Galaxy S5 :: Swapping Power And Back Key Functions?
Apr 4, 2015
How to swap my power/lock button and my back key?? My power button stopped working kinda worryed my phones going to die and I won't be able to reboot it. I am using softness on my s5 so sacrificing my unused key isn't a problem...
When I lock my SGS II i would expect all the buttons to lock! However the power button function remain active and its far too easy to accidently power off my phone or set it into flight mode.Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" ??
I have a 9900 on AT&T with unlimited data. I'm on a business premier plan, and last week I received an iPhone 4S from one of the partners at work. I'd like to switch back and forth between phones, if possible, but I wanted to check and see what steps I'd have to take regarding sim card, data plan etc. Looked through forums and it looks like I'd have to buy some kind of sim adapter, is that correct?
My phone was working perfectly fine this morning when I got up. I went to make a call, it wouldn't connect so I went to Restart it, it froze on the "Starting Apps" screen. I did the whole "Holding the volume & Power" It powers up like it should, but doesn't move past the Samsung S6 Edge Screen. The blue light is flickering on it also. I don't know what to do!!!
It appears that the power button on my Galaxy S6 isn't working anymore. I have faulted this with samsung and they have asked me to send it to them for repair. Today, I was going to back up my phone but my battery went flat before I could do this and now I cant get the phone back on!! Some have suggested holding down the volume up button then plugging in the usb lead while connected to a computer, it didn't work. I have also tried the volume down button and the home button at the same time while plugged in via usb, this didn't work either. how I can get into recovery mode without using the power button, I really need to get the phone back on, the battery is sealed in.
The multi tasking and back buttons are not illuminated on my s5. Yes,I have turned off the power saver. I have tried it with the LED indicator lights off and on. I have tried turning the brightness adjustment off and on.
No matter what I do the WiFi on my Samsung Galaxy S6 does not work with certain apps and processes. It seems to be connected with Google- such as, pictures on the Play Store will not load, YouTube videos constantly are loading but never play and certain games think I am not connected to the internet at all. Things like web browsing and google search work fine however, but streaming is incredibly slow. This ONLY happens with my AT&T WiFi at home- WiFi in other locations works just fine. My WiFi signal is full strength at home. I constantly have to use my data services (T-Mobile) and everything works great then.
Here is what I already tried: 1. Changing my DNS settings to Google Server 2. Clear app data and caches 3. Uninstalling and reinstalling the apps 4. Complete factory reset of the device (and lost all my games from a corrupt backup file, with nothing working still)
When I was resetting my device, I knew the WiFi still wasn't working because when it tried to connect to my google account only and not my Samsung account (again- google seems to be where the problem happens) it was stuck at "getting info". But when I switched to data it worked.
I have lost functionality of the native app that came with my Galaxy S5. Have tried thr GO and Weather Channel apps and theu both failed. Lollipop sucks, no doubt, but the must be a weather app that works with it on the S5.
I have recently downladed Handcent for my sms messages and its a great improvement on the stock software (even though I previously thought the stock one was fine).ould you all recommend your preferred apps to take over other basic phone functions, such as the dialler, an email client, camera, music player, etc.
Last night my phone was working and charging when I went to sleep. This morning when I woke up the screen is black and I can not get the phone to turn back on.
I haven't seen anyone having this issue out of the numerous ones I've seen on this site. My iPhone 4's screen was sometimes going black. Hitting the home or power button wouldn't turn it back on. I'd have to hold down the home and power buttons to do a hard reboot to get it back up.
I returned my phone yesterday to get replaced because I was also having the No SIM Card Installed error. My new iPhone 4 is having the same black screen issue occasionally, though.
I put my microsim into my 3gs to use for next few days cause Ill be outdoors and do not want to risk damaging new IP4 Tested calls and such and works fine. Now will there be any issues with ATT by doing this?
I have a new iphone 4 which was provided as part of a new business contract through a telecoms company not Orange. The Orange sim came separately. However the 3g web access is painfully bad as compared to my old 3gs iphone on T-mobile. It's pretty much useless in most parts of London.Which brings me to my question. Is there any way of telling if my new iphone4 is unlocked without having to buy a new mini sim card? Any way of checking through the firmware or something?I was seriously thinking there was something wrong with my phone but all my colleagues on Orange also have the same problem. We were out on a course yesterday and I had my old 3gs whilst everyone else had their new iphone4 and I was the only one able to access mail and use the web the whole way there on the train and at the actual centre itself, which a lot of my colleagues were none to pleased about. I presume it's Orange being a bit rubbish and not the new iphone4 having a weaker signal reception?
so basically someone sent me an image on my blackberry curve (via txt) and I really need to see it, however.most of the time my blackberry doesnt let me see the image, instead when I click "retrieve now" it says the image.could not be retreaved,
Soo I didnt know what to do, so I thought, why not try putting my SIM card into another phone, so I put it in my old Samsung Taco, it loaded up alright but none of the messages are there, they are just the ones from the old Taco, same with pictures, and everything else, is there anyway to view that image on that phone?
I'm afraid I know the answer to this issue, but is there a quick-fix (or has anyone had this before) to the lights underneath the bottom right panel buttons (the "Back" and "End Call/Power Off" buttons) not working? The lights underneat the bottom left side are still working, but barely.
