View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the stock internet that the galaxy 6 came loaded with. I am not using chrome. When I click on a link and that tries to open a new tab, I get an error message that states I have reached my 50 tab maximum. At the bottom of the screen where most users have a "Back" "Forward" "Home" "Bookmark" "Tab" icons, I do NOT have a "tab" icon. How to close tabs without this icon present. all forums answers say to use this icon and I don't see it on my screen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have 'networked' my SGS2 to my Windows XP PC using 'ASTRO file manager' and the 'ASTRO SMB module' (both downloaded free on Market and obviously you need to be rooted too). With it I can access the Shared Folder on my desktop PC and just drag and drop files over. (Obviously you can just use Kies Air or plug in the USB cable, but I was bored so I Googled and fiddled).
This link shows a screenshot where to find the 'Network' icon on 'ASTRO file manager'.[URL]

I'm looking at used Galaxy tablets on eBay. I'm almost always in an area where there's wi-fi. Will I have any issues like I'm not going to get nagged to death about signing up with whatever carrier the tab was with?

my PC can't read it any more. When I plug it into the card reader, it is detected, but always with a message like "The disk in drive H: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?". The card seems to work fine in the phone, all the data is available. I didn't used to have this issue before, but I wouldn't be able to tell you off hand when I last used the card via card reader.
So my first guess was that some recent firmware upgrade may have changed the filesystem on the mem card. I downloaded the ext2/3 drivers from ext2fsd.com , but that didn't help either. I haven't yet had a chance to connect the phone via USB directly and explore the card that way, but it usually takes quite long to transfer files that way. So what can I try to get Windows to read the card? Is it a filesystem issue? Has anybody seen this before?I am running Android 4.0.3 on Samsung firmware (I9100DXLPA).

All apps close and open with the same animations, except facebook which just pops out of nowhere. I also got this issue with my gpe m8. Is there any reason for this?
I regularly get .eml attachement files on my Samsung Focus with Mango. I can't get them to open. I'm using the built in Oultook email email client. I have Exchange. (.eml files are emails that are attached to an email.) A friend who has the same phone says he can open them. Could that be? What could I do to get them open?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMost applications don't seem to have an exit option and the only way I know to close them is the via the "Back" button at bottom right.
In the native Web Browser this button doesn't close the browser but just goes back to the last web page; and then the next last, etc until it runs out of previous pages and then closes.
It's an awful way of closing the browser, going back though all previous pages; and often there are warnings that you may be re-posting data again.
If I press the left menu button I can get to "Windows" and if there are more than one there is a "minus" sign top right allowing it to be closed. But when there is only one window there is no minus sign.
So if I've been doing some interaction with my bank and want to close the single main window I have to select "Menu", "Windows", create a "New window", select the new window, go back to the "Menu" choose "Windows" again, find the minus sign on the original window press to close it, then go back to the new window and press "Back" to close that one.
how to close the Internet browser on the S2. After viewing several pages via links I don't know how to exit the browser. If I just exit the app by pressing the Home button it means that the next time I tap the Internet button it takes me immediately to the last page I was viewing. Surely that's wrong and there must be some way of closing the browser properly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy SII appears to have some kind of virus - I am getting a continuous loop of Force Close messages. Kies will not connect to the phone, it is running to the most up to date version. My phone is currently on Android Version 2.3.3 and on Gingerbread.because it cannot connect to Kies, I cannot run a back up. All my photos and videos are on the phone. I have a 3 month old baby and am desperate to save these. As I cannot back up I am reluctant to perform a factory reset as I am conscious I will lose all the data stored. It randomly turns itself on and off. The error messages come thick and fast - I don't even need to 'force Close' they pop up on their own and a constant stream of them will occur. Examples of the error messages are as follows:
Sorry! Twlauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close.
Sorry! The application Email (process com.sec.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close.
I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 to my computer and keep getting that message.
I go to the task manager and there are no applications running.
my battery is around 30% at the end of the day (average since owning for 2 months). However, 1 day last week I got the force close box come up for TW launcher as I took the phone off charge first thing in the morning. That day my battery was at 52% at the end of the day! I left phone turned on and charged as normal, next day the same, around 50% at end of day (same useage as always, same environment etc). So, next day I turned phone off / on and at end of day battery was around 30% again. To confirm my suspicions I force closed TW launcher and the next day back upto 50% remaining again...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been going through this forum for a while and have tried all of the fixes that I can find to no avail. I have a brand new Windows 7 64-bit machine, that never had the Desktop Manager installed. I have installed version 5.01 off of the web site. Windows is able to see the Blackberry in the Device Manager just fine and I can also see the internal storage available under My Computer and I can access all folders. The Virtual Ports (COM3 and COM4) are also available in Device Manager.
I went through and followed the clean uninstall and reinstall instructions and various other suggestions that I have already seen. For whatever reason, the Desktop Manager still won't see the BB. When going into Options in the Desktop Manager, it shows that USB is selected but still nothing under PIN.I am connected to the straight USB port on the back of the computer and have tried several there.
My s6 bottom two buttons arnt lighting up. I dont know if it is a setting that i messed with or not but i cant seem to get them to work.

I am having issues trying to backup my phone to the mini-SD card. Whenever I try to backup the phone, during the 'Preparing backup' stage I get the message:
File Manager : Memory Full. Close some applications and try again
I have uninstalled any unnecessary apps from the C: drive and cleared out unwanted files . This is how much memory I have available:
RAM : 51mb / 120mb
C: 41mb/86mb
D: 51mb/43mb
E: 5869mb/ 7596mb
I have recently carried out a hard reset on the handset and upgraded the software, so this is not the solution. This was a problem before doing this and remains an issue now. I know that I can backup the phone on my PC but I would like to resolve this so I can backup the phone on the fly.
