I'm having a problem connecting to free wifi spots, eg McDonalds etc.My X6 can see there is a wifi network but when I try to connect it asks for the pre-shared key. As far as I know the free wifi (McD) doesn't have a key?Is there a setting I need to enable first?FWIW I can connect to my home/work protected wifi networks fine.
i had a x6 for a couple of months now and noticed a couple of months back that it would restart itself when i tried connecting to wifi, now it still does the same problem and it switches off randomly. its been happeneing a lot now. just randomly restarts of at anytime
I bought a brand new X6 16gb about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine at the start. But now I can not get a wifi connection at all. It doesn't detect any WLAN. All my other devices are working fine and can connect to my wirless network OK. I've tried all the settings and it just doesn't work. It's getting very annoying. Any ideas what the problem is?
I haven't loaded much on the phone since i got it. As i mentioned, it was working fine at first. Then it got really slow and then after a couple of days it would only detect the wireless network sometimes (it would connect but i still wouldn't be able to browse) and now not at all.
Why does my LG G4 constantly try to access unknown wifi spots even though I don't see anything in settings to enable or disable this? Just started doing this a week ago.
I have scoured the forums here and practically everywhere possible on the net with out any luck at finding an answer for almost a month. I am currently on Prepaid cards through Fido. I bought a BB Curve about a month ago because I was told it had built in WiFi.I have no problems connecting it to my home wireless network. Weather I have it secured or unsecured. I have no problems connecting to any open or secured wireless network. Where I do have a problem is when I go to places like Starbucks where it has a log-in Screen. Then I am unable to connect at all.I scan for networks, it finds the network. I select the network. It then says it's connected. Then I go to try and go onto the internet and it just gives me a blank white screen. As of right now I am finding that my BlackBerry is just a useless paperweight since mainly I got it to use at Starbucks since that is where I am a lot of the time.
I have tried going to bell.ca and seeing if I could access it that way (as I read somewhere to try this), still no luck. My question is, why would I be told that it has built in wifi if it only works on certain networks? Is it able to be used on networks that have a login screen or is it not able to? And is there something I am doing wrong? It is showing the bell hotspot name when it says connected. And I made sure I have it set as wifi mode. I have had other devices (Palm Pilot) that have had no problems connecting. What is the point of built in wifi if it won't work on ALL wifi networks?Ultimately what I want to know, is how to get my BlackBerry to bring up the login pages of these "hot spots"? Weather at Starbucks, Libraries, other coffee shops etc.?
I have nokia X7 at first I have no problem connecting to wifi. I am thinking of buying a pebble watch,i'd like to know if it will be possible to have the watch and my handsfree in the car connected both simultaneously via Bluetooth?
I want to control my computer(it just has to use the mouse and keyboard doesn't have to show me the computer screen on my blackberry) with my 8330, is there any FREE applications that do this either with Wi-Fi or Internet? I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop, also if it has USB support that would be nice too(it might eat the battery less
Does anyone know of a BB app that can be used to make free calls over my home wifi network? I thought the Google Voice/Google Talk apps would accomplish this but that does not seem to work.
I'm trying to connect my phone (X3) with my home WLAN but it is always unsuccessful. The message that appears is always "security incorrect" even though I am very sure that the password I keyed in is the same as the password I have for my home WLAN.There is no problems with my home WLAN because I can use my laptop to access it and I'm currently using it. So, it there a problem with my phone? Can it be fixed?
i bought Nokia X2-00 last week...unfortunately, the phone can not connect to internet. i've contacted my service provider..they gave me the setting for internet connection..they also advised me to switch off the phone, remove the battery and sim card..but then i still could not connect to internet. i also checked the software using nokia Ovi Suite..since the phone is using the latest software,i reinstalled the software..but then, whenever i tried to connect to internet...these messages would appear 'Link not available' or 'no network connection.unable to download'..
i have a nokia x7 and i don't know how to connect to the wlan and the internet ?i just can't find anything related to wlanin the connectivity folder there is Bluetooth file but nothing about wlan
For a few weeks now I haven't been able to access my OVI account on my X6 - I think it coincided with a phone update [but can't be certain].I can access my account no problem via my computer at home but not by my Phone. I keep getting the message 'Unable to Connect to Server', this is the same through both WLAN and Internet Access. Is there any way I can reset my handset prefs or is there something fundamentally wrong?
This is getting really anoying. From time to time, any of the apps I use (from the official Internet browser, to Foursqure, Opera Mini, Gmail, or any other that need Internet access for that matter) don't even give me the dialogue to chose an Internet connection. I just get a message: Unable to connect to Internet.
I'm pretty sure all my settings are ok, especially because this happens sometimes (from never per day to always per day/session) and there are no rules when it starts working again. Sometimes it needs a few phone restarts, sometimes it just need some time.
So basically, the applications don't try to evoke Internet access. Even if I already have a constant Wi-Fi connection, they still don't see it "or even try to do so by asking".
I am facing a problem in Nokia X6 8GB. When I connect my phone to PC, usually there comes a list of 4 options(Ovi suite, Mass Storage, Image Transfer, Media Transfer). And i could connect phone to PC in all modes. But now, when I connect my phone to PC in mass storage mode, it automatically switches to ovi suite! I can't connect it in mass storage mode . But I can access mass storage when I connect my phone in Ovi suite mode. And I can copy files to and from mass storage. But I can't connect in mass storage mode. What might be the reason. Pls say ur valuable opinions and answers...(I have already did formating many times(both mass storage and phone). But still the problem exists)
