I've notice that I'm not able to write/paste on Super Manager or Astro now that I'm using ICS version LPS. I have rooted using Chainfires LPS kernel. is this something that will come with later versions of ICS or updates to the apps themselves?
View 1 RepliesI have 'networked' my SGS2 to my Windows XP PC using 'ASTRO file manager' and the 'ASTRO SMB module' (both downloaded free on Market and obviously you need to be rooted too). With it I can access the Shared Folder on my desktop PC and just drag and drop files over. (Obviously you can just use Kies Air or plug in the USB cable, but I was bored so I Googled and fiddled).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem after doing a reset of my phone. It is rooted and has TWRP 2.8.6.2 installed. I did a full wipe with TWRP including the internal storage.
But now, if i want to upload through TWRP's USB mount, i have to following issue. I see the internal storage on my PC when both are connected by USB, it has the TWRP folder.
I tried to upload a small text file, that went OK, then i uploaded the new ROM file and after 5-8 sec i get a popup on the PC telling me the "device has either stopped working or has been disconnected".
When i boot the phone it is stuck on the boot logo, Samsung text.

When I use the back button to exit from messaging and check in task manager messaging always shows as still active and I can only exit it from task manager. This also happens if I exit messaging via the home key.Would any one know please if this is usual and if so is there a way of exiting messaging so that it does not remain active in the task manager, or is this a fault?

I usually close all the active apps from the Task manager to save the battery of my s2, after doing that i checked the RAM and clear it but there's a message that says for example 8 application were closed, so where this apps came from???

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a sandisk 4g microSD and Sandisk adapter.I formatted the card in my phone, moved images to it and can access it by plugging it into my printer.I wanted to move ringtones onto the card from my pc but I keep getting a "disk is write protected" message.From a search I learned to look for a switch on the side of the card...well there's no switch on the micro card and the switch on the side of the adapter says "lock". I've tried that switch in both positions but it doesn't make a difference.I've used a magnifying glass to look the micro card over but there's no switch.I was able to copy images from the phone to the card then from the card to my pc so I know they're communicating, I just can't write to the card from the pc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI transferred/restored all my info and apps to it used it all day till night perfectly fine. It was fast, wifi working fine, etc. Then tonight I installed Go Launcher on it and played with it for like 10 mins and then noticed wifi stopped working. I turned wifi off and when I tried to turn it back on it failed, I kept trying until wifi turned on. Mean while the phone was super super slow so I turned off power saving mode but it didnt work. Then I noticed wifi started turning off on it own. My next step was remove Go launcher but it didnt fix anything, the issues stayed. Next I reset it to factory setttings but when it came on, wifi was failing (and phone slow) even during the initial set up wizard.
The phone was completely fine during the whole day.And my biggest worry is that this is an exchanged phone. I originally got a supposedly new s5 from ebay, (from a guy with thousands of reviews/transactions and like 98% positive score) but eventually I realized the battery was fake and that the IR blasted didnt work. He agreed to exchanged it and I received it yesterday and now today the phone has already failed but in the weirdest way possible by being completely fine for the majority of the day.

Did a swap from a 64 GB 6P to a 128 GB and tried just doing a nandroid. That would've worked but the fingerprint reader wouldn't work without a factory reset. I also accidentally restores the old EFS in TWRP without knowing I shouldn't, but used the original EFS (did a backup on new device before transfer) and restored it back to what came the device.. So I did that and re-did everything and it seemed to have no problems at first. I downloaded some Google Music playlists, Viper4A + busybox, and at some point my phone stopped letting me modify the files.
Camera can't take pictures. Chrome can't download files. I can't add/remove files via PC. I can't modify files via file managers. I tried chmod 777 sdcard but it doesn't fix the problem. I tried reflashing the ROM and all, and did a complete wipe but restored the data (only) from TWRP - so the problem might be somewhere in there. I haven't changed anything from the setup I had on the 64 GB - it was working fine and then just stopped letting me do stuff.
I'll probably try a complete factory firmware restore then flash the ROM all over again, but wanted to see if there was a simple fix first.

I got a text message from an agency I work for giving me details and the address of a contract I was due to start that night. I'd also reeived and set up my s6 the previous day and went to cut and paste the postcode from the received message into googlemaps searchbar like I'd done millions of times before on my old HT desire hd. It would not let me bring up the cursor tool to select just the postcode so I had to copy the whole text of the message. Inconveinent but okay I'll just delete what I don't need. Pasted this into googlemaps searchbar and begun to delete the excess text. First the stuff and the end of the text message then off to the beginning... hang on?? there is no way of getting to the beginning of thetext to delete the excess there. I couldn't point as the searchbar scrolls along and there is no left or right arrow on the keypad to move across. I couldn't believe it! I'd been doing this fot years on myHTC Desire hd and that as like 4 years old!
Maybe I'm missing something so I played arounda little more and discovered the clipboard but couldn't find a way to edit I'd copied here either?? I called my network provider and they didn't have any answers so gave me samsungs number who I phoned and also seemed to have no answers??? Really I don't get how the cursor used to select the required text is available everywhere else but in received messages?? It was there in email, there in composing texts, there on the web??
cutting and pasting a postcode from a received text message into googlemaps should not be this much hardwork or at least it wasn't on my HTC
My ipod touch is locked up. It says to connect to itunes, but when I try to connect it to itunes, it says it cannot connect to my ipod unless i type in the passcode. I can't type in the passcode because it's lock up. What can I do?

My new X6 arrived today. My initial reaction was fairly positive but I have a few questions and would be grateful for some advice please.First off, my old phone (N95) had an extremely handy Home Media Server feature. I would've thought the X6 would have something similar considering it is a multi-media type device. However, i'm unable to find such a feature. Could someone advise if Nokia have dropped the HMS for this model please?
Also, most of my passwords for internet logons and email etc were all created using a generator with random letters, numbers and characters. On my N95, I was able to copy/paste this info and save a lot of time when setting up mail accounts and other apps. I know the X6 does support copy/paste but the paste option isn't present for many password boxes. Is there a way around this please?

I've got an S2. I tried to connect with the exchange server from my company. It works but there are one problem. The calender can't be sychronized..better to say I can't see my appointments. What can I do? Is there somebody where it works? I think everbody knows the problem with the lock screen.... the display is always locked after the display timeout....of course I can increase the time for the display timeout but i think my battery will be empty very quickly...is there an option to increase the time for the locked screen?
