Whenever I grab my phone it defaults to the phone keyboard which is rarely what I'm actually grabbing my phone for. Is there some way to reset an option so that it just goes to home screen and not keyboard?

I havn't been able to find the option to download new dictionaries in the Google Keyboard settings. I use to have this option when I used the same keyboard on my Nexus 4. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy s6.

I really hate haven't to choose an alt screen for something that is used more than a period sometimes for me. (since the period auto fills in if you hit double space)

I was "playing" with my phone and first tried the fingerprint, which i had trouble getting in after that. Then i tried the 4 digit code. I went back in to change it back to swipe but it is no longer an option. It says it is turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. Not sure what I did, but I need getting swipe back. Should have been working instead of playing anyhow...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6 on the EE network in the UK. I should have the option to use wifi calling but the option is not present in the settings menus. My phone was not originally supplied by the EE mobile provider, instead I purchased the phone which appears to have come from Italy and has the Italian mobile provider TIM (this is shown on the CSC code on the phone)
How to either change this CSC code to the UK one for EE or at least the generic one for UK specific firmware, or a way of somehow enabling the wifi calling feature - I did look this up but I can't edit the necessary system config (xml) files as they are read-only and my phone is not rooted.
Was just wondering if there is a way to disable keyboard sounds on the S6 Edge ONLY during a phone call. As, if the other party is on speaker phone and starts to type on the keyboard, all the click sounds go through to the second party and the voice goes very low.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn the LG G3 if you don't use the LG keyboard you get the keyboard notification giving you the option to switch between keyboards. To get rid of this you need to have only one keyboard ticked in settings, however there is no way to disable the LG keyboard that I can find, meaning the notification is always present.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchase the lumia 900 and overall I'm very happy with it. My suggestion is to make an option in the settings under keyboard for 'show emoticon key'. Most people don't use/need 50 smiley face options, and I'm perfectly fine with typing : and ) every once in awhile when necessary.I'm left handed, and use my left thumb to hit the space bar when texting/emailing. About 50% of the time i accidentally hit the emoticon key and start typing all sorts of smiley faces, then have to hit the backspace key. I lose about 5-10 seconds every text message.

I recently updated my 5800's firmware and I a now find that the FULL page qwerty keyboard is no longer an option for inputting text. Can anyone confirm this? Can I go back to the old firmware? I am visually impaired the full page keyboard was very useful.

I find this quite irritable for someone who uses a lot of emojis but never voice input. View 11 Replies View RelatedMy phone has been acting weird lately in a number of different ways. Firstly, if I am in a message with my keyboard open, and press the power button, when I turn on the screen again, the keyboard is stuck on the lock screen.
Secondly, my keyboard seems to be overlapping the pointer when i tap on a word and when I spell a word and it autocorrects,but I want to revert to the previous word so I tap on it, that previous word in the dropbox is hidden behind the keyboard as well. See attachment.
Is it possible when using the keyboard, and the symbol key to select a symbol etc, that after you've selected the symbol you want and you then press the space bar, that the keyboard reverts back to letters rather than remaining on the symbol page?

It will not type and will stay on the screen (even on home screen etc) until the device is locked and unlocked and sometimes it has to be restarted. I am using Google keyboard and dad is Swiftkey so its unlikely to be the actual keyboard app.

Before this phone I had an iphone 4 and I assumed that the galaxy worked in the same way as you just download an emoticon app from the app market and then they were on your keyboard. Tried that a few times in the Market but it didnt put the emoticons in the keyboard. Instead it was a completely different text messaging app all together. Would be nice if i could get them on the keyboard that comes with the galaxy instead of a completely different text messaging app. I saw the if you hold down the period button you get a few smilies but they are just the ones like this for example =) =P.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLike a lot of people, I prefer the Google keyboard over the Samsung one. Annoyingly, an icon appears in the notification bar whenever the Google keyboard is summoned. One way to get rid of this icon is to disable all other keyboards under Language and input -> Default keyboard -> Set up input methods. Unfortunately I've noticed that the Samsung keyboard keeps turning back on all the time.
