Galaxy S5 :: Screen Not Going Off And Battery Down
Oct 29, 2015
Charged Phone Last Night To 100% Went To Bed With Screen Brightness Down And Flight Mode On Woke This Morning To The Screen Been On And Battery Down To 33%
In the screenshot you can see from 12:00 till 13:00 I wasn't using my phone and got a 20% battery drop, I went from the office to home. See screenshot.
A co worker of mine has a S6 and is having trouble with the screen randomly coming on and going off. As a result I think it's killing his battery. If I look at his battery stats the screen is sitting on 32%, Messenger is at 16% and Facebook is 13%. That's the three biggest readings and all others look normal. What's happening is that the screen will just pop on by itself, stay for 4 or 5 seconds, turn off for about 5 seconds, then come right back on and stay for 4 or 5 seconds. The cycle keeps repeating itself. He says that it will do this sometimes for 4 or 5 days in a row, then not do it for maybe close to a week, then it comes back.
I thought he might be getting some sort of reminder from something that is turning the screen on but then it doesn't make sense that it goes right back off again. Since it's not my phone I can't get any screen grabs or anything.
I've just received my Galaxy S2, the first android phone I've ever owned. I've been advised to charge the battery for several hours the first time. When I plugged in the battery charger the battery charging icon appears for about 1 minute and then the screen goes completely dead when the charger is plugged in! Every phone I've had since the mid 90s constantly shows a battery symbol charging throughout the charging process. Is there something wrong with my phone or charger or does the Galaxy S2 not show anything on the screen when charging up?
This only happens when I leave it in the car over night. The phone will be dark and won't restart unless I remove and replace the battery.
This does not happen if I bring it in the house and let it sit. Battery level shows around 50% this morning after leaving in the car overnight but the same story, can turn on unless the battery is removed.
on Samsung Galaxy S5 it was always showing when i plug in my charger it used to show that blue screen where you can see how much time left before you plug your charger out and also shows three steps like Speed, and Trickle etc...
Since I allowed an update on my phone, my screen/background is continuously coming on by itself and this drains my battery. The screen used to only come on when I pressed the power button. I have my display settings set so the screen is supposed to cut off after 15 seconds of inactivity.
I posted about a problem with my battery losing up to 30% battery on reboot but got no answers so am hoping somebody will test their phone for meWhen my battery drops to just below 50%, if I reboot by pressing and holding the power button for about 8 seconds, on reboot, my battery has dropped to as little as 13%, even if there was 48% left prior to rebooting.I originally thought this was happening after tethering but it has turned out, it does it regardless of how much or how little I use the phone and even without tetheringI am on stock 2.3.4 XEU, manufacture unlocked and wondered if some kind soul would be kind enought to see if they can replicate the problem. It needs to be the 9100, complete stock and not rooted really as I am trying to determine whether it's a hardware issue or software issue.
I've had my BB Curve for about a year and a half now. Last night, I went to charge my BB after the battery had drained to find on the screen a drained battery icon with a red cross/line through it. I had reloaded the set up on my phone and it still does not work and it seems that the white loading bar under the icon still loads after it has appeared and stops at around 75%.Will a new battery fix this?As I have said, I have reloaded and wiped everything on my phone and I have also tried the 'take out the battery while it's charged, put it back in method', nothing happened.
how I (in the simplest possible way) can use my pc as a secondary screen to my galaxy sII? I want my screen on the phone to be mirrored on the computor, so I can show (i.e.with a projector) my actions on the Samsung to an audience.
I just recently received a new LG G4. Unfortunately I made the poor choice of bringing it with me to a rafting trip. I tried my best to keep it dry, but it ended up getting wet. The indicator on the back of the phone when you take out the battery is now red, meaning there is now water damage to the phone.