My Blackberry Torch will not power on. It was working today with a slight delay and in attempt to speed it up I attempted to power off and was unable to do so. I then took that battery pack out but was unable to power back on at all. The battery is fully charged.
When browsing trough one of my favourite news sites, I noticed when pressing the return button, it does the same as the recent apps button. It brings up the list of all my recently used apps.
I have tried a bunch of things like clearing the cache, getting a third party app to get a return button on the screen, even a full factory reset.
I have had my Sony Ericsson W995 for almost a year now, and the contacts keep swapping themselves around, I had to get the backup from my memory card which is really old, but my problem is, if two contacts start with the same letter, they jumble themselves around. I.E, I will have a friend called David (Which isn't his name, by the way) and that will be right under Dad. David will become the same number as Dad, therefore making me have to get Davids number again.
I have this data dongle with a removable SIM card. Keep it plugged into the laptop all day long. At night, surfing the web is more convenient on the E7 than the laptop, and so I regularly turn off the E7, and replace the SIM card with the one I have in the dongle (haven't subscrived for a data plan on the SIM i use in the phone, cause i always have this laptop with me and paying for two data connections is an overkill, just need it for like 30 mins every night before I fall asleep). Don't really care about the dongle, i will throw it away if it breaks, it's not that expensive. But will removing the SIM card from the phone once every day damage the SIM card tray on the E7?
I got used to end calls quickly that way in Android 1.6 and it worked pretty well for me for several moths. I actually found it a very good idea, one of the best and most intuitive since I started to use it.ow I often do not end my calls properly and that cauese me a lot of trouble. Local SE customer support told me that it is a firmware matter and cannot be changed. Isn't there any HW buttons configurator or another way to configure the HW buttons on the phone?
At the time of writing this im a awaiting yet another problem with power to this unit. I was talked into by a sales rep into buying another Xperia after experiencing the exact same problem with the older version as im now experiencing with my current model. I rely heavily on my phone and this is a massive inconvenience to me. The problem running out of power/charger not charging/ not being able to switch back on. Then the problem resolves itself only to happen again... And again... And again. This is not good enough. Funnily enough both models ive had problems with just after the warranty runs out. Leaving me with using my phone insurance not only making my phone insurance more expensive the following year but having to pay an excess charge.
This morning the screen of my Z5 Compact starting coming back on after I press the Power Button to turn it off. It seems to be triggered by movement: If I'm holding the phone after pressing the PB, the screen comes back on immediately when my hand moves. If I place the phone flat on a table and press the PB, without additional movement, the screen stays off.
The screen stays off if allowed to Sleep past the set duration.
The past couple of days I've also been getting notifications that certain Apps are preventing Stamina mode from operating. This morning it was Facebook. Yesterday, it was another one I can't remember. Can these issues be related?
How did I delete my Contacts? Here's what happened:
1. I had a good set of contacts in the phone itself, and on the SD card.
2. Trying to determine if Wifi Calling could possibly work with no sim installed, or with a dead Tmo sim installed, I tried both ways, in that order. (In fact, though different messages appeared, neither scenario worked. Both times, my SD was in the Defy. And the dead sim had never been used in the Defy.) I had to sign into Motoblur during this exercise.
3. I put my good sim back in.I signed back into Motoblur.I noticed during the evening that incoming calls did not show the caller etc etc etc. In fact, I had no contacts, said the phone. Not even, apparently, in the phone memory.
4. I imported contacts from the SD card. A couple recent changes made to the phone memory contacts were not present.
What in the previous steps caused my phone contacts to disappear? Just loading up a dead sim? Could it have really been so dumb as to attempt to generate a new (blank) set from that sim without asking, saying 'this will replace your contacts; do you want to continue? Though that sim had been used in a Moto Spice, Android 2.1, I cannot say with certainty that I'd ever exported the Spice XT300 contacts to the sim.And now, I decide to export the contacts to the SIM for safety sake. I see only one item, My Info. I choose All Contacts (at the top) , and it sits there seemingly forever, doing nothing. The only thing I can do is back out of that. There's 'Select All' at the bottom left, but it can't be clicked if All Contacts was. If I do that instead, it just selects me.
I rebooted, and got nothing different.I only have 100 contacts. So if those 100 are in the phone memory, why won't they export? If they're not in there, then where did the Import from SD put them?
Around a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
has any one tried swapping out a trackpad in place of the trackball. i know the keyboard would need replaced also.i have found the replacement parts and i have someone who can help me take it apart but was curious if anyones done it ?
Is this the same as an upgrade swap? I actually talked to ATT via online chat, and they said once an iPhone 4 is ordered, its stuck to that line. But im pretty sure thats not true.So I want to add a line with iPhone 4 then once I receive her, put it on my primary line, use a dummy phone on the new line, and cancel data on the new line. It works out because I need a new line anyway, I have unlimited data on my primary line, and it saves me some $$ in getting the iPhone at full discount price.
The only thing I was worried about was being able to cancel data, but the ATT rep said I can cancel data at any time. And to order online, I would need to add the single line to my account and order it, once I receive it then I can switch to family plan. Will I need to do the same call ATT and give them IMEI's of everything to swap? Anyone done something similar?
