I have just switched from Apple to Samsung after about 5-6 years. I have a Samung S6 but for some reason Ihave no option for turning on my Fingerprint Recognition. I have also noticed that I have no option to switch to easy mode.
I have a new s6 edge and I never quite liked the fingerprint to unlock option but I find it quite useful and responsive on this device so I do use it.
Question is is there a way to have fingerprint n pattern unlock working simultaneously? I want the fingerprint for myself and for a few friends who use my cell they could use the pattern cos the backup password is to annoying to type otherwise
I have a sprint iPhone 5s and I wanted to see if the fingerprint scanner actually works. It turns out my phone does not come with that option.. All it says is passcode. I look at reviews and it suppose to say touch id and passcode. Right? My software is up to date (iOS7.1.1) I been having a lot of problems with this phone lately and it getting to the point where I thinking getting another type of phone.
I having trouble with the fingerprint ID! It will not work for me at all! Have to use the backup password about 99%!
I have an iPhone 6S and on the first setup of Touch ID; it works about 99.9% of the time! Not sure why the S6 is not working but I going to contact Samsung and see what they say! Not happy at all with the fingerprint scanner not functioning at all! Brand new phone too!
I spend about 2 hours and did all my fingers on my right hand and it just will not recognize any of them! I even clean my right hand with orange peel soap to get all the oils out of my hand and dry it with air until it was dry as can be but still no luck with the ID!
The one and ONLY thing I miss from my jail broken iphone 6, is the tweak I had installed that used the fingerprint scanner to sign me into apps, such as my banking, redbox, capitalone app, all apps not web browser based, is this possible on the S6? I've been looking and don't see the option ...
Before I accidentally reset my phone the fingerprint unlock work good and fast. Sometimes it wouldn't read my fingerprint but it opened fast when it did. Now after the reset it reads my finger well but take 5 to 7 seconds to unlock the phone.
A few months back I flashed xtrestolite to my g920i and have since flashed odex, deodex and several aroma versions in different combinations. Since the initial flash the scanner has not worked. Currently using the latest unikernal, though was using a different one when I first flashed. TWRP latest too.
When I try *#0* and try the sensor test I see "unfortunately, hwmoduletest has stopped working" lTrying to utilise the scanner will always show "an error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor, if this message appears repeatedly please restart your device" though restarting has never worked. I have not tried going back to stock as my carrier rom is 5.0.2 still.
I've been googling around and haven't found an answer on how the fingerprint data is stored on the phones and is it safe regardless of device encryption?
The S5 implementation of the data was horrible and Samsung is not to concerned it seems. At least Apple clearly outlines how and where the data is stored.
Since short I have this new S6.I love the fingerprint authentication option.Every now and then though I get this message that an error has occurred in the fingerprint database. After this no fingerprints are recognized anymore and I'm forced to log in with the Backup password. After a reboot the issue seems gone, but then it returns after a while (period between seems to vary). I have four fingers entered in the database, that normally all four work correct.
I just made the switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy S6 yesterday and I couldn't be more excited, other than one problem. I have set up all four fingerprint options on the phone, and have set the screen lock type as fingerprints. When I lock the phone, however, the security option is just a swipe. I have already tried a soft reset and would prefer not to do a hard reset because I just finished uploading contacts and photos. I have even tried the other security options such as a pattern or a passcode and when I set those as my screen lock options its still just a swipe.
I have been using fingerprint unlock on my s6 with no problems since I got it. Starting today it forces me to swipe up first then I can unlock with my fingerprint.
my Samsung galaxy s6 was working on Friday morning around 6 AM then 2 hours later could not identify my fingerprint and was asking for a backup password.
A salesman in the store wanted me to try the Fingerprint Reader but I do not like it and want to go back to the swipe to unlock. How do you turn off the fingerprint reader? I am on Verizon if that makes a difference.
I do have a password but want to know how many tries I get with the fringerprint swipe before the galaxy s5 will not allow me another fringerprint swipe ?
I really like using the fingerprint scanner on my S5 with Lollipop to unlock the phone. But what I don't understand is that I have to swipe to unlock which activates the fingerprint scanner and then I have to scan. Why can't I just hit the home or power button and be taken directly to the fingerprint scanner?
I'm a returning Android user and I recently got the Galaxy s5 and I'm having a problem with the fingerprint scanner unlock for the lockscreen. I go to settings and then hit fingerprint unlock, it works fine until I try to unlock the phone, it doesn't prompt me to do the fingerprint swipe over the home button... It just lets me swipe the screen and get into the phone... It only works when I swipe the lock icon from the bottom of the screen, it doesn't do it automatically...
Recently I'm having some troubles with my touchscreen. I've had this problem a few times now, and it seems to act up more often now. Sometimes the screen doesn't register my finger. After I reboot, it works fine again. I believe it's always on the same place. Take a look at the screenshots that I've added.
Is this software related or hardware related? I'm in doubt if I should send it back for repair. I'm afraid that i'll lose my nillkin tempered glass screen protector ...
Need to confirm for corporate email account if the fingerprint can be use in the same manner as in the iPhone? or it gets grayed out and you have to use a password instead?
I first had vibration feedback when my fingerprint did not match for screen unlocking. But now I have realized that my phone no longer vibrates upon not matching my fingerprint to the records it's got. It only says "no match" on the bottom of screen, without any vibration.
Since I've played around with my phone settings I'm guessing it might be something I have accidentally disabled. So I went back to settings and browsed through everywhere that looked like relevant to my issue but did not succeed to find anything (tried enabling some features and checking the "no match". And my phone is NOT on battery saver mode).
My fingerprint scanner is not working. I did a factory reset and cleared cache. I also got my home button changed for a new one (i thought it was scratched). Bit the problem still persist with another home button. Button was originally replaced under warranty, so it should have fingerprint reader in it.
I went to my phone dialer and typed *#0*# -> sensors -> fingerprint and i got this: none
I have a Galaxy SM-G920A S6 fully stock that was on 5.0.2. I recently got a update OTA for it to 5.1.1. Of course this update failed to load for some reason. I then downloaded the stock update 5.1.1 unmodified firmware and flashed it via Odin. Worked perfect. Then I tried using it for my fingerprint and this error came up. I've tried rebooting of course. I tried resetting through recovery and wiping cache but it the error still pops up when I use anything related to the fingerprint reader.
Methods that I tried to use to Fix:I read on a past thread, that if you disable the fingerprint service in application manager and then reboot and then enable, it fixes the issue. I tried that and it was the same thing. I've been reading a few Xda threads and it seems like there is no real fix for this. This is the name of the file I installed: G920AUCU3BOI2_CL5527015_QB6363222_REV02_user_low_s hip