I dried everything the best I could, put it in rice, and I am positive everything is dry inside and out. When I put in the battery and turn on the power button, there is one short buzz, but nothing else happens. No light, the screen doesn't turn on, nothing. Just that one buzz. When the charger is plugged in, nothing else happens either. However, when I take out the battery and plug in the charger, the screen lights up with a picture of a battery and a flashing question mark (assuming this indicates that there is no battery in the phone). The screen is on; the question mark repeatedly flashes.
Does this maybe mean my phone is still working, and it's only the battery that needs replacement? I'm going to see if I can go to a repair store and ask, maybe try a different battery and seeing if that works...
I unplugged my phone from my computer (it was connected as a media device), and now I am have words scrolled along the right side of my screen and the edges of my phone blink red when I select something. What this issue is and how to fix it?
So as things are perfect and smiley in the world, the way to make your day complete is to drop your brand new samsung galaxy s2 from a pathetically small height and watch as the whole screen shatters to bits. Enough to put anyone in a great mood.Fixing the screen isn't the problem though. 02 have agreed to fix it for me, for a small fee, but they have confirmed that the whole phone will be flashed before hand. This is not good. I have a lot of memories on the phone that i would like back.I have connected the phone to samsung keis, however, since the screen locked, the dam thing won't let me in to my own data. Understandably this is to ensure absolutle security to your sh** but I can't help wondering why samsung didn't install an option that allows you to unlock the phone from your computer. really need some help figuring out how I can get my sh** back. If anyone knows how to bypass the screen lock or just refresh it. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I'm not in a great rush since my mum refuses to pay for the fix. and it'll take me a few weeks to save up.i can't unlock the phone because i can't see the screen and i think the touch pad is bust as well.
Spotify is that the full screen artwork on the lock screen has gone. It now shows a small widget that only has a pause and next track option. What happened to the full screen that was there before with my Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5s.
How long does the battery last? Not everyone upgrades to a new phone every year. By the s6 battery being non-removable it assures Samsung that you will upgrade more frequently. Dead or faulty non-removable battery(new phone). Dead, faulty removable battery(new battery)...
Just out of curiosity, is there any OEM battery for Galaxy S6 is sold online and how to remove the battery? I wouldn't take risk of removing the battery myself though.
I miss the full screen album art on the lock screen from my lg G3 while playing any type of media (Pandora, Spotify, etc.) ... Even worked while I used xbmc (now kodi)... I believe even Samsung had this as well. While some didn't like it, I loved it!
Any way to get that back on the s6/edge?? Not sure why they did away with this.
I'm rooted, so if there's any mods out there that'll achieve this for root, let me know
So my fully updated S5 lock screen will disable itself randomly. I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.
When someone asks in this newsgroup for me to attach a screen swipe so that the reader can see what I'm talking about, how do I do that. I know how to make screen stripe swipe. How do you paste it into the text box.
Right i know you can move the home screens around by pinching but you cant do the same for the app screens, basically when i got my phone everything im downloading and want to use is on the apps screen on page 4, well id like to put everything i use on page 4 onto page one, can i do this? And also how can i put icons that are in the apps screen onto my homescreen?
My Blackberry curve 9360 got water damage a little while ago, and I had to get a brandnew battery and ever since I have put the battery in the only thing that comes up is an empty battery with an red X thru it. I have charged it for more than 8 hours and nothing has changed.
My Galaxy S II has the annoying habit of having its screen go into idle or sleep mode and then blacken when I'm on a call. I want to have the "Phone" screen showing up at all times when I'm on a call, so I can access the speakerphone, etc. Is there a way to "lock" the screen in "Phone" mode when I'm on a call?
I took my phone from my pocket and the screen was dark. I clicked the tab to light screen and nothing happened, Phone is charged and was working all morning. Is the phone off and if so how do I turn it back on. I have held all of the tabs on the sides of the phone and screen is still dark.
my battery life on my s6 has been draining fast I'm not even getting 3 hours of SoT time not really sure why. I've done what the battery sticky thread has said to do but still no improvement. Screen is on 25% most of the time, this is with just randomly checking stuff at times no games or anything like that.
