I want to change the keyboard on my wife's HTC Desire and have followed the instructions here: How to install a new keyboard on the HTC Desire - Know Your Cell. The trouble is when I go to Settings/Language and Keyboard, it doesn't have the Input Method option.

When I set ChunJay input mathod as default input mathod, the system will set other mathod back as default after I type-in something and exit the app.
Today is 2010/06/11, I am sure the latest FW had been updated.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi just receivedan htc desire z/g2 from hong kong. it is running android 2.2. but it seems it is the older t-mobile g2 version.... i dont see the personalize button anywhere, nor do i see any of the live/interactive wallpapers or how to change them.....i am in mexico and will be using the telcel gsm network...anyway i can update this to the newer version??...i really have no clue what the differences are, etc. i go into menu > settings> and dont see any personalize option or wallpaper option...this is my first android phone.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI updated to 5.1.1 on my Verizon iPhone 4 32MB when the notification popped up. Since then I have had difficulties with the keyboard. It does not pop up reliably when I touch a text entry field. When it does not, the Paste command appears instead. When I turn the phone off, and then back on, it appears to work correctly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Xperia pro (MK16a) So when you're entering text, if you hold down on the screen, you have the option to choose Japanese input and Chinese input. And when you choose Japanese input, you can also open up the setting menu, and inside the menu there are options for physical keyboard, and vitural keyboard. Although Chinese input does not have those settings, but surprisingly I CAN use Chinese input with my physical slide out keybaord. BUT, it is NOT the case with Japanese input. Please give me some guidence on how this works, is it a BUG or something? Because clearly it SUPPOSE to have the option to use my slideout keyboard for Japanese input.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from my Bold 9000 to the Bold 9700 and now Japanese Input is not working anymore. I installed several eastAsia packages from different providers and its possible to read Japanese but when I am trying to choose Japanese as input language on my 9700 its switching back to the language before. korean and thai are working without any problem.
It seems to be that this problem only occures on Blackberry's with a QWERTZ keyboard. We tested it from several carrier (O2 Germany, O2 Szech and T-Mobile Germany [all have QWERTZ keyboard]).
Currently installed OS: v5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147)
I mean, installing agingerbread keyboard from play store, the voice input icon appears in the keyboard...However, I'd prefer to use the stock one.This is for the xperia active, compilation 4.0.2.A.0.62 (android 2.3.4) and at the moment I don't plan to upgrade to ics.

Started with VIBER OUT (when I tried to purchase credit) but now it is pervasive - AY text input is expected through voice.
A small window at the bottom of the screen pops-up (with a mic button and the google logo on it) - I can't get rid of it ...
I'd been sending text messages during the evening, then I went to reply to a text as normal and the keyboard had changed without me doing anything? It changed from the normal "qwerty" keyboard to the old style keyboard, with the abc on button "a", def on button "b", ghi on button "c" if that makes sense, like on old phones?It was like that all night. Switched my phone off at night as normal, switched it back on again in the morning and it was back to the "qwerty" keyboard again. Does anyone know what caused this to happen, it was really strange!!And I quite liked that old style keyboard, I dont know what the technical term for it is, but it was much quicker and less mistakes typing a message than the qwerty keyboard?

I initially had to hard reset my X2 because the data encryption feature caused some unwanted effects, i.e. the data encryption feature did not work properly. Since that hard reset, I left the default keyboard input method as multi-touch. Just today I thought I woud like to try Swype. However once I bring up the keyboard input options and select the radio button by Swype, it stays greyed out. Are there some possibly 'lock out' options I might have selected that doesn't allow me to select Swype? I know Swype works because I had it before the hard reset.

I like the MultiLing keyboard, but I've had one issue that has come up in only the last couple weeks. View 7 Replies View RelatedMy network service provider has given me a plan in which 2G network is by default activated and I am also taking 3G plan on top of it. For normal use i want to use 2G network and in special cases where i need speed I want to use 3G network. Is there any option in the phone where i can switch to any network ( 2G or 3G) as per my need ? or switch off complete mobile network when not needed ?
for example at present If i am accessing network using 2G network and speed is not good enough can i switch to 3G network ? and once my work is done can i switch back to 2 G or completely turn off mobile network ?
I've noticed a feature on my HTC Desire Z whereby the keyboard keys will light up if the phone deems itself to be in poor lighting conditions. Personally I'd prefer the keyboard to light up anyway, whenever I open it since it's much easier to read when it's lit up. Is there anywhere where I can change this setting so that the keys light up as soon as I slide out the keyboard, regardless of the ambient lighting conditions?
