Cseries :: C3-00 Charged For 'FREE WIFI'

I have had my C3-00 since last November, and it has been fine, I have used it to access FREE WIFI in other European countries as well as the UK without being charged . That was untill 3 months ago when I started getting charged for accessing FREE WIFI in the UK and in Europe, I have had the phone reset by Nokia and by a Nokia shop without any luck, It is set to always ask when it conects to the internet but it never asks!Should I bin the phone and get a new one or will Nokia sort the problem?I am on V 07.20 but when I try to download the newer version it tells me I have the correct version?

The so called free Map with the version mentioned in the Subject and for the software version of my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music gets charged when I use it. It is not free turn-by-turn for me. I need to know why. Each time I use the map, I'm being charged, and if there is no credit, I cannot use the map. Kindly let me know why is it not free. I use Bahrain's Batelco network.

Just discovered that my C5 cannot be charged using USB wall chargers. Tried apple,philips, belkin chargers- none of them work with C5. When plugged in, there is no notification or beep but a mild shock can be felt at the back cover! Strangely, it works fine with computer USB ports.

ihave an active wifi connection and can browse when my data services are on. if i do so when using some app like facebook i have being charged for using data like 10ps evry interval. my default browser is set to hotspot.. i have no apn. my os is 5 and my carrier is airtel india.

I've installed a new theme (around 2MB after installation) to my Nokia C6-01 from the OVI store (to phone memory) and later uninstalled it from the app manager through phone, but when I go look at the memory, it says that my phone memory is still 2mb occupied. I haven't installed any other app to the phone..Is there any other place that I need to delete the installation files?

I've just updated my C1-02 to software V06.15. Alas, the max volume for handsfree calls via Bluetooth is still far too low. It's unusable in a moving car. This problem already existed half a year ago in the previous two software versions. Also, the address book isn't transferred correctly.
I use a TomTom Via 125 nav for handsfree calls, but Parrot users have reported the same problems with the C1-02.

I am using Nexus5 (Android 5.1). Actually, my network provider has charged me for cellular data usage which I never did. In-fact, I haven't subscribed to any data pack and was charged heavily. I always use internet through WiFi.
My data usage widget is displaying 0B data usage, but my network operator is insisting that the data has been used by the device.
I want to understand if this issue is really due to my device.I see different cellular network icons on my device :-
- Exclamation mark in cellular network when WiFi is disabled (I never enable cellular data)
- R sign in cellular network (cellular data is disabled and i am not in roaming)
- No R or exclamation sign (both WiFi and cellular usage is disabled)
I am not able to understand,Is my cellular data usage is really due to my device settings or is due to some issue by service provider.
Is it that the device is indeed using cellular data despite of the fact that cellular data option is disabled and it never shows this usage in data usage widget.
I observed that when I use Wi-Fi, then exclamation sign from cellular network is removed, does that mean that the cellular data is also used and that's why my service provider has charged me?

for some reason, my iTunes says it is 98% charged but my iPhone says it is fully charged at 100%... So I am not sure which to believe nor why this is happening? Does it have anything to do with the calibration of my phone's battery? Do I trust my phone's depiction or iTunes'?Â

I'm having a problem connecting to free wifi spots, eg McDonalds etc.My X6 can see there is a wifi network but when I try to connect it asks for the pre-shared key. As far as I know the free wifi (McD) doesn't have a key?Is there a setting I need to enable first?FWIW I can connect to my home/work protected wifi networks fine.

