I have a BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone and using the Blackberry desktop software version 4.2 to sync contacts And outlook emails. But I realized that new contacts added to my blackberry are being deleted automatically.

I can no longer add a contact on my phone and expect it to be added to my Address Book automatically after the next sync, and the whole 'Groups' thing confuses the crap out of me. I have my Yahoo account linked, but now I don't actually want anything to do with Yahoo (or Google) when it comes to my contacts: all I want is contacts on my phone and on my Mac, nothing else. I'll get iCloud up and running once I upgrade to Mountain Lion, but not bef?

Recently, I upgraded my old os to v4.6.0.304 however though, I lost all my birthday reminders on all my contact list. The birthdays are there in the contacts but is not automatically updated to my calender. Same with my facebook. Before I updated my os, all my contacts + facebook birthday would show but not it doesn't. Isn't blackberry suppose to transfer birthdays automatically to my calender?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy emails over 30 days are being deleted automaticallyFor my personal Gmail account on my BB, under Options, Message display and Actions, Days to Keep Messages, it's set to "forever".However my emails are only kept for 30 days, anything older would get deleted. I've tried changing the "forever" option down to 180, and 90 days, restart the phone, and change it back to "forever", however emails over 30 days are still being deleted.Does anyone else have this problem?I have 2 email accounts synced, the gmail one, and another university email (which oddly enough, does not have this issue)Btw I'm on a 9900 in Vodafone UKII was on 7.1.342 and eventually updated to .391 and the issue is still here

The ones automatically deleted are not even old text messages, they are just 4 days old. The names are also in color green. I hate deleting important text messages. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the calendar on my Curve 9360 to get items from, and put items to my calendar. My email/calendar is on a Microsoft exchange server, and I have it set up on my Blackberry Playbook (activesync) and sending/receiving emails or making/deleting calendar entries is seemless and instantaneous. The Curve on the other hand does not make it so easy.
I get/send emails no problem. The calendar on the curve does not update with new items posted elsewhere nor do new calendar entries made on the Curve get posted to the server. I do not have the same email account options on the curve 9360 as the playbook. I have never found an option on the Curve for wireless sync. The only way syncing works presently for me is to use desktop manager and press sync.
For the last few months, my sms and emails keep getting deleted automatically every few days. I am no sure if this has anything to do with blackberry protect which I have been using for sometime.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Bold 9000 with ATT's latest OS, 4.6x. Twice in the last 2 weeks all of my past calendar items - over 1000 - were deleted on my Blackberry. Both times I discovered this when I started a synch with Outlook on my laptop and BB Desktop Software wanted to delete all 1000+ past appts. from Outlook. That would have been a disaster.
This has never happened before and I haven't changed any settings. Calendar is still set to keep all appointments forever.
Is there somewhere else in my Blackberry settings I should be looking to find the source of this problem?
I've got the Bold 9000, and I'm using OS 5.0 (5.0.0.464).My sister went in my phone and deleted ALL my text messages, I've checked SMS Inbox and SMS Outbox, and all the folders, and I didn't have the option selected to save SMS to Sim Card, so no SMS's there.Is there any way at all to retrieve my deleted text conversations? Any hidden folders or logs or anything in the phone's software files to retrieve the texts?
