After I get a notification my screen stays lit unless I hit the button on the side. I read online that sometimes it's because smart screen is turned on but I've already uncheck that and it's hasnt fixed the problem.

Ever since then I have had the notification icon displaying the number 2 with the bb icon on my front screen. So now when I have two new messages it shows 4 and after reading the two it continues to display the two messages that don't exist.

I can't for the life of me find anything in settings to change this so that I can view my notifications for a longer period of time before the phone locks. It's not so bad during the day because I'm able to check my phone regularly before getting a large build up of notifications, but it's frustrating when I wake up and have a long list that I want to read through to decide which notifications I want to read first.
S5 with Lollipop 5.0
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and for some reason the lock screen notifications disappeared after I recently updated my OS. The left portion of the image is the unlocked state; as you can see the notifications show up in the upper left corner of the screen. The right portion is the locked screen, which hides the notifications previously shown. The notifications used to show in both of the screens but after a recent OS update they stopped showing.

I received a voicemail and now the notification is stuck on my screen. i am not able to swipe it away and when i click and hold on it i go to the app info and the options are, set priority and hide content. Both i turned off and when i pulled down the notification bar it is still there. I have read previous posts but none apply to the s6. I read that you should do a system restart, but will that delete all the things on my phone?
View 24 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a new text or email if I unlock my phone and touch the email or message app and read or delete it, it still shows the notification in the upper left. If I then lock my phone and unlock it again it still shows the notification on the lock screen. I have gone and cleared the cache and data from the message app and restarted. The only way it goes away is if I swipe it away on the lock screen or select it from the lock screen and view/delete after it opens.

The problem i'm having is when i do this sometimes it just locks the phone. Screen turns off, and nothing happens. I will then press the home button and it unlocks and goes straight into the app as if i had unlocked it the first time.
I'm running as stock as you can get on the S6. Not even a theme. I can't seem to recreate the issue at will, but it does happen often but randomly.
Why doesnt my s5 turn off when I get a notification or when I check the time On lock screen. This been happening for the past days. I had about 55% of battery and when I got off work it was dead. I then later charged my phone and noticed that when I get a notification on the lock screen it won't turn off right after the notification showed. when I turn on the phone to check the time on the lock screen it doesn't turn off. it would usually turn off seconds later. This has been draining my battery. if I have a full battery at night and disconnect it and throughout the night I get a text message the lock screen would turn on and never turn off,and then in the morning I'm left with a dead phone or a 3% left, or when I disconnect the phone it doesn't turn of neither. I didn't mind it until I realized that I can no longer view any notification icons for texts, email, missed calls, etc. when my phone is locked. All of a sudden this evening I noticed that when I got to the lockscreen that the GPS icon appeared in my notification bar. When I dragged down the bar it said "finding location" which was unclearable from the notification list. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the GPS icon will go away, and other times it just stays there.
Why it'd randomly start doing this now and never happened before? Any way I can get it to avoid doing that without turning my GPS off? I'm just concerned about it draining my battery life, but don't want to lose the benefits of GPS staying on.

It eventually locks again on its own, but only after 2 minutes (i.e., the time I set for it to sleep on its own). The normal behavior I expect is for the phone to lock immediately after the phone stops ringing, as there could be various accidents if the screen is on while in my pocket.
I'm running CM 11 (i.e., Android 4.4.2).
My wife's nexus 5 is set to go to sleep after 30s of not using it. But that's not the case. ATM I'm waiting for more than 2 mins, and it's still on. Besides that, we have noticed that, sometimes, screen turns on without any reason. No notifications, or anything. We just find it on. And staying on...
Phone is unrooted, so on 4.4.4 stock.
