is there a way to reboot the storm2? with my old curve you just presses 3 keys shift, cap, and delete and it would reboot. So far ill i can find it the turn phone of button but that seems to just put the phone in a sleep mode.
View 8 RepliesMy Storm2 running official Verizon .713 has suddenly gotten stuck in a boot cycle. It will reboot, get as far as the "BlackBerry" screen, maybe 2 or 3 % into the progress bar, then it will give the white background "freeze/crash" screen but it only flashes momentarily such that I cannot read the error it is giving, then reboots, starting the process all over again in a seemingly endless cycle. Is there any way I can fix this or do I need to wipe the phone and reinstall everything, losing all my data?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had my Storm 9520 for about 6 months now and like it better than the 9500.I plugged it into my laptop and the DM said there was a software upgrade to .497. I clicked to proceed with everything as normal.
Unfortunately it never installed properly and I had to wipe the data.I managed to get my BB operational again but when I went to restore from my back up I did prior to the upgrade I have lost a bunch of stuff.
No Password Keeper, no BB Messenger (it says it's installed but not there) no games. I have no idea what's happened but I have a lot of stiuff in my Password Keeper that I need.I even tried restoring from 3 month back up without success.
I have scrolled through the forums reading about both these phones and i have a few questions
1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?
When SMSing, conversation looks good and replies are seen one after another just like they should be. However, when I reboot or battery pull my Storm2, SMS conversations get messed up so that all replies get combined into one message and the same happens with messages from the other party. It makes conversations extremely difficult to follow.

When my BB is in its charging cradle and in bedside mode at night (set to auto dim) it is still too bright (according to my wife). I'd really like to be able to dim the screen so it is barely visible - perhaps 10% brightness - while in bedside mode.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI put my phone into bedside mode each night as I put into my charging pod. I have bedside mode configured as "Phone Calls Only", all message options are set with vibration off for this profile. I have reviewed the BerryBuzz settings and they are set with vibration off as well. However, each time I get a new message with bedside mode enabled my phone vibrates once. I even put the phone into silent mode and dang thing still vibrates. This has worked fine in the past. Only changes is new OS (.607) install and newest BerryBuzz.
I'm not sure if this is a OS or BerryBuzz related issue, will have to disable BerryBuzz and see if this still occurs. Anyone else experiencing this type of behavior?
What all exactly is bedside mode supposed to do on the s2? I tried it last night thinking it would kill my alerts but I still got some, so I actually had to go into silent all alerts under profiles to stop my phone from going off last night.

This works only if I disable the password prompt, as certain people have a habit of picking my phone up when its on the side I like to keep it the password protection enabled. What I was wanting is the display the clock when in bedside mode without turning the screen off while still keeping the password protection enabled. Is this possible?

Each night I plug it in to charge and use the Bedside Mode. What I'd like to do is have it so that it all notifications are off, except for those from specific contacts. I've set up a BlackBerry Contact Group with those people in (ie just family, close friends, important colleagues, etc.). Is there a way for me to do this?

Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.

I just got a replacement storm2 and can not get the clock to stay on while in bedside mode even when plugged in charging. I have tried every possible option I can think of and it still dims then goes black. There has got to be a setting I'm missing somewhere.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?
It seems if I hardly move it, it auto rotates to landscape mode. I guess it doesn't have any sensitivity options?

But I don't want to make it incapable of using for the buyer. So how do I wipe or just clean out of phone of my info, and still have it working for him? Should I just do a wipe, and then reinstall the OS? Or will he be able to reinstall the OS when he puts it and installs the BlackBerry desktop software? How does it come when you buy it from Verizon?
