I bought my storm2 about a week ao and got a 2nd one on thursday b/c of some problems .the person who sold me the phone told me not to update my phone until an official release from telus came out so i was wondering if i were to dl v5.517 would it work on my phone or would it cause complications?

These files came as zips instead of the regular .exe files.At first I unzipped the 451, and installed the file, but it doesnt show up in my DM. So i decided to try the other one (428), and it installed as well, but doesn't show up in DM either.
I even tried looking for them with the "Loader" program, but still not seeing anything but 320.I checked in my control panel, add remove programs, and both 428 and 451 both show up there...Never seen this happen, normally I install a new os and it shows right up in DM.I have restarted DM, computer, and phone (just for fun) but still the updates are not there.
I just got a new icon on my phone saying wireless updates are available... what exactly is this going to update? and should I do it? When an update is available should I do some research first to see if there have been any problems... how should I handle this; other than just install it...
View 11 Replies View RelatedI need help on how to remove OS updates from my computer, I want to clear all other previous and new versions, wanted to really clean it :smileyhappy:I'm currently seeing three - two are .436 and one is the stock OS. I wish to delete all the three and do a clean install by Wiping with BBSAK and flashing the Vodafone UK latest release.
I have looked into my Add/Remove programs but besides the Desktop Manager I see no trace of the respect firmware installers.
Just curious since we're all on the same page. What do you guys use for GPS on your phones? Is there a paid for app that includes Traffic updates? Id use VZ Navigator but not for 10.00 a month.

1.What i am still unsure of is which phone is better suited to Canadian phone companies neither will get 3g coverage but will one work better than the other like will they both get 2.5g coverage?
2. Also i have read that possibly the 9520 will be comin to rogers but i havnt heard anything recent on it does anyone have news on a release date or anything?
3. Right now i am thinkin of buyin the storm 9550 from telus and either goin with fido or terminate my contract with them and stay with telus or move to rogers. Is there a company that is better suited to the storm 2 or will either giv me 2.5g?

Just updated my storm 9550 with the new os .607 and when I tried to reload my AT&T service books I noticed that mms doesnt work, it says service books no found, Is there anyone having this issue with your storm. If you find the solution, please post it here because I try many times to fix it and still nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNot sure if theres a defect on my S2, or if they changed how the volume keys work from the S1, but on my S1, I could press the volume keys up or down and the ringer volume would change, from silent all the way up to loud.
But on my Storm2, the volume keys don't do anything. At first I thought the phone had a defect and the keys didnt work, but I installed QuickLaunch and I'm able to scroll through the QL menu using the volume keys. So the question is, can you guys control the ringer volume using the volume keys? Or do the volume keys not work that way on the S2?

I need some help as to from who I should be getting it.I am currently with Rogers and I can't cancel my plan with them. If I buy an unlocked one from Telus will the Rogers 3G work on it ? What American providers will work on the Rogers frequency so I can get 3G coverage ?I know the Verizon one is out of the question as it runs on different frequencies.

it seems like caller id dont work for some contacts and for some it does work.
I have complained lately that when I get a call, the custom ring doesn't work--instead it rings like a Ma bell phone. I put two and two together today when I received a call while the phone was plugged into my ps3. unplugged, it rang properly. plugged into my pc--same issue. tried my wife's phone plugged into my computer--same issue. Plug the phone into the RIM charger, the ringer works correctly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got the storm 2 like 2 weeks ago and I loved it only problems were the back button wouldn't work like 40% of the time and my send button rarely worked. Well after reading that they were replacing them free I went to a verizon store today and of course when I took it in all the buttons worked. Well the guy still offered to exchange it for me. the whole thing took less than a half hour and he gave me a new battery just for the **** of it and the replacement is soo much better! All the buttons work and overall typing is soo much better on it now. I didn't think it would go that smoothly but so far I have had verizon almost 2 years and I have had great service with them since the start. Now I looked at the box and there was no green dot on it or anything and I haven't looked at the date under the battery yet cuz I have been using the phone alot and right now im listening to music but all the buttons work great and the back button dosent click like its on crack everytime I click it.

But I don't want to make it incapable of using for the buyer. So how do I wipe or just clean out of phone of my info, and still have it working for him? Should I just do a wipe, and then reinstall the OS? Or will he be able to reinstall the OS when he puts it and installs the BlackBerry desktop software? How does it come when you buy it from Verizon?

I have been looking for the 3 digit number in the red circle. Can you please tell me were to find these. I a have been up for 20 hours and I have steam coming out my ears at Verizon. I am not going to bother transerfering if it isn't the new phone. They are both refurbished.

This happens so much it is getting disgusting and annoying. Has anyone else ran into this and what did you do to fix? I did a search but found nothing on this.

However, i realized i haven't gotten an email in a while (im normally good to get at least 3 an hour from reps in my field) So i looked into it and got on my laptop and checked. Sure enough i had 6 emails waiting there for me!! I don't know what i missed on the phone but i am not getting any emails!! I am getting notifications from facebook, MMS, SMS, and BBM but no emails from my Yahoo account.
