Cseries :: C3-00 Using GPRS Instead Of Wifi

I got a Nokia C3-00 for Christmas and love the fact that I can use the wifi at home to acess the internet. When I use the mail function it asks me what connection I want to use, either the GPRS or the Wifi and both work. The same happens when I use the communities button and facebook & Snaptu app. However when I use the opera mini browser it just automatically connects to GPRS. I am only on pay as you go so when I can I want to use wifi and just use the GPRS when I really have to.
I have tried all the fixes and the one that seems to work is the one suggested by Charlie222. This fix makes everything which needs an internet connection ask you which connection you'd like to use and if you select wifi then it works. However if you want to use the GPRS then the settings will not work. This means that I have had to go back through and undo everything Charlie said to do which means again when I use opera mini it just defaults to GPRS.
I know it may seem greedy but I want both GPRS and Wifi to work so as I said I can use wifi at home then GPRS when out and about (mainly when I am bored at work!).
I have updated to the very latest version of software for the phone but still nothing seems to solve the problem and all I want is the phone to work how it should.

I want to use whatsapp on my nokia C3-00 and use it only through the wifi. I have tried creating new access point but every time I connect it uses gprs although packet data connection is selected to 'when connected'. I have deleted the access points through personnel settings but still some access points are available through packet data. Is it because of that gprs is activated? If yes, how can I delete them?

I noticed that GPRS gets activated on its own. Packet data connectivity is set to "when needed" and network connectivity of all applications are set to "ask every time". I can't find a way to turn off the GPRS connection. Even if I turn off the phone-- remove the battery and SIM card as advised by Nokia help line-- the GPRS still activates a few seconds after the phone is turned back on.

I can connect with Wi-Fi by using Opera(original one), Chat, Games, i.e. all. It is all OK.
Also I can connect with my GPRS by using Opera(still original one), Twitter and Facebook app(its own app), Mail app(its own app, connecting GMail and Hotmail, and able to connect their chat facilities like GTalk and MSN).
However; I cannot connect OVI Store by GPRS, any application stored in Games.
I'm using GPRS heavily in order to use Wi-Fi so I cannot use some critical Apps like accounting or such whivh need connection.

I keep getting symbols E (EDGE?) and G (GPRS?) on the top of my screen in my c3-00, but I have never connected to the Internet with the phone yet. Do those symbols mean that such a network is available or is the phone is connected to the Internet? I'd just like to be sure with it.

My c7-00 not connecting through edge/gprs network of tata docomo network,but that of reliance,airtel is working.it is not showing even E sign when packet data connection is "when available" mode. other ones are showing it.

I like the way browser asks what connection to use every time it's opened... Can I make Mail, Chat and Communities apps to do the same thing, giving me to choose wifi and not turning EDGE on automatically?

I have a problem with my GPRS, the GPRS symbol (G) is no longer appearing in my home screen, but i have a load. I'm using it so that i can use my fb, i always turn off-on my cp but still it didn't appear. It's only now that it didn't appear, i didn't change any settings about my GPRS.

i would loke to knoe where i can enable and disable th gprs/edge data transfer. i.e. I am using limitted internet acess with 50 hrs inter net usage. I've got a set up gprs profile in my c3-00 but sometimes i'd like to use wifi instead.What type of connection does phone use when i have an established wifi connection and how can i force it to use wifi when available?Browsers - neither opera, nor ovi don' ask me what type of connection to use, they just connect to internet. I didn't choose "don't ask" for browser but did for 3d party soft.

I have bought Blackberry bold 9900. I can use GPRS to sync the mail, calendar, browse internet and so on, but this is a little bit expensive and I have wifi at home so I want to use it instead of GPRSHow can I disable GPRS (so that I'm sure that the phone doesn't sync or use internet through it) and enable wifi so that the phone only can use this to avoid huge bill for cell phone? I understand, that I can't use BBM and some few other apps with wifi, but let say I want to check only my gmail account, browse internet at home on WIFI, send/receive sms and answer calls. If I disable "data services" in "mobile network" wifi stays connected, but I can't browse.

I've bought 8520 and doesn't have a GPRS plan from service provider. Hence used Wifi to access internet and worked awesome. Later i've got a data plan from operator and started using internet disabling Wifi. When i was back to home and started using Wifi disabling the Data Service from service provider, I couldn't access internet through Wifi.

Im using Vodafone 3G in India. My iphone 4S is able to download mails perfectly fine from my gmail and corporate email using home wi-fi.
On connecting to vodafone 2G or 3G the mails do not work. It keeps trying to connect and nothing happens after that. Regular internet browsing works fine in 2G and 3G and wi-fi. I can see that the browsing is faster in 3G compared to grps.
I have tried to reset network settings in iPhone, removed and insetred SIM. I also upgraded to IOS 5.1.1, no luck

When I run Internet Radio, I can only select Wi-Fi access points, no 3G or GPRS (in my case: Vodafone Live!). Other apps do show all access points.This is a pitty as the application is rather nice.The app does show settings for the GPRS, 3G and Wi-Fi bitrates, so obviously it does support these connections.I've deleted and re-installed, to no avail.

My E72 cannot connect to WIFI or GPRS after I got a firmware update. Whenever I try to connect, I get error messages like "Connection not available" or "Web: Unable to perform operation". My software version is 054.005 for RM-530.

I have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.

I have today bought the C7 and have been setting it up (which has taken me ages) I am trying to turn off wifi but when I turn it off within 5 seconds it switches itself back on again, how do I turn it off and use it manually, I have looked everywhere but just can't find the right setting Grrr

I don't pay my service provider T-Mobile for internet acess on my phone, because I don't use Internet much and this phone already got Wi-Fi. So sometimes the phone's Wi-Fi worked just fine. But also sometimes it takes like 30 seconds (which only takes about 10 seconds when it worked) to load and then it said "Service not available". I had tried to use Wi-Fi with the phone closer to my modem with the Wi-Fi signal really strong, disconnected and reconnected, and turn the phone off and on again, but the problem sometimes happen, not always. So is this because of the phone's Wi-Fi receiver is bad, or something else?

Newbie to nokia c6, my wifes phone. How do I disable the phone network when browsing and use only the wifi option. I have a htc wildfire and it is so easy to enable/disable the phone network and use wifi only. I dont want to use up my data limit when wifi is available.

Normally WiFi is free to use I think. On Internet it is said that using the C3-00 for WiFi activities you will be charged anyway by your provider.

Before the unpdate, the phone had no problems connecting to my WLAN. After an upgrade with Belle, it is impossible to get WiFi to work : Although the roaming finds my WLAN, and after introducing the exact WEP key, I allways get a WiFi not found error. I allready tried all the tricks mentionned in different posts over here, without succes.
