I just downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software for my Mac and Clicked on Backup, and Sync, and restore, and all my contacts got deleted! How can I get them back!

When it freezes I get a black squared clock at the centre of my screen. I then decided to whip out everything on my phone thinking if I did that everything will be back to normal.
