I am facing problem with my cell phone C5.00 which does not gives New Message Alert even all settings are in order. I have got new messages in my inbox but it does not give any Message Alert Tone or popup display for having new message. How to sort it out.

However, the custom alerts for "Contact Alerts > Messages" don't. I'm supposed to get a sound plus a vibration for certain contacts when in "Phone Only" profile. This doesn't happen.

All the settings are correct and when I do trial run with sound I can hear it but when and actual call or text message comes in all I get is vibrate, I get no sound. What's up with that? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 and am having a couple of problems with it.Software Version 20.0.0.019. (There is an update to v2.1, but when I check for updates it says that no updates are available, so to double check I typed my code into the "check if my device is compatible with upgrade etc..." and it says that the current compatible version is 20.0.0.019.
Are some N97's compatible with the update and others not?The most annoying problem I have at the moment is that even when a WLAN network is available, setup and tested as being able to be used for surfing the web or for applications, there are some applications (Ovi Store is one of them), that refuse to use the WLAN and instead wants to use the much more expensive internet provided by GPRS I think..
So I tried deleting the GPRS connection (in destinations/internet) in an effort to stop the software for selecting that connection and hopefully defaulting or allowing me to select my wireless network, which were all set with a higher priority than the GPRS connection, even before I deleted it.
Imagine my amusement when it still wanted to use the GPRS connection, and somehow managed to, even though the connection is no longer setup on my N97.Does anyone know if there is a setting I am overlooking or something I am missing?

I used to be able to have different text alert sounds assigned on my old LG325, and just wondering if this phone has a similar feature.I find a lot of phones including my current Samsung Vice have only one ringtone for all text messages, which is annoying because I can't prioritize checking my incoming text messages, and have to look at every message to see if it's important.
Is there an app available that will let me turn all message alerts off at a certain time, then turn them back on automatically at a set time the next morning?

Whether it's with the home charger the phone came with or a car charger (from Verizon), the majority of the time, I do not hear the alert when a message comes in. This has happened to me with all of my Tours (on my 3rd replacement). I do not have any custom ring tones/alerts. All the alerts I use are the ones that come with the phone. I don't have any 3rd party apps which would affect the tones. Does anyone else experience or hear of this? If so is there a fix to this?

I copied a folder called media to my S6 when I first updated to 5.1.1 and I could select my ringtone and message alert tone from this folder, but yesterday it went back to default and now i can't select anything in the media folder, coincidentally my video folder i used to be able to see is now not showing in the video player but is there if i browse my files?? I have managed to set up several email accounts by simply going into the 'email" option in the "messaging" menu, but I can't set the phone to check for emails automatically or to notify me of new emails, etc, etc, in other words, I have no menu option, for adjusting the settings for emails. I am running the latest version of the software
version 10.60.
I used to have a Bold 9700. When I listened to music with headphones, incoming message alerts would sound over the music through the headphones. With the 9650, the song pauses, and then the message alert sound comes out of the speaker instead of the headphones, then the music resumes. Is there a setting I am missing here?

Lately there has been an issue with the lock screen not updating the time and some of the message alerts don't appear, until I unlock the phone. This is not the keyboard lock, but the lock that requires a password (corporate IT policy).Is there a way to fix this? The time is set to auto-update from the network. This started a few weeks ago and is very annoying. Sometimes it will update while locked if I activate the screen and let it sit for a minute but other times it won't at all while locked.Anyone else having this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?

A few weeks ago, I had an issue where i wasn't getting sms alerts. I put it down to a one off or me just missing them. However, I'ts happened again.My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..
i got a new 701 for 3 days now. im realy satisfied. i just came across a problemi do not have any new messages but still, the sign flashes ..i deleted all the messages, checked all missed calls, checked all emails, rebooted phone X times

1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?

It only works for default mail services, but if I want to setup other email accounts, I need some way to enter IMAP/POP servers, ports, etc. If I choose "Other" in mail client, I can only enter mail address and password. Then I see message that connection can not be established. I expect to have an ability to enter all mail setting myself, but can't find any way to do it. It is really desappointing.
