change my Blackberry 9520 profiles? I want a quick button that puts my phone onto silent. I've owned a Blackberry Bold 9000 before and it has it's own dedicated silent key. Is there such key/shortcut for Storm2 9520?

Help/Advice is needed ASAP!I'm leaving for Switzerland in less than 10 hours and I needed to find a way to keep in contact with my family here in the U.S. for relatively cheap. Well I bought a plan with Skype (since I have Skype mobile on my storm) where I can make international calls for reasonable rates. Now I am afraid that my friends may call/text my phone while I'm overseas NOT using skype and rack up my Verizon bill. Is there anyway at all that I can block calls and texts from coming to my phone but not interfere with my skype mobile?Also has anyone used Skype mobile overseas? Does it work well?

Has anyone every had their keyboard Freeze up? I've been noticing when I hit shift and then go to press the other key the shift light will stay solid for a minute and then the keyboard will flip.

After upgrading my storm 2 to the new OS 5.0.0.607, my sms keyboard is always hidden..when i open a message the keyboard is hidden and i have to either click on the text line or hit the "show keyboard" button kind of a pain in the *** when texting alot of people. any body experience this and know how to fix it?

is there a workaround or a build that gets rid of the laggy keyboard, especially the alt/symbol key that freezes the keyboard for a second each time you press it? Its fine after a reboot, but after 12h, somehow it really slows down typing.

Getting an occurence on my Storm2. When my screen powers up, i get the full keyboard on my screen and i cannot seem to get rid of it. Only way to get rid of this is to pull the battery.

like the Iphone keypad? My finger covers the highlighted button which defeats the purpose of the highlighting and makes it 50% harder to type than it needs to be.

Got my storm 2 about a week ago. Only belong to one BBM group but the keyboard will not come up when I try to message in the group. Works fine for one on one chat. I did work for the first few days and this one was shipped with .607 and was not a refurb. I tried all the usual fixes including deleting BBM which I found that I couldn't delete it.

I read all the thread on how to remove the languages, I did it in set up wizard but portugues stayed behind. I need to remove these, hooked up my bb to the desk top manager and there are no options to remove these languages...
I am I missing a step?
This is my replacement storm 2 and the last Storm 2 I backed up... dont know if this has any bearing on this?

Since my Storm2 took a sip of my coffee several weeks ago, the screen lock button no longer does anything.

Does anyone know of a way to further dim the clock when the BB is in bedside mode? I keep my screen brightness at 60%. When my BB is in its charging cradle and in bedside mode at night (set to auto dim) it is still too bright (according to my wife). I'd really like to be able to dim the screen so it is barely visible - perhaps 10% brightness - while in bedside mode.

I put my phone into bedside mode each night as I put into my charging pod. I have bedside mode configured as "Phone Calls Only", all message options are set with vibration off for this profile. I have reviewed the BerryBuzz settings and they are set with vibration off as well. However, each time I get a new message with bedside mode enabled my phone vibrates once. I even put the phone into silent mode and dang thing still vibrates. This has worked fine in the past. Only changes is new OS (.607) install and newest BerryBuzz.
I'm not sure if this is a OS or BerryBuzz related issue, will have to disable BerryBuzz and see if this still occurs. Anyone else experiencing this type of behavior?

My BB Pearl 8100 is dying a slow death. The trackball is starting to lock up every few days. I'm seriously considering moving over to a Storm2. Now, I have a couple of challenges and hoping I can get some guidance.
I have AT&T as my carrier (the device is mine) as part of my corporate phone plan; (my choices are AT&T and Sprint). What I'd like to do is get my hands on a Storm2, unlock it and then move that over to my AT&T plan.
When unlocking the phone will I lose any of the features? Also, is there anything I should know do regarding device activation? Would I just use the same SIM card?

The default BB password is too difficult to type all the time.... PatternLock password was too obvious and the background wouldnt update (berryweather background) Storm slider was great just WAY TOO BUGGY! Any other options out there?

Title explains it all after mulitple battry pulls my lock button only locks the device untill I hit the unlock button. The screen to enter the password doesn't show up. it just says " screen is locked press power button to unlock". I need my device to have a password.

I just finally joined the bb scene on Dec 26, with my new Storm 2 9550.I thought this was maybe due to the technological advancement of the device, as all new things usually have bugs.Sometimes while I am texting, or if I have just sent a text, set it down, then received one, my storm will freeze.The screen basically lock, not allowing me to click it. When I try to click the unlock key, nothing happens, and nothing will work until I hold the unlock/power key to turn it off. Sometimes it is stubborn enough where it won't work until I take the battery out and put it back in.It's done this a few times, which probably isn't good since I've only had the phone for 10 days. Do you guys think there is probably something mechanically wrong, and I should go exchange the phone? Or is it probably just a bug with some software and I should just ride it out?
Edit: Also, my other concern about exchanging it is the fact that I don't think I'll be able to show the Verizon Rep what is happening, as it is a random occurrence.Is the exchange policy a no questions asked policy?
