Mar 5, 2011I use auto power on/off on my BB Tour 9630. When it powers on it does not enable bluetooth automatically. I then have to manually enable bluetooth with Manage Connections. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Then I launch options scroll to Bluetooth and then enable Bluetooth there. Again sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to repeat, repeat this step or power off manually then power on. Thinking I should leave it powered on 24/7 and just leave bluetooth on 24/7.

Jul 11, 2010Bluetooth radio is turned on. I've discovered my device but the Desktop software only has the option to connect by USB. Ver 5.0. During installation there is no option to choose what type of connection you want. I see there are options to choose between USB and Bluetooth or both, however they are grayed out. I have a successful USB connection. Everything works fine but I want to go wireless.
Running on Toshiba Sattelite laptop with Vista 32bit ultimate OS
Toshiba Bluetooth stack is turned on but it's Toshiba's - not microsoft (don't know if that matters)
Device is found and paired. I have this same problem on 2 computers running different OS, my laptop has Vista ( a Toshiba) & my desktop has XP (HP). I don't get it as I have tried every configuration I can think of. It can SEE the BB but no option to enable bluetooth, only none or USB. I'm assuming it may be the BB os 5.0?

Feb 17, 2011About the upcoming devices all featuring touchscreens, how about adding touchscreen enable/disable option ?For example, my company operates gas stations so I work with liquid hydrocarbons (gas, biodiesel, motor oil) and most of the time during the day I use the trackpad for phone calls and work apps like DocsToGo or BBM instead of a touchscreen because of its functionality and well, it won't become a mess if my hands are a little dirty, just like the touchscreen would. But during the night, hanging out with my friends or family, when sharing videos and photos, I'd love it if my BB 9700 running OS6 had a touchscreen (that's why I'd buy a Bold with a touchscreen), so I could have better media playing and internet browsing experience.Also, I've heard smartphone processors render faster when they are not handling touchscreens, so disabling it could give a merely functional experience while working (which is what most working people love about BlackBerry devices) and would save some battery life as well. Still, you could get the full social and media experience(which is what RIM is aiming at too with the upcoming devices) anytime by enabling it again.

BB Tour 9630 :: Tour 5.0 Bluetooth Stack Fails With All Headsets?
Apr 20, 2010And apparently RIM is aware of this bad Bluetooth stack? This is what BlueAnt tech support is telling me and that it's BlackBerry's problem. I have a Tour running 5.0 and have never had an issue with any Bluetooth headset except the BlueAnt Z9i. My BlueAnt Z9i does seem to work fine on 4.7, but I'll chuck the Z9i in the can before I stick w/4.7 for any longer than testing purposes! BlueAnt said I should contact RIM for details on a solution; however, I see no reasonable means to directly contact RIM tech support?And since this is RIM's official support forums, unless I'm mistaken? Does anyone know anything about this faulty Bluetooth in 5.0 on the Tour and Storm 2 that causes random issues with Bluetooth headsets? Random issues are: Random beeps, buttons on headset being unresponsive, sound and mic not working, and hang-ups. These are all completely random issues the button unresponsiveness can be fixed by disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry device. And then the headset buttons will work again, enabling the headset to be powered down, etc This is of course a fix until it randomly happens again the next time it's paired to the Tour running 5.0!"As you know this is a specific issue with Blackberry tour (9630) and storm 2 phones using 5.0 OS, no updating of BlueAnt products will help as it's a fault with the phone." BlueAnt said "I believe It occurs on almost all Bluetooth devices within anything from one weeks to two months of pairing with a Blackberry tour using 5.0." When trying to utilize the Ford SYNC in my new vehicle, the Tour will not download the address book to enable voice call via the phonebook. On talking to the SYNC tech support they indicated I needed the firmware upgraded to version 4.7.130 as a minimum. How can i get the firmware updated? I checked with Verizon support and they only know how to do the standard software upgrades, not firmware.
