Does anyone know of a way to further dim the clock when the BB is in bedside mode? I keep my screen brightness at 60%. When my BB is in its charging cradle and in bedside mode at night (set to auto dim) it is still too bright (according to my wife). I'd really like to be able to dim the screen so it is barely visible - perhaps 10% brightness - while in bedside mode.

View 8 Replies View RelatedBasically I have been reading that in bedside mode you can get the clock to stay on (dimmed) while charging. However I found a problem. This works only if I disable the password prompt, as certain people have a habit of picking my phone up when its on the side I like to keep it the password protection enabled. What I was wanting is the display the clock when in bedside mode without turning the screen off while still keeping the password protection enabled. Is this possible?

Each night I plug it in to charge and use the Bedside Mode. What I'd like to do is have it so that it all notifications are off, except for those from specific contacts. I've set up a BlackBerry Contact Group with those people in (ie just family, close friends, important colleagues, etc.). Is there a way for me to do this?

Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.

I just got a replacement storm2 and can not get the clock to stay on while in bedside mode even when plugged in charging. I have tried every possible option I can think of and it still dims then goes black. There has got to be a setting I'm missing somewhere.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI put my phone into bedside mode each night as I put into my charging pod. I have bedside mode configured as "Phone Calls Only", all message options are set with vibration off for this profile. I have reviewed the BerryBuzz settings and they are set with vibration off as well. However, each time I get a new message with bedside mode enabled my phone vibrates once. I even put the phone into silent mode and dang thing still vibrates. This has worked fine in the past. Only changes is new OS (.607) install and newest BerryBuzz.
I'm not sure if this is a OS or BerryBuzz related issue, will have to disable BerryBuzz and see if this still occurs. Anyone else experiencing this type of behavior?
I just got a replacement Storm 2 dated Mar 6, 2010. My old Storm worked pretty well but sometimes the bottom row buttons would stick, especially when using the Seidio extended battery with the plastic battery cover. I have a week or so to try both out before sending back the old one.
The new screen feels more... buttery. Its smooth. Buttery smooth. The old screen is clickier. The bottom row buttons on the new screen are a little sloppy compared to when you press the middle of the screen. Does anyone else notice this? I don't like that.But so far the new screen hasn't locked up on the bottom row as much, especially when trying to use it while the Storm is lying on a table.
For typing, the old screen seems just a bit faster, maybe just a bit less pressure required. New screen is a bit harder to type on but smoother.The old screen has a warmer white color than the old, but that is OK the old was fairly "blue".I don't know for sure yet which I like better! But will update here as I find more. If new screen prevents "hard button" syndrome than that's probably enough.
is there a way to reboot the storm2? with my old curve you just presses 3 keys shift, cap, and delete and it would reboot. So far ill i can find it the turn phone of button but that seems to just put the phone in a sleep mode.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a firm-issued BlackBerry that frequently locks itself after long periods of inactivity. I also choose to manually lock the phone from time to time. When coming out of lock mode and needing to enter my password, when in portrait mode, I sometimes get the MultiTap keypad and sometimes get the the full keypad. There doesn't appear to be any consistency in which one the BlackBerry will choose to offer me.
If I have a choice, I would prefer to use the SureType keyboard or even the full keyboard every time if possible. Can anyone lend any insight as to how to set this default keyboard when coming out of lock mode?
Just the other day, I had to use my phone while it was charging (wall charger).The phone kept kicking into speaker mode everytime it went from portrait to landscape mode and back to normal when in portrait mode Is this a bug or by design and why the eff would this be by design?

1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?

View 14 Replies View RelatedIts been 4 months now that I have taken my screen protector off. Always had one because I was scared of scratches.
My phones in my pocket all the time with keys and change, Not one scratch, plus the screen is more responsive without one.
Not saying if I drop it something would'nt happen but theres really no need for a screen protector.
My BB browser home page currently defaults to a T-Mobile web'n'walk page. no matter what I set in the options, it is overridden when the page loads. I don't actually use it as my browser, but I do have a couple of launchers that require the default browser and when launched, they also end up being overridden and defaulting to this annoying home page, making any launchers completely useless.
I started noticing dust accumulating under my screen last week and took it in to vzw store yesterday to see if they would replace it and was told they could just blow it out with compressed air but didn't have any available, and then was belittled because I didn't have a case on it, I actually have a Zagg full body kit on it. So needless to say they didn't do anything so I called *611 and they told me I had to go back when they had compressed air to see if that works and if it doesn't then they will decide what to do.
Has anyone else ever had this problem with vzw not replacing their storm 2 because of dust and is there any case that would have prevented dust from infiltrating my screen.
I never knew how people got dust under there screen, I finally have seen some speckles under the upper right side. I do not know how they got there as this screen is supposed to be sealed.. I see that is not completely true.
