Newbie to nokia c6, my wifes phone. How do I disable the phone network when browsing and use only the wifi option. I have a htc wildfire and it is so easy to enable/disable the phone network and use wifi only. I dont want to use up my data limit when wifi is available.

The internet works for everything else, i can normaly surf on the internet, just no whats app. When i installed it with my mobil internet i got the message, right after entering my phonenumber, to check the acces point. I couldn't install whats app with my mobil internet. When i installed it with te use of Wifi there where no problems.

My cell start automatic wifi searching, while i have disabled all posible option to search wifi automatically like (Show WLAN availibility = Never, Internet Connectivity test= Never Run). Beside these setting, i also delete all wifi Network destinitions. but still i found after every 2- 5 mins device prompts for available wifi connection. I dont was such prompt.

I have today bought the C7 and have been setting it up (which has taken me ages) I am trying to turn off wifi but when I turn it off within 5 seconds it switches itself back on again, how do I turn it off and use it manually, I have looked everywhere but just can't find the right setting Grrr
View 15 Replies View RelatedI got a Nokia C3-00 for Christmas and love the fact that I can use the wifi at home to acess the internet. When I use the mail function it asks me what connection I want to use, either the GPRS or the Wifi and both work. The same happens when I use the communities button and facebook & Snaptu app. However when I use the opera mini browser it just automatically connects to GPRS. I am only on pay as you go so when I can I want to use wifi and just use the GPRS when I really have to.
I have tried all the fixes and the one that seems to work is the one suggested by Charlie222. This fix makes everything which needs an internet connection ask you which connection you'd like to use and if you select wifi then it works. However if you want to use the GPRS then the settings will not work. This means that I have had to go back through and undo everything Charlie said to do which means again when I use opera mini it just defaults to GPRS.
I know it may seem greedy but I want both GPRS and Wifi to work so as I said I can use wifi at home then GPRS when out and about (mainly when I am bored at work!).
I have updated to the very latest version of software for the phone but still nothing seems to solve the problem and all I want is the phone to work how it should.
I don't pay my service provider T-Mobile for internet acess on my phone, because I don't use Internet much and this phone already got Wi-Fi. So sometimes the phone's Wi-Fi worked just fine. But also sometimes it takes like 30 seconds (which only takes about 10 seconds when it worked) to load and then it said "Service not available". I had tried to use Wi-Fi with the phone closer to my modem with the Wi-Fi signal really strong, disconnected and reconnected, and turn the phone off and on again, but the problem sometimes happen, not always. So is this because of the phone's Wi-Fi receiver is bad, or something else?

After an upgrade with Belle, it is impossible to get WiFi to work : Although the roaming finds my WLAN, and after introducing the exact WEP key, I allways get a WiFi not found error. I allready tried all the tricks mentionned in different posts over here, without succes.

That was untill 3 months ago when I started getting charged for accessing FREE WIFI in the UK and in Europe, I have had the phone reset by Nokia and by a Nokia shop without any luck, It is set to always ask when it conects to the internet but it never asks!Should I bin the phone and get a new one or will Nokia sort the problem?I am on V 07.20 but when I try to download the newer version it tells me I have the correct version?

When i go to the browser to load a page it shows "Loading" for sometime and then it says "Cannot connect".how i should i configure my phone to get the WiFi running. View 19 Replies View Relatedthere seem to be a bug that I dont seem to be able to find out how to fix, the problem is that i dont want the phone to connect to a wifi network everytime it recognizes one, basically i have few prefered wifis that i use, but i do not want the phone to connect to them automatically. what i already tried is disabled wifi scanning, filtered out those networks that i dont want it to connect to automatically - still no luck. What i wouldnt like to do is delete the networks to enter the password everytime i want to connect...isnt there an easier way around, at least for the phione to ask before connecting to the wifi...

The update cannot be performed using WIFI.The phone displays the confirmation message: "You are about to connect to the internet. ..." is there any way to check my email on a C3-01 only using wifi connection? ( I never connect to internet by network due to crazy costs!) When I try to check I get a message saying "communication error, please try later" I know there is no communication problem 'cos I can go to web pages etc ( while on WiFi)

I have tried creating new access point but every time I connect it uses gprs although packet data connection is selected to 'when connected'. I have deleted the access points through personnel settings but still some access points are available through packet data. Is it because of that gprs is activated? If yes, how can I delete them?

After update all messages are erased and she had important information there. I installed Ovi Suite on Mac and downloaded extra support for C7, but I couldn't restore that information. She never installed Ovi Suite on her PC. My question is: is she installs Ovi Suite for PC on her laptop, will she be able to restore old messages? I recently switched to Belle as well on my Nokia N8, but I'm not that crazy about old messages, so I haven't noticed it. I checked on my phone using Files disk C, but there wasn't any folders with my username.

Now after the update the Nokia Mail does not open anymore. When I push the Mail-button on my C3-00 it shows "opening mail" and then NOKIA "Loading Mail", the white screen with the yellow envelope. But then nothing happens anymore. The screen stays this way FOREVER. It does not freeze, I can exit the application YES/or NO.
In my nokia c6 nokia chat is not working . It will ask chek IM update. I give ok then it searched and then it shows "not avilable and chek after some time".
