Xperia Active :: Enable Voice Input In Stock Keyboard?
Nov 10, 2012
I mean, installing agingerbread keyboard from play store, the voice input icon appears in the keyboard...However, I'd prefer to use the stock one. This is for the xperia active, compilation 4.0.2.A.0.62 (android 2.3.4) and at the moment I don't plan to upgrade to ics.
A brief history if it matters to trouble shooting this. I initially had to hard reset my X2 because the data encryption feature caused some unwanted effects, i.e. the data encryption feature did not work properly. Since that hard reset, I left the default keyboard input method as multi-touch. Just today I thought I woud like to try Swype. However once I bring up the keyboard input options and select the radio button by Swype, it stays greyed out. Are there some possibly 'lock out' options I might have selected that doesn't allow me to select Swype? I know Swype works because I had it before the hard reset.
How to get voice input on the LG G3 keyboard? I have added it in the menu and activated everything but the handwriting pencil appears instead. Even after a long press on the "wheel", no voice key appears...
Without me doing anything, my (new) HTC ONE M9 started requiring me to SPEAK the necessary text (e.g. passwords) instead of presenting the keyboard where one would normally type the text.
Started with VIBER OUT (when I tried to purchase credit) but now it is pervasive - AY text input is expected through voice.
A small window at the bottom of the screen pops-up (with a mic button and the google logo on it) - I can't get rid of it ...
Whenever I try to use voice input with any application installed, the feature does not work with my phone, I get a box, displaying connection problemak againI have enabled the voice input, in the settings of NeoV. Though I did not see this working.
I have been trying to work this out all morning but I cannot work out how to turn on Japanese Keyboard.the is language and keyboards in setting but this does not turn on the keyboard input when you are typing.
I have a Xperia pro (MK16a) So when you're entering text, if you hold down on the screen, you have the option to choose Japanese input and Chinese input. And when you choose Japanese input, you can also open up the setting menu, and inside the menu there are options for physical keyboard, and vitural keyboard. Although Chinese input does not have those settings, but surprisingly I CAN use Chinese input with my physical slide out keybaord. BUT, it is NOT the case with Japanese input. Please give me some guidence on how this works, is it a BUG or something? Because clearly it SUPPOSE to have the option to use my slideout keyboard for Japanese input.
I'd been sending text messages during the evening, then I went to reply to a text as normal and the keyboard had changed without me doing anything? It changed from the normal "qwerty" keyboard to the old style keyboard, with the abc on button "a", def on button "b", ghi on button "c" if that makes sense, like on old phones? It was like that all night. Switched my phone off at night as normal, switched it back on again in the morning and it was back to the "qwerty" keyboard again. Does anyone know what caused this to happen, it was really strange!!And I quite liked that old style keyboard, I dont know what the technical term for it is, but it was much quicker and less mistakes typing a message than the qwerty keyboard?
I see there is a voice dialer application, but I can't see how to activate it. There's nothing in the application drawer, no widget, the built in user manual doesn't seem to mention it and even google has let me down.
Not sure when this happened, but I cannot turn on voice feedback in S Voice. It is grayed out. Tried clearing data to no avail. I have 4.4.4 and am on Verizon. I have done all the OTA updates.
The Xperia Mini Pro is advertised as having this excellent feature called Smart Keyboard where, when you slide out the hardware keyboard, it enables you immediately to start typing an SMS or email or search phrase or whatever. However, despite having "Enable smart keyboard" checked in Settings -> Sony Ericsson, this has never worked for me - either from the normal Sony Ericsson Home launcher or any other, either with stock firmware or with subsequent updates (currently on 4.0.2.A.0.58). Sliding out the hardware keyboard just unlocks the phone, that's it. Interestingly, this promised feature is also mentioned as not working in this review of the SK17i's big brother, the Xperia Pro.
I have an unlocked blackberry storm 9350 and i want to know if i could do changes on the following:
-the pop-up Select sms contact
-the input bar that is on top of the keyboard when i try to send a text
Is there anyway i could hide the bar or change the select sms contact pop-up so that it doesnt pop-up anymore, so it would look like this ?The following are pictures of my phone.Bar on top of keyboard?pop-up select sms contact?
I pay for unlimited data through sprint, but this does not include tethering. On the custom roms I've used, it's always worked out of the box, but now that I'm on a stock rom, I get a 'your device does not support this service' message. What's the tweak the custom roms are using to bypass this? I've searched like crazy, and the only thing I've found is an instruction to modify a line that my build.prop doesn't have
I updated to 5.1.1 on my Verizon iPhone 4 32MB when the notification popped up. Since then I have had difficulties with the keyboard. It does not pop up reliably when I touch a text entry field. When it does not, the Paste command appears instead. When I turn the phone off, and then back on, it appears to work correctly.
When I am talking using voice input I keep getting cut off after a few words. I have to keep repeating myself picking up where it cuts out. Not useable like this. It happens no matter which application I am in and no matter which keyboard I have active. This never happens on the Note3.
I've successfully paired an Apple Bluetooth keyboard with a Blackberry 8520, but cannot use it for input. How can I get it to work or am I wasting my time trying?
Unlike other stock apps and Verizon bloatware, I was unable to re-enable the stock Email app.
My stock Email app used to be linked to my office Outlook email. From further research, I have found that it is the cause for warning such as "Unfortunately, process.com.motorola.services has been force closed" or something like that to pop up. My attemp to fix this was to download other developer's apps, but soon to find out nearly all of them only supports POP3 and IMAP. Needless to say I feel nauseating just thinking about spending $20 for apps like ActiveSync and TouchDown for the stupid Outlook email!
I sometimes have difficulty using the keyboard. It pops up as expected, but instead of pushing a form or webpage to display above the keyboard, so I can see what's being typed in, it covers it up.
I want to change the keyboard on my wife's HTC Desire and have followed the instructions here: How to install a new keyboard on the HTC Desire - Know Your Cell. The trouble is when I go to Settings/Language and Keyboard, it doesn't have the Input Method option.
I have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.
i cant call my phone when my xperia active go to lock screen mode...it looks like i've shut down my phone but i'm not...is any1 here can help me with this matter...i'll already update my phone 2 the latest software update via pc companion....and 1 other Q is y r my xperia active always restart at random period of time
yesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
I'm locked out of my phone. Whenever my phone restarts, it for some reason always changes the default input to Google Voice Input. I just recently changed my security from a Pattern to a Pin. The only problem is now I can't enter my unlock PIN with the google voice keyboard. I said the numbers followed by "enter" and "return" or the numbers by themselves but it didn't work.
