BB Curve :: Hard Reset To Access 3rd Party Apps Via Gprs?
Jun 28, 2012My BB9300 curve runs with OS5, and I'musing airtel India carrier. I don't have BIS plan,I'm using normal gprs plan to run third partyapps like opera and whatsapp.These apps works well with gprs, but theproblem is, it suddenly stops working sayingthat no internet connection is available. Then tofix this I've 2 do a battery pull(hard reset) everytime.I've also upgraded to OS6, but the above problem still remains. In my observation this problem is maximum whenever I'm travelling and where the network connection will disconnect and reconnect frequently.

I have downloaded gprs settings from my operator and i can browse internet from nokia mobile browser but when i am using opera mini to connect to internet it is not and saying connection error. I use third party applications like fring, mobile banking application they too can't connect to internet.

Aug 9, 2010I noticed that GPRS gets activated on its own. Packet data connectivity is set to "when needed" and network connectivity of all applications are set to "ask every time". I can't find a way to turn off the GPRS connection. Even if I turn off the phone-- remove the battery and SIM card as advised by Nokia help line-- the GPRS still activates a few seconds after the phone is turned back on.

Nov 28, 2011I can connect with Wi-Fi by using Opera(original one), Chat, Games, i.e. all. It is all OK.
Also I can connect with my GPRS by using Opera(still original one), Twitter and Facebook app(its own app), Mail app(its own app, connecting GMail and Hotmail, and able to connect their chat facilities like GTalk and MSN).
However; I cannot connect OVI Store by GPRS, any application stored in Games.
I'm using GPRS heavily in order to use Wi-Fi so I cannot use some critical Apps like accounting or such whivh need connection.
Cseries :: C3-00 Using GPRS Instead Of Wifi
Dec 30, 2010I got a Nokia C3-00 for Christmas and love the fact that I can use the wifi at home to acess the internet. When I use the mail function it asks me what connection I want to use, either the GPRS or the Wifi and both work. The same happens when I use the communities button and facebook & Snaptu app. However when I use the opera mini browser it just automatically connects to GPRS. I am only on pay as you go so when I can I want to use wifi and just use the GPRS when I really have to.
I have tried all the fixes and the one that seems to work is the one suggested by Charlie222. This fix makes everything which needs an internet connection ask you which connection you'd like to use and if you select wifi then it works. However if you want to use the GPRS then the settings will not work. This means that I have had to go back through and undo everything Charlie said to do which means again when I use opera mini it just defaults to GPRS.
I know it may seem greedy but I want both GPRS and Wifi to work so as I said I can use wifi at home then GPRS when out and about (mainly when I am bored at work!).
I have updated to the very latest version of software for the phone but still nothing seems to solve the problem and all I want is the phone to work how it should.

Jul 10, 2012I just got my new phone c5 00 (5mp) recently and i discovered some serious problems with it. The biggest problem is that i cant install any software for my phone, like .sis and .sisx files. I know about the certificate process which is also a problem but my phone cant even get to that. Everytime i try to install an app, opera mini 7 for example, straight from m.opera.com, it just pops up "File corrupted" error And nokia suite, nokia pc suite,... cant sync with my phone, it wont accept any software install from nokia suite ( "file corrupted" ). This really **bleep** me off Java do just fine, but what's the point of having a s60v3 that can only run java apps?

Feb 6, 2010I have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
