I was not able to open password protected pdf attachment delivered via email to my E72 phone. When I try opening, it momentarily opens Adobe and then I see this message: "Unable to open password protected file". Is there no way to open such attachments in E72?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a way to create a password protected file that I can use on my iphone and ipad for sensitive information. I've tried the password protection on Pages for mac, but once the file is opened in Pages on IOS, there's no way to close it.So, now I think I have a solution by creating a pdf file and adding a password to it, using Preview on mac.
1. create a file using textedit, and Export to pdf.
2. open that pdf in Preview and Export to pdf, with a password.
3. add this encrypted file to the iTunes library.
4. sync the iphone / ipad
5. use iBooks on the IOS to open the file. It will ask for the password. To close, the file, quit the iBooks App.
It looks like this meets my needs. BTW, if you're using windows instead of the mac, you can install libreoffice and use it to create the password protected pdf, then just add it to iTunes and sync the iphone. So, my question is for those who know the inner workings of the mac and IOS, and is whether this is actually secure or is this file crackable?

I am using a C7 with the built in Acrobat reader LE 2.5. The application is unable to open any password protected PDFs. The acrobat reader LE 2.5 on E63 works fine.
Is there a limitation on the C7 application? Is there a workaround or any other app which will help me read pwd protected PDF?

It is saved as backup.arc and can be seen when in PC suite, but now I cannot delete this because it says it is 'write-protected'.......... The size is 175mb, which is alarming.I am unable do any 'slider thingy' because it is a micro sd card with no adapter. Seriously, it is very very plain!I do not want to reformat it because i do not want to lose any Ovi maps and frankly, E72 has a LOT of software problems, I do not want to risk it (i set up a ringtone which also caused the inability to ever change it.... unless I saved a song as something...transfered it elsewhere...save it again etc etc, point is I am aware how nasty it gets, so, no formatting advice unless you guarantee there'll be no errors!)

The second account (IMAP) worked fine until today, when clicking on the relevant "button" just makes it blink, without opening the account the mail. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently got the Nokia E-72 and after getting a new memory card just yesterday for it I am no longer able to open the Ovi Store application that was already installed on the phone. I also just installed the Ovi Suite on my computer and when it requests to install the "Support software" my phone just gives me the simple error of "Unable to install" with a red symbol next to the words. I also tried installing the Ovi Store from the web and I get the same Unable to Install error that I get when trying to install the Support Software. I already checked the "application manager" it is allows all applications to be installed. I've also tried reinstalling the software via the Ovi Suite and that doesn't do anything either. I looked up how to hard reset the phone as well, and I hold the correct buttons+the top power button at the same time while the phone is of f but it doesn't seem like it does anything when the phone comes back on. I wouldn't mind getting the phone to go back to square one as I haven't had the phone long enough to miss much besides my contacts which I can just synchronize.

I tried backing up the text messages on my computer. To my surprise, Nokia PC Suite (recently updated version: 7.1.180.46) doesn't even recognize any of these old text messages.
