Wish I could change my keyboard mode from "reduced" to "full" for password entry but can't figure out a way to do it. In options it is set to SureType and it comes up as SureType everywhere else except for password entry when it comes up as "reduced".

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?
I found several related threads that say this is not possible with the Storm1. Is this possible with the Storm2?
View 6 Replies View RelatedCamera works fine, when in landscape mode and using camera key to take picture with auto focus and all. Tried it today in portriat mode, didnt used the side key because its easier to use the center touch screen key. Held it for a minute or two camera seem to do the auto focus, then all of a sudden the phones screen goes blank and you cant even see what you want to take a picture of anymore.Is that normal or is it not made to do auto focus with touch screen push in portriat or what?

View 8 Replies View RelatedGot my storm 2 about a week ago. Only belong to one BBM group but the keyboard will not come up when I try to message in the group. Works fine for one on one chat. I did work for the first few days and this one was shipped with .607 and was not a refurb. I tried all the usual fixes including deleting BBM which I found that I couldn't delete it.

I read all the thread on how to remove the languages, I did it in set up wizard but portugues stayed behind. I need to remove these, hooked up my bb to the desk top manager and there are no options to remove these languages...
I am I missing a step?

Is there a way to make the icons bigger on the scene? My suretype keyboard used to be able to see without squinting, but not anymore. I've tried changing the font but it stays the same.

When my BB is in its charging cradle and in bedside mode at night (set to auto dim) it is still too bright (according to my wife). I'd really like to be able to dim the screen so it is barely visible - perhaps 10% brightness - while in bedside mode.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI put my phone into bedside mode each night as I put into my charging pod. I have bedside mode configured as "Phone Calls Only", all message options are set with vibration off for this profile. I have reviewed the BerryBuzz settings and they are set with vibration off as well. However, each time I get a new message with bedside mode enabled my phone vibrates once. I even put the phone into silent mode and dang thing still vibrates. This has worked fine in the past. Only changes is new OS (.607) install and newest BerryBuzz.
I'm not sure if this is a OS or BerryBuzz related issue, will have to disable BerryBuzz and see if this still occurs. Anyone else experiencing this type of behavior?
The default BB password is too difficult to type all the time.... PatternLock password was too obvious and the background wouldnt update (berryweather background) Storm slider was great just WAY TOO BUGGY! Any other options out there?

So in other words everytime I manually lock my phone, when I go to unlock it I would have to type in a password. I'm not really feeling the the whole password protect after 1,2,5,10,15,20,30, 1hour. I only want it to password protect when I lock the phone.

Granted the os needds work, but the device feels solid and the productivity on the device seems to be second to none..is this incredible worthit? i had a droid and actually sold it online and kept my s2 instead. I remember thinking that many apps and games for the droid are pretty silly..unless things have chanced..
are there many "good" games for the droid?not sure if the quality control is there for the droid considering its open source..I use my bb for email and voice dialing which is critical. which do you think if a better device overall? speed aside?
I do feel that the s2;s screen is great..I love the clicking..
but im wondering if and when the s3 comes out, they will upgrade the horsepower..as I think that is one of the weak parts of the s2? or is it?does the processor in the s2 get blown away by this "snapdragon?"
What all exactly is bedside mode supposed to do on the s2? I tried it last night thinking it would kill my alerts but I still got some, so I actually had to go into silent all alerts under profiles to stop my phone from going off last night.

This works only if I disable the password prompt, as certain people have a habit of picking my phone up when its on the side I like to keep it the password protection enabled. What I was wanting is the display the clock when in bedside mode without turning the screen off while still keeping the password protection enabled. Is this possible?

Each night I plug it in to charge and use the Bedside Mode. What I'd like to do is have it so that it all notifications are off, except for those from specific contacts. I've set up a BlackBerry Contact Group with those people in (ie just family, close friends, important colleagues, etc.). Is there a way for me to do this?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Tank's Act 2 .497 Hybrid (which is awesome) on my 9550. Previously, I had only been running the stock OS 5.0.0.320 on my device. I actually searched quite a bit, but found no problems that were quite the same as what I'm experiencing. I had posted this same issue on page 17 of Tank's thread, but decided to start a new thread just to be able to reach more of the masses, as I'm not sure if this issue is specific to Tank's hybrid or not.
Everything works great, with one lone exception--I have my default browser set to "hotspot" as I always have, and previously (using .320) if I was in an area with no WIFI signal, the browser would just automatically switch over to the Internet browser and load my pages just fine. Now, however, if I have no WIFI signal, I get a "This is a WIFI service. Please ensure your device has an active WIFI connection and try again." message, forcing me to go into the browser settings and manually change the browser from "hotspot" to "Internet".Is this normal (for any OS version)? Is there some setting somewhere I'm missing? Seems to be a bit of a pain, just to take advantage of WIFI, to have to set this manually all the time.
*Also, as much as I appreciate the help, I'm not looking for "Use Opera Mini! It PWNS the BB Browser!!!1!". Yeah, I know there are other browsers out there, some with great features (and speeds), but I'm just trying to figure out this issue with the BB Browser.
