View 5 RepliesI bought my gf a BOLD 9700. I live in Singapore and bought an officially unlocked BB. I ust bought the model only, not with a contract from any carrier.My gf uses her simcard but doesnt have a data plan. We dont intend to use the email functions.But we do want to have WIFI on my home network. Been already busy for a few days and have seen several sites and seems that a lot of people have problems with this issue.Inside my router I see there is an IP adress assiged to the blackberry and I see the mac adress of the BB. But the blackberry keeps saying Failed to obtain an IP adress.Other laptops and my IPhone connect instantly to this router.And how to contact the blackberry technical support? Or can I return the phone under warranty?Im not so familiar with blackberry's.I also tried it with my own simcard which does have a data plan with it. But the same problem exists.Already reset the router a thousand times and removed battery from the BB a dozen times..on the BB screen I also see the WiFi is connected to my home network router but the wifi logo doesnt light up.

After updating some apps, I was told to reboot my phone. I did this and realised it had been stuck on the same part of the "loading bar" for quite a while. I thought this was just a glich and took the battery out to try again and once again it got stuck on the SAME part of the bar.

My N9 got bricked when I tried to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 a few days back, and when I tried to using the contact page at nokia.com/no-no/support/contact-us/ I got errors saying I had not filled in the message and version number fields, although I had done so.
I tried on 3 PCs, 2 with Windows and one with Kubuntu, tried using Firefox and Opera on all of them, with varying installs of Flash and all that (including the latest) if that should matter at all...
My N9 issue is resolved now thanks to some un-bricking guides and software... so altough it still does freeze and reboot quite often (not as often as with older firmware though) it's finally usable again, but I'd just thought I let you know about my contact issues in case anyone else have the same experience.
I hit the hide button for my SMS icon from off of my home screen by accidents. When I pressed the the unhide button it still did not show up on the home screen. My question is how do I put the icon back onto the homescreen?

So we decided to delete each other and add each other again. That did not work because whenever I send her invites, she never gets them . View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.
My phone is in warranty and mute button rubber is peeling of from blackberry curve 8520 Let me know can i replace it from service centre as it is in warranty if not then is rubber cover available outside?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Outlook 2010 for quite a while and then switched to Outlook 2011 with my former employer. The switch went very smooth and even on my BlackBerry I did not notice any difference. All contact pictures remained on the device and even when I added new ones it was synchronized to the device perfectly independently of the image size. Now I've changed jobs and with my new employer I've re-imported my contacts into Outlook 2011 again. From an Outlook 2011 perspective everything looks great, all pictures are there however they are not on my BlackBerry. Every new contact or every removed one will synchronize perfectly to my BlackBerry - only the contact pictures won't. I've tried inserting new ones, I've played around with image sizes as I've read something about certain limitations, I've spoken to the BES admin and he confirmed this feature has not been turned off on the BES.