I want to control my computer(it just has to use the mouse and keyboard doesn't have to show me the computer screen on my blackberry) with my 8330, is there any FREE applications that do this either with Wi-Fi or Internet? I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop, also if it has USB support that would be nice too(it might eat the battery less

I have today bought the C7 and have been setting it up (which has taken me ages) I am trying to turn off wifi but when I turn it off within 5 seconds it switches itself back on again, how do I turn it off and use it manually, I have looked everywhere but just can't find the right setting Grrr

I got a Nokia C3-00 for Christmas and love the fact that I can use the wifi at home to acess the internet. When I use the mail function it asks me what connection I want to use, either the GPRS or the Wifi and both work. The same happens when I use the communities button and facebook & Snaptu app. However when I use the opera mini browser it just automatically connects to GPRS. I am only on pay as you go so when I can I want to use wifi and just use the GPRS when I really have to.
I have tried all the fixes and the one that seems to work is the one suggested by Charlie222. This fix makes everything which needs an internet connection ask you which connection you'd like to use and if you select wifi then it works. However if you want to use the GPRS then the settings will not work. This means that I have had to go back through and undo everything Charlie said to do which means again when I use opera mini it just defaults to GPRS.
I know it may seem greedy but I want both GPRS and Wifi to work so as I said I can use wifi at home then GPRS when out and about (mainly when I am bored at work!).
I have updated to the very latest version of software for the phone but still nothing seems to solve the problem and all I want is the phone to work how it should.

I don't pay my service provider T-Mobile for internet acess on my phone, because I don't use Internet much and this phone already got Wi-Fi. So sometimes the phone's Wi-Fi worked just fine. But also sometimes it takes like 30 seconds (which only takes about 10 seconds when it worked) to load and then it said "Service not available". I had tried to use Wi-Fi with the phone closer to my modem with the Wi-Fi signal really strong, disconnected and reconnected, and turn the phone off and on again, but the problem sometimes happen, not always. So is this because of the phone's Wi-Fi receiver is bad, or something else?

Newbie to nokia c6, my wifes phone. How do I disable the phone network when browsing and use only the wifi option. I have a htc wildfire and it is so easy to enable/disable the phone network and use wifi only. I dont want to use up my data limit when wifi is available.

Normally WiFi is free to use I think. On Internet it is said that using the C3-00 for WiFi activities you will be charged anyway by your provider.

Before the unpdate, the phone had no problems connecting to my WLAN. After an upgrade with Belle, it is impossible to get WiFi to work : Although the roaming finds my WLAN, and after introducing the exact WEP key, I allways get a WiFi not found error. I allready tried all the tricks mentionned in different posts over here, without succes.

I recently got C3-00. The reason for buying this was the WiFi. I tried to detect the WiFi that i have at home and I was successful in doing that. When i go to the browser to load a page it shows "Loading" for sometime and then it says "Cannot connect".how i should i configure my phone to get the WiFi running. On my previous phone i had requested a GPRS acvtivation through my service provider as well.

Haveing seen the explosion of threds about the iphone signal problem I cant help notice the amount of people willing to apcept a free bumper! are people out there heads?
Its a flaw at the end of the day and if apple admit to it will people find it that hard to give up there phone and apcept a free bumper? do we get free screws with the next purchase?
Does anyone have a nokia phone from years back with expess on covers? think the its the 3210 i had I lost the back and if you caught the little metal strip antenna with your hand it killed the signal and droped the call!
Is this whats happening here? It seems the more I read the threds this could be happening with the iphone 4!?

there seem to be a bug that I dont seem to be able to find out how to fix, the problem is that i dont want the phone to connect to a wifi network everytime it recognizes one, basically i have few prefered wifis that i use, but i do not want the phone to connect to them automatically. what i already tried is disabled wifi scanning, filtered out those networks that i dont want it to connect to automatically - still no luck. What i wouldnt like to do is delete the networks to enter the password everytime i want to connect...isnt there an easier way around, at least for the phione to ask before connecting to the wifi...

I'm getting this weird problem of invalid server name each time i try and connect my c5-03 to a wifi connection..at home i'm using connectify software ...i've set it on an Ad hoc mode but everytime i try starting the browsing it says invalid server name.

Whats app works only on wifi. When i go outside it doesn't work on my mobil internet. The internet works for everything else, i can normaly surf on the internet, just no whats app. When i installed it with my mobil internet i got the message, right after entering my phonenumber, to check the acces point. I couldn't install whats app with my mobil internet. When i installed it with te use of Wifi there where no problems.
