I like the way browser asks what connection to use every time it's opened... Can I make Mail, Chat and Communities apps to do the same thing, giving me to choose wifi and not turning EDGE on automatically?
View 1 RepliesI have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
I keep getting symbols E (EDGE?) and G (GPRS?) on the top of my screen in my c3-00, but I have never connected to the Internet with the phone yet. Do those symbols mean that such a network is available or is the phone is connected to the Internet? I'd just like to be sure with it.

Q: How do I track down the cell data offenders? Is there an app that will show cell data usage details for IOS or for MAC?

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Curve 8520 (v5.0.0.681) on O2-UK has switched to GSM since last Friday (16th).Initially it happened to my girlfriend's Curve 8520, then mine and now it has happened to her sisters Curve 9300.
It has not happened to my girlfriend's parents Curve 9300. I also work 50 miles from home and it's not working so it's not a single tower issue. I have tried pulling the battery, reinstalling the software and a security wipe.
I contacted my carrier (O2-UK) who state that it's not a problem with their network and that they have had a lot of reports of the same issue in this past week, they're saying it's a Blackberry issue.
In the past month or so my sisters blackberry curve 9300 changed from being at GPRS/EDGE to GSM and she cannot get access to the internet at all, so she has no facebook, bbm, email or browser etc. and this is even when she is connected to our wifi at home. We have tried rebooting it several times by taking out the battery and also the sim card but this has not helped. We took the phone back to the O2 shop where it was purchased and they gave her a new sim card and when this didnt work she went back again and the said that because she was roaming the bolt ons was cancelled and they set that up again. However the phone is still on GSM and so this hasnt helped. When I was looking thorugh the phone trying to see if there was anything I could do to change it back to GPRS I noticed that in the service status it says that blackberry internet service is not connected.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that GPRS gets activated on its own. Packet data connectivity is set to "when needed" and network connectivity of all applications are set to "ask every time". I can't find a way to turn off the GPRS connection. Even if I turn off the phone-- remove the battery and SIM card as advised by Nokia help line-- the GPRS still activates a few seconds after the phone is turned back on.

Also I can connect with my GPRS by using Opera(still original one), Twitter and Facebook app(its own app), Mail app(its own app, connecting GMail and Hotmail, and able to connect their chat facilities like GTalk and MSN).
However; I cannot connect OVI Store by GPRS, any application stored in Games.
I'm using GPRS heavily in order to use Wi-Fi so I cannot use some critical Apps like accounting or such whivh need connection.
I got a Nokia C3-00 for Christmas and love the fact that I can use the wifi at home to acess the internet. When I use the mail function it asks me what connection I want to use, either the GPRS or the Wifi and both work. The same happens when I use the communities button and facebook & Snaptu app. However when I use the opera mini browser it just automatically connects to GPRS. I am only on pay as you go so when I can I want to use wifi and just use the GPRS when I really have to.
I have tried all the fixes and the one that seems to work is the one suggested by Charlie222. This fix makes everything which needs an internet connection ask you which connection you'd like to use and if you select wifi then it works. However if you want to use the GPRS then the settings will not work. This means that I have had to go back through and undo everything Charlie said to do which means again when I use opera mini it just defaults to GPRS.
I know it may seem greedy but I want both GPRS and Wifi to work so as I said I can use wifi at home then GPRS when out and about (mainly when I am bored at work!).
I have updated to the very latest version of software for the phone but still nothing seems to solve the problem and all I want is the phone to work how it should.
i brought a new nokia c6 and since day 1 i hav been trying to configure internet but all in vain..I have an mtnl 3g connection,and despite many attempts i cant configure mobile internet or mms in my phone.

I have seen pictures of the whole halo lighting up blue when charging and green when fully charged. I have a official samsung charger and fast charging adapter and just bought the Samsung official wireless Charging pad. I have had a problem with it charging, it charges consistently but takes a very long time to charge (more then it is supposed to) ex: it says it will take 2 hrs and 24 mins to full charge and ends up taking 4 hours to charge! My charging cable has been acting up lately and was wondering If that was the problem? I have been charging without case on.

When I used to print I think there was a samsung print server and a google print server. I think the google one is what worked.
However on the s6 there is only a samsung one. I did download the hp print app from the play store. When I go to print something it shows my printer however nothing comes out or of it is supposed to I cancel it after five minutes. The printer is on line and does work with a lap top.
